My natural hair is like a medium ash brown and I do extra blonde highlights I tone with a T 18 or parana light ash or ash 4to 5 minutes Only otherwise I will have dark gray hair until a 3 washes it’s normal extra light blonde or almost And without damaging my natural hair or changing the color for that matter
You don’t need to know if you’re in the same level of color if the hair is like super wide by yellow then yes you can it will just tone If it’s still a little orangey yellow it may be ash pravana It will look like a medium natural blonde to a dark natural blonde depending on the level

I have very dark brown hair down to my waist and extremity thick. I wanna go platinum with some metallic teal underneath. I bleached my hair, then it was a carrot top. I bleached again no difference. I'm unsure of what to do with my hair. I recently got it bleached and the end result is that I have some areas that are a level 10 and other parts that are basically gold in color so I believe that's a level 7 (I'm not a hairdresser or anything like that, I've just watched so many of these types of videos that I learned a little bit) That being said I'm wondering if I should do a bleach bath to get the gold tones out or if I should just re-bleach my hair all over again. I do feel that a bleach bath/wash will get the gold tones out I just don't know if I will get my hair to match the other areas that are already at a level 10, and if I do a bleach bath should I avoid putting the bleach bath on the areas that are already at a level 10? Would appreciate some advice. Thanks :)
Need some advice on toning. I am attempting do go light brown/ caramel and started off with black hair. I’ve bleached my hair and turned brassy/orange. Should I tone to remove brassiness then dye my desired color? Or would I be okay just using my brown dye? I only find videos on people attempting to go blonde not brown 😢😕😕

I really got to understand the chart with makeup. I have had darker color under my eyes. I've tried different products, sleeping longer, and all the tips available on the internet and only Retinol or adapalene from La Roche Posay did help, however the longer the product is used the better the result as well. When I feel I have some dark under my eyes I go immediately for the orange color corrected and either apply prior to concealer or with it depended on how much I feel must be covered. I am a dark blonde with red highlights. For several years I would achieve platinum with L'Oreal Preference Blondissimes hair color in their lightest shade to achieve that color. The only issue was the light reddish tone that would arrive 3-4 weeks when my roots would begin to grow in. I now use Extra Light Natural blonde and get better results. I'm happy I saw this video so when I do begin to see light brassiness 4-5 weeks in I can choose my toner with the color wheel confidentiality.I have been told several untrue facts by individuals who work in beauty stores in the past so thankful for explaining several things I had been misinformed about and allowing me to choose my products without having to question often individuals who lack the knowledge I truly require. 😊😊😊😊

Hi this was soooo helpful and informative. You explained things super clearly. The only issue is I am trying to fix my yellow orange bleached hair and I only have access to Sally’s. I was thinking Wella t18 was good originally but it didn’t work on my hair at all!!!! So my question is what in the world can I get at Sally’s to fix this?! Wella, has a chart telling u the under tone of the toner and also gives u a chart on the level. It’s online and u have to look it up, I did and it worked.

So what brand of toner would you recommend? I am thinking going blonde and I want to stay away from the Wella toners and others like it, but I cant seem to find any other recommendations.

Hi, I used a demi permanent 9.12/9bv on orange brassy hair. I left it on for 10 mins. Big mistake. It's now dark gold plus orange. I put t18 didn't do much. How do I fix it. The lady is angry 😠. I am am idiot!

hi this is super helpful! im confused about how to read the wella color touch chart, which secondary numbers indicate blue vs grey in the ash tones? for example 5/1 vs 5/71 both called light ash brown and look similar.
Let me ask you this...if what you say is true, why does level 9bv exist? In any color line. Level 9 blue/violet. If we tone only at the level of what we lift to or darker...then why would blue exist in a level 9 toner? How would orange exist once lifted to a level 9 and then we require blue in our level 9 toner? It doesn't add up doesn't make sense. Blue is for fighting orange, correct? And you're saying I only use level 9 to tone hair that's at lifted to 9 or higher...which if I lifted to that level 9, orange shouldn't exist. So why do they make level 9bv? Why does the blue need to be there? I can understand level 7bv or 8 bv because the orange undertones can exist at those levels. But at 9 or 10 the only thing we should ever need is v. Violet. Correct? So what is the purpose of the blue in those level toners?
So I have naturally dark brown hair. I lightened it earlier this year and used ion brilliance titanium semi permanent color to take out the brassiness and it worked beautifully! However, I'm wanting to try demi permanent this time. I believe I'm a level 7 or 8 (mix of orange and yellow). Do you recommend I tone with a 7 or darker (like a 6)?
Ugh I went to Sally's and got a toner that says platinum lace. I've never needed a toner before but I highlighted my hair then smeared the excess on the ends like an idiot. Now the ends at light but fake yellow looking. Now I don't know what to do. Uggghhh. Anybody have any suggestions. I bought the ion color brilliance in platinum lace and a 10 volume developer. Help

And i have a question...sorry for my english as it is not too good...so today in our color class our client level had level 4 or 5 natural hair not excatly remember and we prelight her hair with 30% vol and it prelightened between 8 and 9, almost 9...and then we apply color on it 10.11 without neutralizing that yellowish tone, we noticed that nape area got almost silverish grey and some place there were green i mean it looked so weird, but the color 10.11 on crown area where prelight level was 8 it turned out goldenish blonde... where we actualli went wrong can you please guide
hair will not hold toner at level 7 if it is lifted to level 9 or 10 like you suggest WOW this is a DISASTER. I hope no new hairdressers are using this information. WOW.
But what if you have level 6 /7 ( in the lengths) virgin hair about 20% grey on the top hair, most in the front but from sun ( without any products) brassy lengths… Without the grey I would just try to tone it but I am afraid the white hair turns blue 😅
Hello I need urgently expert advice. Imagine a person bleached their hair blond. Very bright. The color is so intense. The person pulls out the pigments 4 times with vitamin C washes, the hair lost half of its radiant pigments, its pale as heck. Still just as bright as before. The person does not want to go much darker in shade but wants to replace those lost pigments with blond color pigments from a permanent non lift hair dye blonde. Loreal for example. The person got darker lowlights and the pigments are popping but the rest was just done with a toner and it is not popping at all. Hair dressers keep telling that it only works with dark pigments to add pigments but the bright colors won't add almost any pigments. I refuse to believe that. There must be some pigment deposit made with blonde color. Please help me I don't know where to turn. I need good news. Thank you!!! ❤
I bleached my hair platinum at home and it turned out Snow White on top of my head where I was mostly gray and the ends are orange and brassy. What color toner should I use? Wow thank goodness I found u . I was trying for a week to figure out toner ialways dye my own hair but no clue about toner. My issue is in the last 2 yrs as I'm getting old haha my hair has changed to a natrual orange brown color . From a natrual dark brown . So when I dye now I always get hot roots or red orange it's annoying. So I've used all the crap Sally's tells u to omg mistakes. So I'm going to black cherry maybe with some metallic silver ends or highlights so what toner would I use also should I lighten hair before dying I'm a light brownish red and gray from old age haha. I'm unsure of what to do with my hair. I recently got it bleached and the end result is that I have some areas that are a level 10 and other parts that are basically gold in color so I believe that's a level 7 (I'm not a hairdresser or anything like that, I've just watched so many of these types of videos that I learned a little bit)
That being said I'm wondering if I should do a bleach bath to get the gold tones out or if I should just re-bleach my hair all over again. I do feel that a bleach bath/wash will get the gold tones out I just don't know if I will get my hair to match the other areas that are already at a level 10, and if I do a bleach bath should I avoid putting the bleach bath on the areas that are already at a level 10?

Need some advice on toning. I am attempting do go light brown/ caramel and started off with black hair. I’ve bleached my hair and turned brassy/orange. Should I tone to remove brassiness then dye my desired color? Or would I be okay just using my brown dye? I only find videos on people attempting to go blonde not brown 😢😕😕

Ive had my hair really messed up at a salon 😩 been doing it myself for a while and really appreciate the education.
I really got to understand the chart with makeup. I have had darker color under my eyes. I've tried different products, sleeping longer, and all the tips available on the internet and only Retinol or adapalene from La Roche Posay did help, however the longer the product is used the better the result as well. When I feel I have some dark under my eyes I go immediately for the orange color corrected and either apply prior to concealer or with it depended on how much I feel must be covered. I am a dark blonde with red highlights. For several years I would achieve platinum with L'Oreal Preference Blondissimes hair color in their lightest shade to achieve that color. The only issue was the light reddish tone that would arrive 3-4 weeks when my roots would begin to grow in. I now use Extra Light Natural blonde and get better results. I'm happy I saw this video so when I do begin to see light brassiness 4-5 weeks in I can choose my toner with the color wheel confidentiality.I have been told several untrue facts by individuals who work in beauty stores in the past so thankful for explaining several things I had been misinformed about and allowing me to choose my products without having to question often individuals who lack the knowledge I truly require. 😊😊😊😊

Hi this was soooo helpful and informative. You explained things super clearly. The only issue is I am trying to fix my yellow orange bleached hair and I only have access to Sally’s. I was thinking Wella t18 was good originally but it didn’t work on my hair at all!!!! So my question is what in the world can I get at Sally’s to fix this?! I’m sure you have tons of people with orange yellow hair watching and thinking okay if not wella than what do I use?

Wella, has a chart telling u the under tone of the toner and also gives u a chart on the level. It’s online and u have to look it up, I did and it worked.

All this information but no brands, products, or suggestions… So I go to Sally’s letting them know exactly what I need, demi permanent level 9 violet, but not sure what brand. This lady tells me Wella T18 would be best… Give me a break. So I left with T18 because I DIDNT KNOW WHAT TO BUY!!!!!!

Hi, I used a demi permanent 9.12/9bv on orange brassy hair. I left it on for 10 mins. Big mistake. It's now dark gold plus orange. I put t18 didn't do much. How do I fix it. The lady is angry 😠. I am am idiot!

She used color out to bleach and and later applied toner pearl light blonde. My hair is now on the platinum spectrum, but looks ashy and greenish... hi this is super helpful! im confused about how to read the wella color touch chart, which secondary numbers indicate blue vs grey in the ash tones? for example 5/1 vs 5/71 both called light ash brown and look similar.
After bleaching, my hair is like your two strands of hair.

Let me ask you this...if what you say is true, why does level 9bv exist? In any color line. Level 9 blue/violet.
If we tone only at the level of what we lift to or darker...then why would blue exist in a level 9 toner? How would orange exist once lifted to a level 9 and then we require blue in our level 9 toner? It doesn't add up doesn't make sense.
Blue is for fighting orange, correct? And you're saying I only use level 9 to tone hair that's at lifted to 9 or higher...which if I lifted to that level 9, orange shouldn't exist. So why do they make level 9bv? Why does the blue need to be there?
I can understand level 7bv or 8 bv because the orange undertones can exist at those levels. But at 9 or 10 the only thing we should ever need is v. Violet. Correct? So what is the purpose of the blue in those level toners?

So I have naturally dark brown hair. I lightened it earlier this year and used ion brilliance titanium semi permanent color to take out the brassiness and it worked beautifully! However, I'm wanting to try demi permanent this time. I believe I'm a level 7 or 8 (mix of orange and yellow). Do you recommend I tone with a 7 or darker (like a 6)?

Ugh I went to Sally's and got a toner that says platinum lace. I've never needed a toner before but I highlighted my hair then smeared the excess on the ends like an idiot. Now the ends at light but fake yellow looking. Now I don't know what to do. Uggghhh. Anybody have any suggestions. I bought the ion color brilliance in platinum lace and a 10 volume developer. Help

And i have a question...sorry for my english as it is not too good...so today in our color class our client level had level 4 or 5 natural hair not excatly remember and we prelight her hair with 30% vol and it prelightened between 8 and 9, almost 9...and then we apply color on it 10.11 without neutralizing that yellowish tone, we noticed that nape area got almost silverish grey and some place there were green i mean it looked so weird, but the color 10.11 on crown area where prelight level was 8 it turned out goldenish blonde... where we actualli went wrong can you please guide
hair will not hold toner at level 7 if it is lifted to level 9 or 10 like you suggest WOW this is a DISASTER. I hope no new hairdressers are using this information. WOW.

But what if you have level 6 /7 ( in the lengths) virgin hair about 20% grey on the top hair, most in the front but from sun ( without any products) brassy lengths…
Without the grey I would just try to tone it but I am afraid the white hair turns blue 😅
Hello I need urgently expert advice. Imagine a person bleached their hair blond. Very bright. The color is so intense. The person pulls out the pigments 4 times with vitamin C washes, the hair lost half of its radiant pigments, its pale as heck. Still just as bright as before. The person does not want to go much darker in shade but wants to replace those lost pigments with blond color pigments from a permanent non lift hair dye blonde. Loreal for example. The person got darker lowlights and the pigments are popping but the rest was just done with a toner and it is not popping at all. Hair dressers keep telling that it only works with dark pigments to add pigments but the bright colors won't add almost any pigments. I refuse to believe that. There must be some pigment deposit made with blonde color. Please help me I don't know where to turn. I need good news. Thank you!!! ❤
I bleached my hair platinum at home and it turned out Snow White on top of my head where I was mostly gray and the ends are orange and brassy. What color toner should I use? Wow thank goodness I found u . I was trying for a week to figure out toner ialways dye my own hair but no clue about toner. My issue is in the last 2 yrs as I'm getting old haha my hair has changed to a natrual orange brown color . From a natrual dark brown . So when I dye now I always get hot roots or red orange it's annoying. So I've used all the crap Sally's tells u to omg mistakes. So I'm going to black cherry maybe with some metallic silver ends or highlights so what toner would I use also should I lighten hair before dying I'm a light brownish red and gray from old age haha. Would love some suggestions I have every developer an bleaches,dyes I'm a beauty store in my bathroom 😂
