I currently have one budgie at home but I’m going to get him a friend soon. Thank you for this advice, it really helps! Btw your videos have helped me become a better bird owner than I ever imagined myself.
As an outsider who doesn't own any birbs (unfortunately) due to a chronic health issue, there is one thing I would like to share. I have noticed one important point about small birds (budgies, cockatiels, caiques, lovebirds, etc.), whether you have a whole flock or just one birb. When you are taming them, at the same time, the birb is also training you. Regardless of flock size, the birbs are preparing you for entry as a member of their flock. To us, they are cute, little birbs. To them, we are, more or less, simply a very large, featherless birb with whom they have bonded, and who has been conditioned to be a member of their flock. I hope this means something. On the other hand, maybe I'm simply talking out of my hat. But there it is. That's my 37-¾ cents' worth of thoughts (inflation!).
Thank you, Alen, for all the beautiful years of showing the world everything about our beloved budgies! You have a beautiful human and budgie flock. How proud you must be!♥️🐦🐦🐦♥️
I love your videos and have been watching them for a number of years.. At the present time I have 6 Budgies, all born here at my house. Three of them are a couple of years old , one male and two females. They are very tame and trained. I’ve noticed a huge difference in the male and the females. The females are tamer and more bonded to me, spending every morning in my kitchen with me or on me. The male is less responsive, rarely steps up and when he does come to me he sits on my head. These two female budgies are extremely jealous of each other, and will fight over who gets to sit with me. Sometimes chasing the male away also. I recently hatched two clutches and kept one from one clutch and two from the second clutch. The babies were a bit leery of me until they saw the other Budgies enacting with me. I did not hand feed these babies because I believe mom’s food is best. But I had emergent supplies on hand in the slim chance I had to, like I did my older three. I’ve noticed that they learn from each as well as from me. It’s too early to tell 100% what the gender is of the new ones. But I’m thinking one is male, (purple cere) and he happens to be the most tame of them so far. The exact opposite of my older male. He sings as a lot, like the other male and as the males tend to and he is very playful and adventurous. Supervision is a serious matter with the new ones, him especially. I love them all and they are a constant source of companionship and entertainment as well. I’m nearly 70 years old now and I’m home most times all day. Keep up the great videos. Thank you
I have 4 budgies (mom and dad) and (daughter and son) I had to separate recently because the mom started to become territorial and once I moved the 2 kids things calmed down but now they are so scared of my hand anytime my hand goes in cage they fly to the corner of the cage to get way away from me and I’ve been feeding them everyday for the past 6 months and only the mom would take some from my hand and then fly away, please help me I really want to be able to put all 4 together but I want to tame before I put them all together
Hey alex i have a question So you know dates, the ones you eat i would like to feed it to my budgies and i know they are too sweet for them but is there an amount i can give them?
When I cleaned the cage, my 2 budgies always escape, and never go back in their cage. They fly and hit everything in the house. I'm afraid that they get hurt so bad when hitting the wall, the door etc. My previous budgies knew how to fly back to their cage. Now it feels like they are blind and don't see where they are flying to. Any advice please?. Ty
Have you tamed more than one budgie?
