The 1942 Raid on Bruneval ⚔️ | Animated World War 2 Mission
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 лип 2024
- In February 1942 Operation Biting commenced. The raid was important because early on in the war, the Germans had an advantage in terms of radar technology. A group of inexperienced British soldiers were dropped on the French shores and had to literally rip apart a Wurzburg radar to bring it home.

Really interesting episode of the war. It's nice to learn what John Frost was up to before Arnhem. Speaking of which, British paratroopers really haven't much luck with radio equipment, it would seem.
Major Frost was at Arnhem as well, maybe he jinxes radios.
yeah, but I heard it was worse back in ww1, due to it being in its infancy.
The finished video is so enjoyable. In the Army, we would call it "highly spit shined!" Thank you, Casey & Chickadee, AZ, USA
Raiding: An Allied pastime hobby
well, they had to try small raids, before going ahead with a full assault ahead.
Good work. I’d imagine this one raid caused a significant shift in resources to defend and guard stations all along the Atlantic Wall. Troops that could be used elsewhere.
Listening to your commentary made me really consider how easy it would have been for the whole raid to have ended with the paras all dead or captured. Must have been terrifying for those involved.
Browning...Frost...British paras scattered...Closing in Germans...A risky airborne operation...the radios don't work on landing....relief doesn't show up on time...Where have I heard this story before?
Seriously, great job on this! I never heard of any cross-channel ops besides Dieppe & St. Naizaire!
Great show today !
Good work man.
The animated maps I understand takes a lot of effort.
I love the history of this raid and although I have watched several other videos about it, your video taught me something new! Thanks, great job.
Nicely done video
Wow I like your content. Editing and narrating make your channel my favorite. Your work should be admired . You are deserve more subscriber I hope you must gain 1 Million subscriber by the end of this year. Please keep continue this type of amazing work. Your admirable hard work and deep research make you the best channel on UA-cam.
Kind of curious, why did the paratroopers throw explosives and open fire on the radar house when there were only 3 people inside?
Good question. Probably because they expected more.
There was a first shot heard in a Rodney party, so the paratroops didn't take the risk that the German destroyed the radar with explosives. They killed a German who was try to do it. For the Lone House, they expected more inside and there was only one German in the first floor who firing to the paratroops from the window. Outside the house, they were more. There was a shelter digging in the ground for the operators near the radar.
Great documentary for a great raid
Glad you think so!
Great presentaion. How about the Kemlitz incident as topic for a future video?
May the algorithm favor you
Thanks Eric!
Re other topics to cover - Operation Pedestal is an amazing story and lends itself to animated description well.
What a very respectful and well put together of a heroic raid by members of my Parents/Grandparents' generations. It's ok. I put my thumbs up when you talked about the British weather. We know. ;-)
Thank you Peter, happy to hear you enjoyed it!
Anglo Saxons versus Prussians is fascinating. So similar but so different but it is all German.
>>>>>>>>>>> HISTORY TOPIC FOR DISCUSSION
Didn't the German radar at Bruneval Pick up the Whitleys coming in..??
I don't understand the lack of mention of the Cameronian (Scottish Rifles) Regiment. Surely you aren't identifying those brave me as Cameron Highlanders?
No to CGI.
godd video thank you
can someone tell me, what is the name of this guy? I find his content quite good.
There’s a film called “Two men went to war” supposedly true and based on events that happened at the same time and location. Does anyone know if it’s true
Either you did this earlier or someone else did, bcz saw this just 1-2 months ago.
Hi Karl, yes this is a video I did 2 years ago I believe. I decided to try to animate the battle instead of just talking about it.
Criminally low views on this video...didn’t show up in my sub feed I’m pretty sure? Had to go on your channel to find this. Typical UA-cam, anything historical gets shit on in recommendations etc
It happens sometimes unfortunately
Have you done a video about the circumstances of the creation of the state of Israel? If not, do you plan to?
"RAF - "Royal Air Fighters" 🙄
Soon the fulfillment of Isaiah 2:4 will take place:
"He will render judgment among the nations and set matters straight respecting many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, nor will they learn war anymore."
We will enjoy absolute peace, for all the tragical events will be forgotten, according to Isaiah 65:17:
"For look! I am creating new heavens and a new earth; And the former things will not be called to mind, Nor will they come up into the heart."
And there is more.
First time I've heard a biblical reference to "pruning shears"...
@@darrellsmith4204 Darrell, if you listen to the presentation of this video, you will understand the connection of the promise recorded in Isaiah 2:4.
is this British? "Ray-dur"? Is this American? "Ray-Dar"?
the host is Canadian, so he uses a more North American pronunciation.
