wow thanks so much for making this, I never knew about this battle and how it caused the 80 years' war. Such an interesting story. I still remember when you had under 1000 subs and were recording in your room in the netherlands and now you have animated battles and all that

I love the new format but I hope you don't abandon your old type of videos about biographies and curious historical facts. Still it's great you are covering battles and campaigns that no else did yet. Hope someday you talk about the "Auspicious incidente" that was the massacre of the janissaries in the Ottoman Empire 🧐

Thank you for the feedback. Right now I am still experimenting with types of videos. Once I become comfortable with animation (which has improved a lot the past months, if I say so myself) I will have more time on my hands to explore biographies and interesting stories.
Right now I am working on a 'biography' video of King Mithridates of Pontus. It will be packaged in multiple battle videos, detailing all three Mithridatic wars. A best of both worlds, if you will. 😉

@Guan Van Der Put Yep,yea that's accurate,William of orange in reality was more of an administrator,he wasen't very competent at fighting and lost to alba,Maurice indeed was very good,he was competent, had oversight, united the provinces, and rose the house of Nassa oranj to prominence, the main thing willem had was money, that's all he truely needed, and the spanish had a ton of enemies giving the dutch a massive advantage with the spanish fighting the english, ottomans, french, and a ton more, the dutch got lucky and under maurice, they got good.

11:22 The casual remark about executions, doesn't quite express the impact of this. At that time, there was no equality. Nobles were above other people, kings ruled appointed directly by God.
Killing a commoner, well, a commoner is dead. If a noble did it, it would maybe be subject for gossip. But killing a noble....Unacceptable, by sanction of every other noble in Europe. Nobles who correctly understood that if titles meant nothing, everybody was at risk.
This is why the Spanish murder of the Counts of Egmond and Horne shook public opinion more than whole villages being exterminated. Killing a few commoners was harsh, murdering a noble, even without a scam trial where they got a chance to repent and pay a bribe or go in exile, now THAT was an outrage.
So these Spanish executions would've been viewed as exceedingly harsh and scandalous, and while causing lots of intimidation, cause even devout catholic nobles to think 'Hang on, if we're randomly killing nobles, who guarantes my family isn't next? Hmm.. I should consider supporting these Dutch, heretics as though they may be'.

Thank you for your sharing this historical video.
I would like to share a positive thought. Soon the fulfillment of Isaiah 2:4 will take place:
"He will render judgment among the nations and set matters straight respecting many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, nor will they learn war anymore."
We will enjoy absolute peace, for all the tragical events will be forgotten, according to Isaiah 65:17:
"For look! I am creating new heavens and a new earth; And the former things will not be called to mind, Nor will they come up into the heart."
    And there is more...

It(belgium)was later given to Austria after the war of Spanish succession..the Austrian tried many times to give it to France but the brits wouldn't allow it. Charles V kept it for his line because it was the richest, most prosperous part of his territories. It was a mistake as his heirs fumbled the bag
