The quality of your videos are top tier but still simple in it's delivery. This combination makes it so engaging to watch and allows you to learn so much. Definitely transformative content!

I'm struggling a little bit. How do I niche down in Comedy? What problems do I solve? Not being in a good mood? Kinda hard to see my way here.....

Hey man, sorry for taking a while to reply!
Love your question - it shows you were truly listening 💪🏻
What you’re saying is correct. This system is most useful for educational channels.
I do have a solution that, with your touch, could work great for entertainers.
👉🏻 One way to niche down in the entertainment world is with a content “format”.
(I’ll explain the theory, followed by a couple of examples to make it tangible)

A “format” doesn’t only refer to whether your content is video, text or an image.
Within video, your delivery can be “restricted” to a specific style that plays to your strengths, which then allows you to explore creativity within the format.
      ⭐One example - Harry Mack
Harry is probably one of the greatest freestyle rappers in history.
When thinking of freestyle rap, most people would probably think it means rapping about the surroundings, what people are wearing, or the rapper’s life story.
Harry is doing something different - he has a format.
He asks the people he performs to for random words to rap about, proving them he is actually freestyling, while also turning this into a collaboration.
His format is always the same, which allows him as a creator to do:
👉🏻 Branding - when people recognise him they know(!) to throw some words. He is known for the format.
👉🏻 Creator block - he doesn’t have to start with a “blank page” every time he creates content. The “restriction” of a format allows him to be prolific and make something that’s proven to work.
👉🏻 Binge-able content - when a format works, those who love it will binge watch. In a weird way, people love knowing what to expect. Harry keeps delivering insane skills, and so the format is awesome to his fans. (it's OK to repeat what works. They made 10(!) Fast & Furious movies because the format worked).
👉🏻 Mastery - the “restrictions” force you to go above and beyond, and reach unexplored depths.
You may explore different “restrictions” based on your work, in order to create a format you can leverage.
      ⭐Other examples:
@loic.suberville - skits about English and French, and how the languages have insane grammar rules (Shorts format)
@khabylame - Wordless comedy skits, usually “teaching common sense” by responding to videos online. He is known for this format, which gave him insane fame (I think he appeared in the latest Bad Boys).
A format could be literally ANYTHING, as seen by the very different examples.
Niching down in a format could allow you to create a niche-of-one even as an entertainer.
It is not niche by a “topic” like for educators, but that’s OK, as the two worlds are different.
Going “narrow” has a counter-intuitive effect.
Being specific allow us to cut through the noise a lot more effectively (I believe this is the most underrated "hack" of the internet).
You can dominate simply by coining and carving out your niche, immediately making you one of kind.
Then supply and demand is disproportionately in your favour as a creator.
I hope you find this helpful!
      P.S. -
I spent an obsessive amount of time on this point, to be honest.
THIS IS THE KEY to a crowded internet.
I would bet any day, that 9 out of 10 creators WITH a format, would outperform a creator without one.
I am still searching for a specific format for this channel (talking head is great, but it can be better!).
Finding a format takes exploration of what you like, your strengths, and what resonates with the audience. It should highlight what you're great at, which then helps making something people are amazed by - even with comedy).
(comedians love to "niche down" on their background. You're allowed to joke about your own ethnicity, lol).
This is a personal journey only the creator can do for themselves. You can't explore and test formats without creating.
Haven’t found a system for this yet.
🙏🏻Happy to answer any follow up questions you may have!
