I've got two Larrivees. A 12 string, and a 6 string. People LOVE my guitars! (So do I, of course) For the price, you just can't get a better instrument. The aesthetic of the company is wonderful. Truly, I am PROUD to be a Larrivee' owner. They represent craftsmanship, artisan-ship, beautiful aesthetics, and affordability. What more can one ask for? When I hear somebody playing either of my Larrivee' guitars, I can't believe how GOOD they sound! And lemme tell you--my 12 string is a musical force of nature!!! Thank you Jean Larrivee'.

I have a Larrive L10. What is the 12 string like? I'm sure you are happy?

Just bought a L-03rw Larivee! It blows my 3500 dollar Taylor away and it was only half the price. I still love both guitars but LOVE my new Larivee. Much respect to the master Luthier.

I have a 2004 Larrivee D-05 which is just an amazing guitar. It has sustain like no other guitar I have heard and the build quality is perfect!

Bought a Larrivee LH-05 2016 and the tone for the price is unmatched. No bling, just pure high quality sound.

thanks - always great to see this man. the only guitars i've absolutely regretted selling over the years from my hoard were larrivee's. never again :-) btw his name is not pronounced "gene", it's more like "john" without the n. the fact that he didn't correct you is another sign of his wonderful self-effacing demeanour.

Thanks man! I appreciate the comment. Funny, before the interview I asked him how I should pronounce his name and he said, "how you said it already is fine". You are right... he is a class act!

you're welcome - appreciating your videos. he probably gets that a lot since he's a long way from his birthplace here in montréal, ironically "jean" does sound more like "john" which is its english equivalent. for next time :-)

That T-40 has certainly got my attention. Shame you didn’t feature it in the video

If I were Jean Larrivée, I would have had a hard time staying genial while the interviewer repeatedly mangled my name.

    • @HeartbreakerGuitars

Actually we specifically asked him before the interview what he prefers. He's a very sweet man and said... "You can call me Jean, you can call me 'jean, John, whatever! His own wife called him "John" ....

@@HeartbreakerGuitars That's very accommodating of him, and I'm sure he'd have let you pronounce it Throatwobbler Mangrove to get the publicity, but Jean is pronounced closer to "John" than "Gene" in French. Think of Jean-Luc Picard. If you heard his wife using that pronunciation, I'm surprised you didn't too.

@@dwasifarkaralahishipoor2223 And his last name (and brand name) are pronounced Larri-vay, also. It’s very strange that this prominent dealer mispronounces both the owners first name and last name consistently.

Played it. Nice but Martin beats them...tried many.

Well, that is your opinion of course. For my money, Larrivee is better by far. Even the low end 03 series has single piece mahogany neck, not wings like a lot of Martins, and all wood binding. You get plastic on most Martins even high up the food chain. Larrivee has more clarity and far more more balance, Martin has big bass. So it depends what you are looking for, but the quality of Larrivee for the money is unrivaled.

@@keithgreenaway2690 My L-03rw is just epic, it rivals my 614ce Taylor that was DOUBLE in price. Most high end Taylors and Martins are very nice, but Larivee is dovetail and solid with wood binding. The quality of Larivee exceeds Martin for almost half the price and in my opinion. I have 4 acoustics and played many brands before choosing the Larivee. Larivee is on another level.

Sure, maybe Martin's do sound better, but maybe not. Either way, they cost double or more most times. Absolutely NOT worth the price difference. Larrivee are amazing bang for the buck.
