Great review bro. I started a collection about two years ago and now have about 5 pairs. Excellent shoe!

One of the first things I bought after getting my first part-time job was a pair of Common Projects, due to the (purely online) hype. They weren't as expensive at the time but still were a crazy expenditure for a teenager. The rest of my wardrobe was so boring it made the shoes pointless, anodyne and un-complimented. Pulling them off without them looking like NPC shoes requires the confidence and fit for people to see plain, white shoes and recognise it as an intentional choice, not a default. I didn't have either.
Nowadays I mainly go for boots and shoes with more interesting leathers and designs - and indigo crocking resistance - but that also means each pair has more clothes it clashes with and I've needed to spend multiples more to have footwear that matches any given fit. That's the advantage of these: not much doesn't work with plain white leather sneakers, especially for a young man.

I guess if you're going to own anything white, its gotta be shoes. Maybe a t-shirt.
