George, I get the feeling that we're going to see some Action Force and Action Man dioramas pop up on the Analog Toys channel, in the not too distant future. 😁
I absolutely loved this diorama tutorial by the multi talented Tony " Analog Toys " Roberts. You cannot fault the attention to detail and the obvious love for these Star Wars Black Series Dagobah figures. The only helpful suggestion that I can make, is for Tony to take some photographs at night, with just the backlight illuminating the diorama, to help create a swamp atmosphere.
The Halloween spider web really photographed well as you suggested. I will admit I wasn't sure when you first laid it out onto the terrain, but as the shot developed you proved this technique could look very effective. This video was a nice accompanyment to my coffee break!
Tony i collect the 6 inch and i live in England in the country ,i take mine out and photo them ,im not the best but it looks cool ,what you have done i really like ,keep it up ,love your content.
Fish tank ornaments are great for making figure dioramas. I also love going out into the forestry and taking photos of G.I Joe, Jurassic Park, Masters of the Universe etc that suit a woodland background.
It used to be quite hard to accomplish these sort of studio (enjoyable) fine work when there were no digital equipment, we all had to deal with old films and, indeed, light played a major role in entire process of capturing images.
I do a lot of product photography, they make this stuff that's a sticky wax that you can use to temporarily hold stuff in place while you shoot and it doesn't hurt the toy. It would probably work great for that hand stand shot.
Thank you for posting this. It took me back to when I was a kid in 1980. It really reminded me of those photos from the Sears and JCPenney Christmas catalogs they put out back then! Awesome job. You could also use some museum putty to keep Luke doing his hand stand and Yoda on his foot (though I’m sure you already know that). Again, thank you! Awesome video!
You can also get picture backdrops from model railway shops. Not sure they do a Jungle one though! Aquarium shops, model shops and also aquarium plants are useful. I use them for my wargaming terrain.
Hey! You may have discovered a hidden talent for photography. This was an awesome video and I enjoyed something a little different from you. Really cool!
Toy photography certainly has become a thing and there are lots of great ones out there. Good idea to bring some inspiration to toy photography. Bonus info: I used to make photo stories with my GI Joes, but it was ye olde paper photos, and you know how long those took to develop compared to today xD
Excellent work! Do you have an instagram (or any other photo sharing service) account in which you post photos like those and your collection in general?
@@AnalogToys Maybe you should add in the Patreon photo set like this as a bonus. Photos of collections are common, but set up shots like those are quite rare.
Great vid! I’ll be sure to visit you on FB and check out works from fellow fans, collectors, designers, and artists. I’ve a few pieces I’d like to share as well and the exposure would be much appreciated! All the best and look forward to future vids. Yo Jack!
Those Aquarium tree trunks just scream Dagobah!!. Love it...looked pretty accurate 👍
Awesome pics and suggestions
Great video tony you have a talent for dioramas

Excellent video
Great diorama setup. The fake cobweb really does look good as mist and those black series figures are getting better all the time. Thx Tony.

Great video Tony. Really instructional and love the cut from your Yoda falling to Yoda in Empire 😂
That looks great. I used to photograph my figures. I may do this again.
Beautiful shots! You've got a good eye.

Wow,
Tony I thought you did an amazing job on this! So simple but yet looks great!😁👍. Thanks for sharing.😁
I think it looks great.
A truly awesome video. You’re right too, the head sculpt for Luke is the best with the Snowspeeder Luke.

Great video!

The usual high quality video Tony. My next videos will have a jungle theme and will be constructing diorama - I will report on my progress 👍👍

Like the old Argos dioramas!
I really dig the diorama. Came out perfect!

Have you thought of how you might do the water/swamp in diorama form?
Haven’t given it much thought.
So nice 🤩 Tony !!! good job
Thanks!
I feel like we missed a blooper reel ;)
You could try slow exposure and pull the cotton wool as you release the shutter. Should give a ethereal misty look.
Excellent... Will try this. Thank u
