- Coco Maria brings us to another of her favourite Amsterdam record stores - Rush Hour - and asks "Who's there?".
Founded as a store in 1997, Rush Hour has grown into a label, distributor and party organiser that provides a home and community for music collectors in Amsterdam and further afield.

I can remember the shop at Spuistraat 98. I bought a lot of Brazilian records in that store, that are still in my collection. I wonder if they still stock Brazilian records, that would definitely be worth the visit to Amsterdam again !
Yes they do, a lot actually! They have a whole section for second hand Brazilian music

Lovely to see Rogier in this music invironment. When we met as students 28 years ago, he introduced me into the world of House music. It was like taking classes about this topic. I always have this sweet memory of him asking me: 'Give me a city name from anywhere of this planet'. I would found myself sitting on the floor in his totally packed room with hundreds maybe 1000 of records around me, feeling like a kid in a candy store not knowing what to choose. And when I would give the city name, he would then play a record related to that city. Lol
Beyond the selection, the releases and the parties, it is the crew that makes Rush Hour a really special place! I hope to be digging there soon again!
