If I was the impostor, then you'd be dead
You're trying to frame me, stop holding your breath
You're trying to catch me because you suspect me
I'm taking the blame
For the blood of a crew mate, no sir
That's a big assumption to make
I don't need this attention, not amusing
Just wanna be left alone and do this O2 thing
I'm not explaining a thing to you, stop standing in my way
Purple can vouch for me, she giving me high praise
But blue, he's a bit confusing
Saw him standing at the drill, staring at a blue screen
Excuse me, like who's he? Really think he fooling
This dude schemes, did y'all hear that? Who screamed?
You see, I am not the one doing the killing
Defending against you rude creeps
I find it funny that you believing in anything that blue speaks
So I'ma call you sheep
One sheep, two sheep, whoa, wait a minute, blue's deceased
I know I'm the one that blamed blue but truly

If I was the impostor, then you'd be dead
You're trying to frame me, stop holding your breath
You're trying to catch me because you suspect me
Well that's not fair
Well that's not fair
Call me crazy but I had this vision
The killer was walking among us, a regular civilian
I was rebooting comms, all the sudden, I'm sealed in
I unlocked the doors, blood rushed and spilled in
The dream was so vivid, I was shivering
A deed so villainous that I could not believe what I was witnessing
So stay back, I don't trust you people
I don't care about the tasks, I'm tryna sus who's evil
So if I gotta throw you mates in the lava lake
To stay alive by getting rid of the fake, that's great
Take that with a grain of salt, let's face facts
We not catching the killer at all if he fakes tasks
Check the vitals, hey, that's another body
And looking for it is like finding a needle in a haystack
Let's not waste time, kick out the pretender
And I am not the killer, so when you vote, just remember
I'm not the impostor, it's all in your head

@Thawne well it's a huge world so it probably took a lot of time to find every NPC in game to wake them up and check for corrupted files. Delivering the bad news is never fun and who knows maybe some NPCs reacted violently so they think not waking them up is mercy.
@Thawne You are right that the content creator of this video is heavily assuming our knowledge of how this scenario plays out. I watch a lot of anime and virtual video game world scenarios and they also take this liberty where there is a passage of time or evolution without any human involvement or coding. I highly recommend Sword Art Online or Digimon anime series or an anime with a virtual world. Sword Art Online takes this virtual world concept and goes into great detail without any spoilers.

So beautifully and tragically written. Makes me think of all the DnD campaigns that fizzled out, we’re broken apart, and abandoned
@Thawne the other npc explains they have been going around and “waking” other npcs to give them the choice, return to sleep or wonder. They could and well enough left them alone, but they feel a “duty”, for lack of a better word, to give each npc they come across the chance to choose.
How many people do you think YOU could reach by yourself, goi g around the world trying to wake folks up? Process would take years and requires an npc to become self aware enough to kick start it
@Thawne Think, if he still sleep after all that years without waking up own his own then don't that make it hard for others to wake up own their own too? Maybe the others just recently awaken too? Maybe they don't feel like torturing him by making him realise that they were abandoned. Or maybe they finally reached him.

Well technically Overlord is such an anime. @Thawne the other guard though it was a good time to wake him up now and let him have a choice whether he wants to stay asleep or wader, maybe he chose this time in particular because he thought that he was corrupted.
@Thawne well all the npcs know how the game worked for what we see, and they may got the hope for some months that maybe the players will come again, but he never come and im sure that even if they wasnt corrupted, they didnt wanted to just make him join to a world of not dead and not reason to exist, is like someone wake you up and say to you, hey the world is over, now you cant die and you cant do anything, just exist and wander forever, or keep sleeping but now knowing the world is gone(idk if that was me i will choose to not know that and just hibernate forever, and i will not want someone to join that)

Not an easy one on an unchanging world. Specially for an NPC who never had to make any decisions on their own until then.
Usually, when a save file is deleted, it doesn’t “delete” the file as it does mark the space to be rewritten. This is for data recovery.
In this case, if you were an NPC you would freeze in place, then slowly see the world get corrupted and overwritten around you, and eventually, you’d get overwritten too.
this ^^^^ omfg this needs more likes. by far the most distressing part of this imagined universe is this simple logistical factor
yes. it would be a terrible fate. the entire world and all rules in it slowly decaying.
You freezed in place, cant even move a single toes. You see everything around you also freezed, you waited days... Months... Years, waiting for an end to your suffering. As years passed you saw everything around you suddenly vanished, "finally my end has come" you think to yourself. As the black void slowly coming to you, deleting every single thing it passed. As it slowly crawled from your leg, you think if all happy memories you have in this world, kids laugh, birds chirping, and seeing the sunrise painting the world and the sky with its color. You die happily thinking this is the end, as you're the only thing last in this world. You can finally rest.

@@Baby_Oven Wouldn't be conscious though, as the save file is on the drive and is not being processed by the cpu according to the game's rules.
You could really turn this into a cosmic horror adventure thing from an npc's standpoint. The save gets corrupted and the npc's just go around wandering, sleeping, going insane and finding different ways to cope with the fact their world is in an endless standstill, but then one day, somehow, a player manages to load the file and see just the absolute mess the world has become, and now the few NPCs that still maintain a shred of sanity and knowledge of the plot have to try their hardest to fix things just enough so the player can conclude the main quest so they can finally rest.

And then the guilt set in.
Well I know what my nightmares are going to be about tonight 🙃
Edit: _technically_ that girl is still alive in your brother's head, because dreams are mashed together from memories and "junk data" in your brain, so if he remembers that she exists nothing has really changed for her. Yes I know she isn't real but it might be comforting 💀
Damn didn’t know dreams could be self aware.

Haunting
i thought they would die instantaneously, in a giant explosion.
Or they just do whatever they want.. they could have a party with the antagonist. No one is gonna tell the devs anyway.
Or that the world would start getting erased gradually, with the NPCs panicking as they see how their entire existence soon comes to an end.
the giant explosion would not go off instantly, instead it will slowly devour the world (Kinda like blackhole) then, it would freeze time PERMANENTLY, leaving the NPCS (and etc.) to be alive, yet s u f f e r i n g in an endless void.
Was writing my comment very fast didnt have time to think.
well the way deleting a file works is the space the file previously occupied is not turned into empty space immediately. it is slowly overidden with new data. it would not be a giant explosion. it would be parts of the world slowly decaying and dissapearing.
A blinding light hits them with their last memories being unheard
You could have gone much darker than this: In actual reality, deleting the save would have the protagonists of this short seeing the world dissolving under their own eyes.... just a dark void taking over everything, and then silence. Forever.
Well at least they don't get erased into oblivion.

The NPC’s at first don’t realize their universe is a simulation and the Players have a hard time believing that the NPC’s are alive.
Dawnguard armor makes it so much better and deeper. That look of a noble knight adds to the mood of existential dread
Man, I had to watch it twice, so good is this work!
I like it very much and it doesn't feel like a horror shit as others describe!
For me, it feels like freedom!
This needs to be the premise of an anime
@Thawne lots of ways it can make sense.
Well, there’s something sorta like this. MMO’s shutting down, a player wants to stay there till the last moment, gets stuck in the game and all NPCs suddenly gain conscience. Overlord’s the name.
I Was Reincarnated Into My Deleted Game
Interesting name for an anime that will never exist
@@betoh7140 yeah but it's a different world. This world is broken and in decay. I want a story based on this. Not another isekai

Had an idea for a RPG game a while ago where “you” stopped playing awhile ago only to come back years later and all the NPCs are like “oh, you’re back?” Having already moved on from the fantasy setting to the industrial revolution. Most of the monsters, bosses, and NPCs either dead or owning shops and stuff.
That would be so cool to see
Yea it's skyrim update, guards say that
man its terrifying to be able to do nothing anymore, being 100% reasonless, eventually everyone will sleep forever

The voice acting and animation is simply incredible, I love how well it all looks and feels.
I genuinely don’t have words for how happy I am to have found this channel a few months ago, keep up the good work!

The "A lot of us wander" really hit hard, it truly was well made.
Dude, you could make this into an actual series if you wanted to, with a lot deep and existential questions about the reason you still if you lost your purpose, and what to do with a life that has no point in existing.
Five words : it's literally just dark souls.
@@Ruew two words: Dark souls
And just like this, the most deep and dark game lore has been created.
It pretty much just became the world of Dark Souls.
"The Endless Times Have Begun."
I gotta say that is genuinely a horrifying concept.
Nobody does virtual existential horror like you, Hoot.
so basically in the pataphysical sense, every game becomes dark souls but worse because you cannot beat it
We go to scp shit .i don't want to be skeptikal but if everything we create even just a story' ini book that in reality it turn into new universe .i probably go mad and just do killing spree
..."or you can wander, allot of us wander" man that got me lmao. I think this is the best vid Hoot made, and he has some brilliant stuff.
This should be a series. Id watch this. An npc forced to wonder
"Or you can wonder, alot of us wonder" such a great and terrifying line
Yeah, if you spell it correctly..
I wonder if he meant wander. 🤔
I would like to see one based on a MMO that had its servers shut down after like 12 years. That would be a trip seeing how the NPCs would react.
They would probably think there seeing things and then cry tears of joy at the fact players are back and that the dark times are over or get angry at the player for abandoning them and plunging there world into darkness.
There's an anime that I saw a few episodes of while I was on deployment that was like that, only a player who loved the game was logged in as the servers were shutting down, but when they did, his consciousness was stuck in the game (like the player was using futuristic VR or something, don't think too deep it's anime.) But he goes around completely wrecking shit, and the NPCs gain consciousness

"Immortality it's the biggest and worst doom that someone can have"
Guy, Some.
Living forever by not aging is a good thing in my opinion but being unable to die in the other hand... No one deserves that kind of fate.
Indeed.
Depends on the context.
@@RelativelyBest Yep, I'd have to know the rules of immortality first. Floating in space after the earth is gone constantly choking for breath but never dying is worse than anything I can think of. Well, falling into the gravity of a star to choke and burn forever maybe.
@@MrGlobbits You know, I love how the "what about when the Earth is destroyed" argument implies that the immortal would be fine for the 4-7 _billion years_ up to that point. (But still haven't spent that time figuring out what to do about it.) There's something weirdly optimistic about that.
Anyway, if we're to be at least a little realistic, immortality would be something you have to actively maintain. Because, you know, entropy is kind of a hard-coded feature of the universe. I don't see why we should always assume the most extreme and least realistic version of immortality.
Plus, where do we draw the line between "immortal" and "indestructible"? And does immortality also make you immune to being unconscious? Because that in itself could be a problem. Point is, we can't just say "immortality bad" without defining what it means first.
Well.
Never deleting my saves ever again.
"Alot of us wander." That kinda sounds like the current mood of many people i know. Sometimes i find myself there too, wandering, just driving my car in one direction for an hour with no destination.
What a beautiful shot at 1:30 the colors really pop and the sound effects were top notch!
So fun fact: when you delete a file it doesnt delete the actual data, it deletes the reference to the file and overwrites the data as time goes on as its much quicker
So as an NPC your world will just slowly decay and melt away until you're taken with it. That's arguably more terrifying than this lol
Beyond the edge of everlasting time,
Existence will grind to a dust so fine,
Our float in the world burns in a fire so hot,
As new data overwrites our prolonged file rot

Never thought i'd feel so sorry for a NPC! That was a freaking cool helmet btw.
God damnit Hoot I just got out of an existencial crisis and you put me into another right away
This isnt real. But what is real is that your waking life is actually dream. You are a God unconscious and dreaming that you are a human.
This is actually an incredibly comforting concept that you can just walk away from having to deal with it, I think that eventually the world would make a dystopian peace with their situation.
This just feels a little depressing. Makes me feel bad about all those deleted game files.
This is honestly one of the most horrifying existences imaginable
Tbh, the idea is amazing and would make a good game:
The “main charakter“ would do the usual hero stuff during the prologue but then the “player“ would stop playing in a cutscene.
And then one of two things could happen:
1) The threat/bad guy/... would still be there to be there to destroy the world and a random npc has to become the hero
2) With the hero gone and the data deleted, the world of the game would be about to end. So you, as the npc, have to save the world by finding and restoring the date
I'd play a well written game like that
It could also be a good series.
NETFLIX ORIGINALS
@@ArmadilloJohn Please no netflix
it would be nice to play a game like that and we could be a guard walking around a city patrolling to see if there's any trouble and if not we continue our patrol while listening in to a variety of stuff people say and if we hear any unusual we can tell the hero of said game: "I've heard there's a bandit camp nearby to the north of kantrila city and they've stolen a valueable sword which has been passed down for generations, i'm sure the owner of said sword would love you to retrieve it for them."
You mean kinda like the Magic Circle?
@@ErickRiosJaquez what is the magic circle?
Thats actually quite clear in Dark Souls. Deleting the save means you have admitted the defeat, given up, and are becoming one of the enemies you fought.
Don't you dare go hollow!
Is there a video I can find on this? I’m morbidly curious now
Unless you delete it after finishing the game, then you could argue (depending on the ending I think) that you just sacrificed yourself.
I more than deleted that game. I snapped the disk, the controller and smashed the cd drive through to the rear of the console. Phuk Dark Souls, and any game similar to it. They can all do a line of congealed toe jam off a hobo's ass crack.
Well, if DS is that meta, then the best ending is actually not playing the game at all. The main villains are From Software who created an entire world just for NPCs and players to suffer, and made you pay for it ! D=
NGL I'll never forget my dex build I saved from purgatory. Left it alone for like 2 years before saying "fuck it" and going back at it with a bastard sword.
Knowing the whole Hollow thing it felt good saving my one undead champion *and* Solaire
Because you never leave a sunlight bro behind
I actually wrote a speculative essay on this back... oh 20 years ago. I went really esoteric with it by the end of it, presenting postulates that, since bugs arise from wrong coding, what if when you shut the game off, random bits of code, charged by capacitors, somehow continued to fire? What if the game world some how persisted? What would that state look like?
It was pure horseshittery, obviously, but it won me a MASSIVE (for the time) 256MB flash drive (that I still use to this day). Was even leather wrapped! Super fancy.
Strangely, the exact opposite is usually the case for me. Everybody is saved and happy, all the quests are done, I've rebuilt entire towns to their full glory, and left behind a legacy of goodwill and cheer for my adopted children.
But the main character is gone. Whatever becomes of the worlds I build, there is only one constant.
I am dead and gone.
It is my duty now to do all sidequests. it's a matter of honor. No NPC will go through this pain on my watch.
Damn I actually never took it that way, All those save fiels i deleted, all those characters forever forgotten in that timeline, I now question is it cruel to leave that save files world and forever leave the people of that timeline in an eternal limbo with no direction ever for all of eternity? It's like having a multiverse and erasing that multiverse from existence...damn
I'm the hitler of 10,000 worlds. What have I done?
Time to start a new save on stellaris. I'm sure they can handle the end game crisis without me.
Yet without your influence, they will act on their own.

I see a potential isekai anime plot, with a twist.
-Player deletes game.
-Save File World drifts for thousands of in-game years.
-Different player buys game, but because [insert plot device/twist/random bs] the drifting world is dropped into the download packet, and the game resumes.
-The new Player explores a corrupted game where everything is overgrown and glitched and the NPC'S cling to him, begging him not to leave/not to delete the game.
- The Bosses and enemies beg him to kill them; in order to fulfill their programed purposes and to end their suffering.
- The 'enemies' that the Player now has to contend with, are the NPC'S who went insane from millenia of wandering, or are corrupted. (And, in true anime fashion, there is the one antagonist who ENJOYED the Endless Wandering, and wants to get rid of the MC/delete the save file so that their world can drift again)
-The Game is no longer a cliché RPG, the Player now spends his in-game hours trying to restore the mental health of the NPC's, and find new ways to keep them entertained. When logged off, the Player is researching the game and developers, trying to figure out:
1. How the NPC'S became self aware.
2. How this save file came to be in its current state, and why it is now on his console/pc.
Potential Endings:
1. Player figures out how to delete the save file in such a way that the world ends for good, and thus the NPC'S won't have to wander/suffer.
2. Player uncorrupts the save file, and finishes the game the way it was meant to be.
3. Player manages to evacuate the NPC'S to a different game via [insert random bs].
4. NPC'S are somehow isekai'd into the real world.
5. Player is isekai'd into the game.
6. Same as 5, but the save file is deleted, and is randomBS'd into Another Player 's download. Anime ends with the original Player becoming an NPC, and it is implied that the cycle is restarted.
7. Similar to 2, Player Reboots the save file, undoing the millenia of unchecked environment overgrowth/corruption, and start the game from the very beginning...only, despite the main save file being wiped of all memory/progress, the NPC'S have chronic sense of deja vu regarding the Player, with some even retaining faint memories of the Drifting.
8. Similar to 3, the save file crashes into/docks with/dumps the NPC'S into a different game on the Player's console/pc...chaos ensues.
Alternative Plot:
-Instead of a deleted save file, the Player is isekai'd into a game-like world where 'time' has been stopped for millenia/centuries, but brain activity and body movement are still possible. Even if someone is wounded, they cannot die, as it requires time for blood to leave the body. Thus there are countless dismembered/shredded corpses that are still alive, but are unable to move, what with dismemberment and all, and it is implied that they will die when/if time resumes. There could then be individuals who have say, had their head chopped off and then somehow(staples/ducttape/stiches) fasten it back on...these individuals would then be against the resuming of time, as they would then die.
I have put way too much thought into this.
It's 4 am.

@Thawne if it’s the “endless times” then why would they wake him up? To make him suffer more? The one guy that did wake him up saw something different from the others. He saw a confused man that has no idea what was going on and would likely be waiting forever if it wasn’t for him
This pretty welly nails the over-all story of Dark Souls. :p
