I lost some ixora and a plumeria in the front, and 3 Pygmy date palms in the back. The greenwall plants froze up also, but everything else did alright!!
I've heard people say not to fertilize before you fixing to do a scalp because you can suck up the the fertilizer frills, maybe not as much with the reel but when you start picking it up with a bagger on a rotary?
Correct- the reel doesn’t catch any prills. It all depends on if you watered it in well and started the breakdown process before you mowed! If the prills are still sitting on top of the lawn- I could see some of them being picked up.
Depending on your climate, I would look for a sturdy, traffic tolerant grass. Warm season- Bermuda. Cold season- KBG or Perennial Rye are towards the top.
Not necessarily- I used some dirt and peat moss when I seeded, but it wasn’t really that level. It’s still not as level as I’d like, but it’s a process!
It’s been thought of a couple times, but I don’t really have the means or time right now! If I do it- there’s some serious drainage and leveling out that needs to happen! 🤣
@@donslawns1 i bought it. It's awesome. Works on st Aug and bermuda fantastically. .2-.25oz/1k` I'm in Houston. Heavy rains and long term rain are no longer a nemesis with it.
Yes, I bagged up the clippings. I tend to use fertilizers from YardMastery- I have an affiliate link in my descriptions. An excellent alternative is the Scott’s GreenMax, which you can find at any big box store.
You are helping me to grow this sort grass for my cricket ground. From India, Assam, Karbi Anglong district.
Bermuda is a beast. Yours is looking beautiful. Cheers dude
Thanks man!! I appreciate ya! ✊🏼
It’s looking awesome! Excellent work👍🏻
Thanks bro!! Hoping to keep it green all year! 💪🏻
Love the details you put in the St. Augustine! Nice edging and pathways you got going on.

Been waiting on some Mclane action!! Super stoked just added my roller on mine! That half inch looks great brother!
Thanks man, it’s hard to keep it mowed right now!! 😅
Looking good 👊🏼🔥
Thanks!! I appreciate the support!!
I just scalped mine monday because it was so thick my manual reel mower was hanging up in it bad.
😂🤣 I feel ya!
Please send some rain to the west coast. We often forget how to function when we don’t have sunshine everyday. Lol. Lawns looking buddy…be safe
😂 You ain’t lying! Hope you guys catch a break!!
Where did you get the maclane, how much, and which model?
I got it off Facebook marketplace in Austin- paid $300, and a little bit to fix it up/put the roller on it. It’s perfect for my situation!
Lawn looks great though!! Just curious how much plants did you end up losing because of that hard freeze y'all had back in March/february?

Thanks for the video! I've never actually thought of doing this at this time of year. Awesome info as always brother!
Thanks buddy!!! I appreciate your support! 💪🏻
The question is. How often do you shampoo that carpet ? It looks amazing :)
I try to shampoo once a month.. 😎 😂 thanks bro!
is that the mohawk/sutan 6 blend? (stagreen)
Yep!! 💪🏻
Whats a best grass for cricket ground bro?
Depending on your climate, I would look for a sturdy, traffic tolerant grass. Warm season- Bermuda. Cold season- KBG or Perennial Rye are towards the top.
What does it mean when you hit dirt high spot?
Means you have a high spot, you can correct it by sand leveling the lower areas over time. Best of luck!
Did you have to level your yard first to have the Bermuda that short?
Not necessarily- I used some dirt and peat moss when I seeded, but it wasn’t really that level. It’s still not as level as I’d like, but it’s a process!
Beautiful! Any thoughts of converting your whole lawn to bermuda.......?
It’s been thought of a couple times, but I don’t really have the means or time right now! If I do it- there’s some serious drainage and leveling out that needs to happen! 🤣
@@donslawns1 do you ever use PGR
No I haven’t used it yet, but considering it in the future

@@williamjonson6845 awesome!! It’ll definitely be on my list in the future!
Did you bag your scalp right? And do you a name-brand fert that anyone can find? I am attempting this tomorrow.

@@donslawns1 Thanks for taking the time to reply!!
