I’m so thankful you are sharing your techniques. I have been following you for a LONG time, and there is a cup style you do that I would love to see, it’s the style you did for the Post Malone/olena Tyrell cups where you blend the photo into your background
I just happen to come across this video and had to watch, the cup is beautiful. I wasn’t even looking for this type of video but now I have to make one!!!! lol. I watched your whole video and you do an amazing job at explaining each step you are doing. I’ve watched A LOT of these tumbler videos and learned things from each video but I don’t think I’ve come across a video that is this explanatory without all that extra crap like kids in the background, music/too loud and having a bunch of other constant talking that has nothing to do with what you’re doing. I can actually watch your whole video from start to finish! And the fact that you typed EACH step in your description is impressive! I’ve never seen that b4. I’ve never used a waterside. This maybe a stupid question lol... I’m confused. Do you print on waterslide paper then coat with something to get it to slide off? This cup is amazing! I really want to try it!

First off, thank you so much for doing this. I can watch your tutorials alllll day :). I know you mentioned that you use alumilite epoxy, so you have any recommendations of what I can do to slow down yellowing or stop it all together. Thank you again.
Kerrie Rosheuvel thanks for watching. I’ve been using Alumilite for a really long time and have not encountered an issue with yellowing so i have no advice there. There’s a dye you can use but I’ve never tried it.
Flynn Sisters Boutique do you ever have issues with the heat rating? I left mine in my car while using allumilite and the epoxy warped, but that brand I got the nicest finishes
LeLoriPants no I’ve never had an issue with that either. I’ve sold over 1k cups over the years and shipped all over the country (including the south and many hotter climates) and never a complaint about it. Like not once. So I’ve never had a reason to address those issues. Idk if maybe I just got lucky or what? I do understand the advantage to other brands but the cost/efficiency is the best for us. 😊 Maybe you try using alumilite on lower layers and finish with a high heat/UV formula. So you’re still getting a good an easy finish at a great price then protecting it all with a better brand. Hope that makes sense
Flynn Sisters Boutique yes that makes total sense, ive actually thought about doing that but i didn’t know exactly how it would react That’s really good to know. My inability to get my cups super smooth has been what’s keeping my prices lower because I don’t want to charge a ton for sometime that has a few bubbles but alumilite I always had better luck with in that department
This is one of my favorite cups that you do. I’ve even thought about painting marble hahaha didn’t know it was a water slide. Do you just look for any image?
Michelle Santana I’ve done the painted ones too and they can actually be easier sometimes lol. Yes, I search for digital scrapbook paper or digital background images for prints like this
Thank you. I’ve painted them also but I realized one day that waterslide might be easier. I look for “digital background” or “digital scrapbook paper” when searching for marble prints because the resolution is best for what I’m doing
Hello. I know this is an older video. Hoping you see the question. I’ve been binge watching your videos and love all of them. Thank you for sharing. My question is regarding polycrylic. I am going to start venturing into tumbler making. Could I essentially do all my initial layers (designs, glittering, decals) with polycrylic then just finish the cup with epoxy? If so, how many layers of epoxy would you recommend over the polycrylic? I. Thinking this may be a more budget friendly way to start making tumblers if in fact it can be done this way.
Omg how I love this tutorial!!! I cannot wait to try my take on the Split Cup! But question? If you can’t get the CCDIY Quick Coat right away because you need it sooner rather than later, is there anything else that you would recommend from a Craft Store to Seal in the glitter before epoxying the entire cup?
So after you apply the resin, you then apply a thin layer of Polycrylic, got it. And how long do you let the resin dry before you apply it? Also, it is a really thin layer of it I am assuming, right? Apologies if you already answered this in the video. I was trying to watch and work at the same time 😛
Hi Jessica. I absolutely love all your videos! Could you tell me if it's best to print the waterslide on a clear or white waterslide sheet? I think clear but i'm not sure. Thank you, Shelley
I know this is a long shot since this video is super old; however I noticed that you posted what tape you use in the description. I was wondering that’s the width that you’re using 2 in, 1 1/2, etc. Thanks so much.
Have you seen the technique where you twist painter's tape into a string, sticky side out , light the end with a match, move over the tumbler and you can get the same smokey effect as the water slide your doing.
Do you print the water slide on glossy settings ? I have an inkjet and I tried putting the water slide on the cup but the ink was smearing. I spray sealed it 3 times. It also got very squishy, it didn’t look like yours did at all 😩 I purchased the same brand too
I love your work!!!! I have a question, I did a split tumbler and sealed my glitter with polycrylic and my glitter sparkle wasn't there anymore. it was the green can clear gloss polycrylic. it was black fine glitter.
that sounds like an issue with the type of glitter you're using then. I have a feeling that glitter would have done the same under just epoxy? Certain black glitters tend to loose their sparkle under epoxy.
Esperanza Lopez full adhesive vinyl is a little different. You’d do the vinyl first before glitter, then tape off and do your glitter side. I’m going a video on full and partial vinyl wraps here soon! 😍

Flynn Sisters Boutique thank you for the fast response!! Is there a particular brand you use? I’ve tried Rustoleum clear spray but they seem to crack and I’ve tried plastidip and they don’t stick very well to my epoxy with that
I use the Rustoleum 2x clear gloss and Kodiak Brand paper. The cracking can come from the slide and spray becoming brittle if they sit too long to dry. From printing to application should take about 15 mins
