- Probably. Despite how much RGG Studio copy and paste stuff from their own games, they've actually had a lot of things that have been forgotten to time. Even with about 128 different recordings, I still didn't get all of them. Well anyway, here's all of the ones that I recorded, and please consider the following:
Firstly, here's the video referenced at the start, where RGG Studio reuse a million assets:

But then also also:
1. Again, this is not all of them. Some I simply forgot about, others were for reasons below.
2. Unlike the video linked above, the game each heat action was from was not the first and/or last, but instead just a random one. The little logo in the bottom left is just to help identify which game is which (except for one Kiwami clip I accidentally labelled as 5 whoops).
3. The games shown were ones where I actually had the abilities unlocked, were easy to record in, I could mute the music/hide the HUD in, or again were just a random pick.
4. I figured a majority of the Yakuza 6 and Kiwami 2 heat actions might appear in Gaiden, so they weren’t included.
5. Finally, there are some ones that Kaito has that are in the video (like the bike slam) but then some that he has that aren’t in the video. It’s mostly ‘cause I heavily featured his heat actions in the previous video and also because I really don’t know when we’ll get to play as Kaito again. Although knowing RGG Studio he’s probably just gonna get the Akiyama in 6 treatment lol.

this has quickly made me realise that ishin’s heat actions are decidedly the most brutal ones

Something else unlikely to return is the anti heat action qte’s in Ishin. Some of the bosses activate a qte you need to hit before you can do some of the easier heat actions on them, it hasn’t ever reappeared, and it’s a shame because it’s cool and makes the game slightly harder
100% agree with this. I actually pointed this out while playing Ishin, and I thought it was a really nice touch because not only does it add a cool animation (with a nicely done transition) but as you say, it also ups the difficulty just a little bit more in a non-annoying way
another thing I noticed is the different options for how to continue a heat action. usually you just get the one qte, but in ishin you can do different follow ups which is so cool
Also makes the bosses feel more competent, like no they're not just gonna stand there and take that, they'll at least try to counter you. Especially when the person you're fighting is hyped up as being really strong or skilled it adds a lot
loved shinada's heat actions. some of those are prob my favs just because you can tell he's just thinking about shit on the fly to me
Thats pretty accurate considering he's a very unexperienced compared to most protaginist. He doesnt fight all the time like the others.
@@watersheep5535 Yeah, and taking all that into consideration he probably has the potential to be the strongest of all of them if he's this creative and strong enough to do these with absolutely zero prior training and practice.
In all honesty I remember playing the kaito files and after seeing them reuse heat actions from the first yakuza on ps2 it feels like anything is on the table in terms of asset reuse. Not that I have a problem with that especially how little development time the devs are given to make the games, I do appreciate the resourcefulness on the devs part.

Seeing kaito using the ultimate slap was a great callback for an heat action, they even added a kick on the end
One that also never returned is the Kiryu tauting heat action, that one is really cool and could be only done on normal enemies

I’ve always found it weird that Akiyama never got that heat action since he is shown to be a chainsmoker and has several upgrades built around taunting.
@@_insomniac_423 I think they're talking about a different heat action, where as the enemy runs in, Kiryu jumps on their knee and does some frontflip kick, I think.
Love the Yakuza 5 bike ride heat action. Very fun.
Seeing Majima's Y0 heat actions again makes me realize how fitting some of them would be for Yagami, hopefully if there is another Judgement game with Yagami they end up reusing some of them for his moveset because theres for sure some EX moves I never even bothered using.

Well, the opposite did happen recently
I can see Yagami using some of Akiyama and Tanimura's moves. I'm conviced Snake Style is what they tried to do with Tanimura back in Y4.
Man do I appreciate that The heat actions were recorded in 4K and no hud! They have never looked that beautiful! To top it off the in-game music is even off.
I never really had a problem with reused heat actions or enemy movesets, if the heat actions look fine I don't mind seeing them again and there's only so many ways you can make someone punch even new movesets are bound to have some overlap

Majimas umbrella heat action in 0 makes me wish we used an umbrella in the slugger style instead of the bat like in the intro of Yakuza 1.
That’d be interesting actually, though I feel like the bat is going the better option, but they could’ve given the umbrella a unique moveset or something

theres a fair reason to why tanimura's and shinada's (hands throwing) HA were never reused, its because of that his heat actions are too unique compared to other characters

Also this video has made me realise that the animators at RGG Studio are insane. Considering the dialogue cutscene animations we get (that have literally been reused since the PS2/3 era), it is crazy to see the dial turned all the way up to 11 when you press Triangle with some heat bars filled lmao
True but at the same time, I really do wish they finally updated those dialogue animations lol

@@StefKa02nah the goofy old ass animations are a staple of the franchise. Every time I see that weird laugh animation or the wacky finger snap my heart is filled with joy
it made me extremely happy when I realized a good chunk of yagami's ex actions are ripped straight from tanimura
Even if these heat actions won’t appear in future games, RGG could very easily reuse these animations for new skills/abilities/summons in LAD 8 and beyond.
One of the few that makes sence is the one that Tanimura arresting the enemy, he's a cop, so he had hand cuffs at his arsenal
Imagine RGG does an poll for which heat action to come back and all the choices are tanimura’s heat actions as their way of saying he’s returning

Kiryu's smoking taunt and normal taunt heat actions are really really satisfying, so sad that they never made a return after 5

I still don't understand why they removed that "riding bicycle heat action" from 5. Like it makes more sense to do it that way and both "ridiculous and realistic in rgg way"
I wouldn’t be surprised if it was just because of its length considering the OTHER bike heat action was like 2 seconds long but I dunno
do the people who designed hell's gauntlet really concern themselves with length

Honestly I'm kind of glad Majima's heat actions haven't just been given to another character, the mix of unorthodox acrobatics and cruelty feels so distinctly Majima that giving it to another character would just kind of cheapen there impact for me, I've got no problem with asset re-use but it's important that it fits the character first, getting to re-use those assets does sound like a decent excuse to make Majima playable in another game tho c;

Fabulous no doubt hard work on the video! Working my way through Yakuza 3, started 4 after hearing 3 wasn't worth it but went back, it's not as bad as foretold (block fest). I just have 4,5,6 left after 3 having played Like a Dragon, Judgement, Lost Judgement first but it kicked off my desire to start at Yakuza 0 and play them in order. I'm excited to crack some heads with all the heat actions I saw with characters I haven't even played with yet!
Yeah 3’s not at all a bad game, just a little tedious to playthrough compared to others. Not just for blocking and whatever too but also for some sections where you have to just walk back and forth and do nothing until you can progress, but I mean a lot of games have that

i love him as a character but i get the hate for his combat, it feels very limited compared to all other characters, he has the least heat actions and least amount of combos, sure he's strong, he's just the least fun to play as imo, even shinada is more interesting at least
@@swaggymungdaal there’s actually a descent amount of stuff you can do with him, you just gotta experiment. I also watched some people no damage with him and learned how to cheese some bosses with him. But yeah I agree he needs more heat actions.

yagami's grab ex action with tiger near a wall in judge eyes is first appearing in yakuza 3 which is pretty neat. You can activate it by grabbing an enemy from behind near a grated fence, e.g. the coliseum, and exists in yakuza 4 and yakuza 5 if I'm not mistaken. (I'm not sure where you can activate it in yakuza 4, but in yakuza 5 Kiryu's final long battle has one spot that I know of that can activate it)
as an interesting aside: in yakuza 3, this specific heat action randomly will bug and deal double damage
modders on their way to mod every single one of these heat actions back into the games

Two I'll miss are both majima heat actions. Him grabbing the sword with his teeth one and probably my favorite heat action "you're so pathetic". The pliers heat actions though? Those can leave and I don't think anyone would miss them
I like how essence of Dragon King had its kick repurposed for Yagami and the Poundmates summon.

Coming back to this video to point out some of them are reused in Gaiden, that game also reuses some things that haven’t been reused before that point.

Crazy to think that Kiwami 2 and the subsequent Dragon Engine games brought back SO MANY heat actions... Yet, there are still a crapload that have not reappeared to date. Kiwami has heaps of them man. Same with Majima, and based Shinada. The umbrella heat action is reserved only for the GOAT, so it makes sense that it won't come back unless Shinada also comes back.

Aside from a couple of heat actions attributed to the wrong game, it's indeed a nice video!
