He sang this at the 2006 Winter Olympics...his final performance. He passed away in 2007 at the age of 71 of pancreatic cancer. The greatest.
Thanks for the great reaction! Heard him sing this live, and it was spine tingling. Believe or not there are some great videos of Pavarotti singing duets with pop and soul artists, like James Brown, Barry White, Tracy Chapman, Bono, John Bon Jovi and Celine Dion! Definitely worth watching!

This performance was like a lightning bolt. Many thought Luciano was a heavy man. He wasn't. He carried the whole choir and orchestra within his body.

Maybe because he simply is NOT the greatest??? He's solid...but virtuosity..the tone and timbre of Pavarotti..nope!

That's great you referenced Skyrim at the end as well. Yeah man one of my favorite things is to just go into those Northern Hinterland taverns where a dragon's going to show up anytime and waste everything you never know but in the meantime there's somebody that's a bird I guess and you have some chick playing a heart and it's so old school classical broke kind of stuff and it feels so good.

I think this is a perfect example of how lyrics really don't matter in a great song. this is completely in Italian , correct ?.......therefore I didn't understand a word he sang......nor did I need to ........just sayin'
