Moreso made this video to show off the cool chain order art, but if you don't care about that, you can just stop watching after the first three unity attacks as they're all basically the same lmao
I kind of wish they had unique animation for certain pairs who have a direct relationship, especially for Shulk and Rex's Sword of Liberation. If you want to make it even better, they should exchange personal mottos with Rex saying "I'm really feeling it" and then Shulk commenting "I like your attitude" at the end of the attack.
A + Shulk | Both wielders of The Monado A + Rex | Both currently wielding Aegis Blades A + Matthew | Both also wielding Aegises (on Technicality) Shulk + Nikol | Father & Son Shulk + Rex | Bl- I mean Both Fathers Rex + Glimmer | Father & Daughter Nikol + Glimmer | Son & Daughter Matthew + Rex | Great Great Grandfather & Great Great Grandson Matthew + Glimmer | Great Grand-aunt and Great Grand-nephew? 0th Cousins 3 times removed? Glimmer + A | Maternal Aunt? Maternal Uncle? Maternal Parent's Sibling. that's 10 meaningful connections the player knows of out of 15 combinations. At that point may as well give them all something unique. I suppose that also makes A and Alpha Rex's in-laws. And Logos too now that I think of it. And hey, since Nia's a flesh eater and contains her "sister's" life, does that mean she doubles as Rex's wife and sister in-law?
I don't know why, but compared to base XC3 with their Ouroboros finishes, these feel... undercooked. Especially the moment you realise that every single one reuses animations. Functionally, yeah, it is cool, but if you don't get the launch combo it will lack the "oomph" completely. Its weird to see something that resembles a cut corner in game so polished as XC3, but this is definitely it - just as Rex and Shulk as heroes are (they don't have any quotes, basically they are mute as heroes, no one can inherit their class or outfit either and their camp animations are either "sit" or "stand")
The biggest mistake was linking Union Combo to break. It is just not viable for you to break high lvl monsters consistently. Ouroboros on the other hand, you can use it in every situation barring Demihuman Gutter and Gauntlet.
@@GamingFreakShow1991 I have to disagree. It's all a matter of how you build you party. Give Rex access to his Break-Topple Fusion Art, give Matthew, Shulk, and Rex a Break Broch, and give the Party Chain Attack Manuals that help to ensure that Matthew, Shulk, and Rex are constantly reactivated during Chain Attacks while boosting damage output, and the only enemies you aren't going to Break eventually are the Slow and Steady Duo since they are outright immune to it. Everything else will Break sooner or later just from how quickly Matthew and Rex can recharge their Arts.
Yeah no unless you really need a smash for some reason... Just use rex and glimmers. Red hot firelight with an optimal setup on hard mode... literally _shatters_ the damage cap and then some. And for the superbosses... two shots _three of them_ Its bloody nuts
Am i the only one bother that Shulk doesn't get to have a 2 times focus on all of these Unity attacks, it's like everyone has priority over the guy that made possible that this franchise exist... A bit more of respect from the Devs please.
Honestly, despite all the hits the main game and dlc had, this for me was kinda meh. The mechanic itself is cool, but standing here for 10 seconds every god damn time kinda killed the rythm of battle and it got old real fast. Union Combo from Tales of Arise (a garbage game) and their flashy 3 seconds, despite getting old fast too, take the cake on that one

“Now then, let’s begin”
Shulk you’re not allowed to just say that
Well at least he didn't begin the experiment
@@DenisCreatorBreaker ok Lindon
@@TheFinalHedghog Swing and a miss.
Even if it's just reusing animations, it's fine. If there was only one thing they could change, maybe partner quotes would be cool.

Had me thinking Shulk and A's could be called Dual Monado or something
A + Shulk | Both wielders of The Monado
A + Rex | Both currently wielding Aegis Blades
A + Matthew | Both also wielding Aegises (on Technicality)
Shulk + Nikol | Father & Son

Rex and Mattew ain't gonna sugarcoat it
*repeated DAAAAYUM!*
Omg i completely forgot how weird Nikol's voice was. It's like a child trying to sound like their father over the phone

they’re just lv4 blade combos
@@trappercap They really are. I just wish they leaned into that more, with no launch requirement.
Probably because of how quickly it was released, wouldn't surprise me if in like 1-2 years we get a launch Xeno(series) on the switch2.

It's actually random who leads the unity attack out of the two, it's just coincidence that shulk doesn't lead in any of them in this video
Yeah. He’s really not feeling it.
@@thecraftymattt I think this shows that i have not had the time to play this game, i have the DLC, but not the time T-T
Yeah it’s random, in my experience almost always it was Shulk the lead
Outside of chain attacks, the one who you're controlling is usually the focus of the unity combo. However, in chain attacks it is random
Does Na'el have any unity moves with others?
unfortunately no
@@yeorelz Thank you for letting me know.
They just do the same animations with different characters. I see no creativity on this.

Disappear, you ignorant bastard!
I think Shulk's and A's is the coolest
