- Victor Wooten's trio is a powerhouse outfit, even when it's just a duo. A saxophonist working with just bass and drums usually has a lot of work to do, but sax/flute player Bob Franceschini told me that working with Wooten and Dennis Chambers on bass and drums is a different story.
Even without Chambers' drumming, Victor Wooten was more than able to provide a fat rhythm section on his own live in the KNKX studios. Franceschini did provide some rhythm on sax, in tight collaboration with Wooten's bass, but was mostly adding his own flowing melodic lines.

I know that Wooten is considered amongst many to be one of the greatest bassists ever, but his music still deserves even more recognition, along with those who accompany his solo projects. His creativity on the bass is dangerous to reckon with.
He is the greatest bass player. Still alive. Best of all time is iaco pastrious

it 's the flow and the feel...not only the technique. Wooten has them all.
In my humble opinion Victor is hands down the best bass player to ever live...but is also maybe in the top ten best musicians of all time. he breathes and bleeds the utmost expert musical ability

@@dmacrolens I'm pretty sure Wooten is one of Berthoud's biggest influences tbf, both are crazy talented and I think it's hard to compare the two at this point
Harmony after 2 minutes gets really tight. Victors solo gets slapping and picking fast and things get funky. Enjoyed it all top to bottom.
I think I'm going to watch that again.

I saw them with Dennis Chambers recently, he definitely added to the flavor in the pot.

The things I would do to see Victor Wooten live
I mean no disrespect towards the great bass players past and present, but Victor Wooten is one of the greatest bass players since Stanley Clarke. He’s that good.
Mikki Farmer now who cares there’s plenty of great bassists who play a part along the other great musicians, burning down the pile, big time. Its no contest as long as you can enjoy it - but in terms of the raw statement I can absolutely agree - if every song in this world would have a bass part of victor Wooten it would rather be a better place to be!!

He's the next Jaco as far as I'm concerned. Instantly recognizable, unique style, a composer, band leader and member, brings the bass to the forefront like Jaco did.

Fodera bass is a 10.000 bass it will sound like an "angel Harp" and of course you need the techniques too.

This is a duo .. I can't understand why the cameraman has to zoom in at all on a particular player.... and shifting here and there... just project at both players once as you did at the end..
