His #1 issue is he cant shoot the ball. Teams would sag off of him and he was terrible behind the arc and in the mid range. This happens when players have an incredible ability to get to the bucket and they never have to worry about that aspect of their game until the competition is equal. A guard in the NBA that can't shoot has no value at all in todays game.

This is the danger of waiving ones eligibility too early and declaring for the draft not knowing truly where you stand amongst your class...honestly college basketball is where you really build a name for yourself...the undrafted g league route is not pretty... and you could find yourself trapped there indefinitely...he could have easily done another year to build up his draft stock and show scouts more of his play... everyone’s path is not the same... not everyone is going to be a one and done

I am not hating on a young man either. I wish he improves on his defiencies because he has a lot of gifts. He is very capable of better and having an NBA career.

It is obvious he must have big time upside as shown in practices which keeps him on the active roster, but that will only last so long. The league is looking for young potential stars. Potential will get you drafted afterwards they expect you to show right away unless you have crazy upside potential or else you will get swapped around then out the league. Look at Porter, I knew he had game, they pretty much gave him away for nothing now in houston they are talking about him being an all star.
