His #1 issue is he cant shoot the ball. Teams would sag off of him and he was terrible behind the arc and in the mid range. A guard in the NBA that can't shoot has no value at all in todays game.

Duvall was a savage in high school. However I believe Duke was not the right school for him. He should've went to a school where the coach would allow him to play his game and where he could really shine, he would've been a lottery pick for sure. Or stay at least one more year at Duke and develop his game. Basically, he wasn't NBA ready, now he's bouncing around the G League with no stable contract

DUKE had nothing to do with him "failing" he would of had this same outcome wherever he went. He couldn't even stick in the G-league talent is talent. The man can't shoot isn't as athletic as he was advertised coming out of high school and has a low basketball iq he has alot of holes in his game. I think he peaked as a junior in high school that's why his rank continued to fall. If we’re being honest, playing in a real college system exposed his game.. from what I saw on “hoop mixtape” he was an extremely athletic guard that was great in transition, not the best shooter, and that’s about it.. you saw what happened when he got to Duke and really had to learn how to play in a half court set, he simply just wasn’t a threat from outside and being the primary ball handler in today’s game, that’s a must.. dude was a top ten player in his class too and a projected high draft pick.. all I’m saying is people can’t be fooled by these up n down street ball mixtapes.. that shit isn’t gonna work in college, let alone the pros..

Shame that he is not in the NBA but they say that he cannot shoot. Every year there are a new crop of young college players and overseas players with loads of potential and talent trying to get into the league. If you miss your opportunity, it seldom comes around again. For his size, he needs to be either a great shooter or a great playmaker or both. He probably is just not good enough for the NBA.

You gotta really separate yourself tho in the g league. It’s not as good as nba comp. if you putting up regular numbers there a lot of guys end up putting up no numbers when they get to the league. Even guys who do stand out in g league go to the league and end up being pretty solid but not as good as they were doing in g league. The more age you got on you plays a part as well. They rather take a fresh star out of college and build with that. The g league isn’t even that bad tho tbh the competition is way higher than it use to be when it was “d league” and everyone can’t fit in the nba.

Duke may have been a bad fit but at Duke they discovered Trevon had bad vision requiring contacts or googles. He got contacts and his vision improved and he played better. Now that he could see his next step was to work on his shot. It takes time to do that. Don't blame his college decision on everything. He had a bad jump shot and that is that. I am not hating on a young man either. I wish he improves on his defiencies because he has a lot of gifts. He is very capable of better and having an NBA career.

I know he will do well in the combine camps as he does well in showcases however his zero performances and low shooting percentages where will he end up? This should be a wake up call for all the guys duval situation. Look at Zaire who chose Stanford and did wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than Boston, yet he did not declare or at least yet and does not seem like it but is projected to go high. These guys are getting crushed with false granduer as mcdonalds all american then if they do not tear up college other guys who were not ranked or moving up draft boards ahead of them like Cam Thomas, Moody from arkansas or pippen who killing the sec scoring. @@algrolls Hmmmm, I have to beg to differ, I think you have to produce decent numbers as they look at percentages strongly especially from 3. Then they look at the numbers such as combine results then future potential. Guys like Reddish thrive at a combine with the Run and Gun Basketball, he is clearly among the best. Howevver, when you put him in a structured set offense, he seems to have mental lapse. It is obvious he must have big time upside as shown in practices which keeps him on the active roster, but that will only last so long. The league is looking for young potential stars. Potential will get you drafted afterwards they expect you to show right away unless you have crazy upside potential or else you will get swapped around then out the league. Look at Porter, I knew he had game, they pretty much gave him away for nothing now in houston they are talking about him being an all star.
