I have a TS Mini, Rat 2, and TC Electronic Spark Mini. The Spark Mini always comes at the end of my Distortion/Overdrive/Boost section. Still experimenting with pedal order, but use Orange amps. Pretty sure whatever sound I get out of it, that combo will sound amazing, but still finding my perfect tone, especially since I just outfitted my Les Paul with a Super Distortion in the Bridge and will be dropping in a Super 2 for the neck position, which will push the amp as well.
I was gonna get one of those amps but the guy at guitar center talked me out of it cause apparently they have reliability issues and had bad heating issues

I find that the BD-2 and Tubescreamer work really well together (my Tubescreamer variant is the TS-808) Stay safe and good luck with your pedal combo! :) :)
Was the tube screamer in the effects loop of each amp or was it guitar>TS>Front end of the amp? And with something like the tube screamer - what adjustments have to be made depending on if you're running it in the effects loop vs into the front? There are still lots of us out there with low/mid range amps that lack an effects loop and would need to know if the TS still works as advertised.
Distortion effects should generally be placed between the guitar and amp input, otherwise it's not pushing the preamp valves at all. That is almost certainly the setup he had.
@@Deadhansome compared your katana with a lamp amp next to it ... without putting too much money into a jtm45 plexi. but a marshall origin 20 for example, well you will be very surprised. you will see that your katana does not sound good and has no dynamics. the sound with a lamp is warm open and limpid round. you always have to compare with something to get an idea. @@quoimagueule628 apples and oranges. The Katana is an excellent amp for the money and all it takes is a little patience tweaking settings for a great sound. You obviously haven't spent enough time with one. it gets universally great reviews by many players around the world. Tube amps are a completely different ball game. Pointless comparing them.
I'm just surprised that you have no any noise coming from your guitar, this is great but at same time weird, were u using a noise gate ? if not , how did you make it
I love the tube screamer with lead guitar. and I love the rat2 for rhythm. I’m finding it hard to stack them together. Anybody done this ? Going into a boss katana 2
Hey Alan, I have found that putting the TS after the distortion pedal gives best results for leads. The reason being, you need the extra volume, and that only happens with the TS after your RAT. I think you’ve got a killer combo there. I hope you haven’t given it up by now. Do as I say and you will be just fine. I’ve done that myself.
Sort of a noob here, I have a Fender Princeton Reverb, a special edition model with a 12 inch speaker, I cant get it dirty up like this, even with my TS808. I notice in the video that the amp is ALREADY dirty and the TS seems to just sort of enhance the dirt that is already there. Can this pedal make my amp (which I'm told is a great pedal platform) go from clean distorted like this? Or does it need to already have a dirty channel? I'm so confused, and I tried to follow the lesson but he goes so fast lol.
Not keen on your strat tone Dagan. Were you on the bridge with a HSS strat....? I have a Maxxon (the original TS!) through a Princeton with a strat and it sounds way better than what I'm hearing here. And I'm a beginner :) Love the HB tones though!
the maxon od808 is not the same as the ts808. it is based on the same circuit but it does not have the same resistances. and it has a lot less momentum. the maxon sounds much worse. I tested both

Great video. Marshall sounds great. Shame that peavey has a great mid to treble sound, but absolutely no balls underneath it. Reaffirming my opinion that mini heads have no thump whatsoever.
I didn't understand a damn thing from this video. What does this pedal sound like in a real band with a real song? This is what I would like to hear instead of endless guitar garbage on all types of guitars. Play a specific solo, like Another Brick in the Wall. And then everything will be clear.
I play Les Pauls using a TS808 into a 1987x or now the Origin 50H, just mainly as a boost. I've always had a Tubescreamer it is essential gear to me.
Amazing Deagan!! Thanks for sharing so much wisdom!! Never stop making stuff like this please 👌👌👌
Just found 3 dagan videos all uploaded 3 minutes ago! 🤘🤘
Dagan is just having a fun time kicking that TS808 around... Awesome vidi...
Dagan, could you do a video similar or comparing this with a "klon" circut pedal? PLEASE!!!!!
I built a tube screamer from Stew Mac. Was a lot of fun and it sounds great.

Own a JTM30 amp, a TS808 tubescreamer works amazingly well with it, gives that Marshall roar of the higher gain Marshalls without any fizziness.
I was gonna get one of those amps but the guy at guitar center talked me out of it cause apparently they have reliability issues and had bad heating issues
It’s always green with lots of quirky but lovable variants running around…so the Loki of effects pedals. 💚
Tube Screamer also makes a lapsteel/pedal steel sound amazing.
Id like to see a video on setting on that Marshall, picked up a DSL 40 the other day and im lost, except for diming it.

I love that white SG!
I use a TS clone to boost a Big Muff. Get the fuzzy goodness and fat of the BM but not lost in the mix, and capable of palm muting and stuff.
I’m going to try this out thanks! Sounds like an awesome idea
I do the same things, sometimes a ds1 before the tube screamer or the big muff for the lead
Cool guitar! The spiral patterned one.
More is always more.
Brilliant.
I bought the bd2 . This one is on my wishlist. Does it work together? Great video like always👍

Straight up imo best demo and nice looking Sub on the wrist. 👍👍👍
Best combo i've ever had is my Maxon 808 into my ProCo RAT and my Boss Katana 50 on the clean channel, so god damn good.
Love that you snuck a little reign in blood in there

sorry but on a katana it sounds bad. you need a lamp amp

A simple Boss sd1 would do, no need to get an expensive Tubescreamer. I personally use an MXR Wylde MK1 and it's mental 🤘

Great video!
I am running my Tube Screamer through a Peavey Vypr X2 distorted tone, and the sound I am getting has a lot of static. Any suggestions to fix that?
Hi guys in the first example as a clean boost do I turn it all the way down or just have the drive up just slightly?
Knowing there’s a threshold in the volume (“unity gain”) I’d make sure to keep the volume past 12 o clock.
whats the noise when you are talking?3.18 ...is it the box?
It's like watching a russell brand video except that you have talent.

Problem is, most Fender amps aren’t that dirty. I’d get an overdrive pedal and boost it with the TS. Boss OD3 comes to mind. Marshall Guv’Nor too.
I just use the ts9 mini to boost other overdrives, cause more is more...
Wonder if tube screamer sauce had been approved by the FDA for human consumption?
Yes, yes and thrice yes!

How to make a tube screamer sound good:
1) buy a great amp
2) crank it
3) pretend the tube screamer is doing all the work.
😂😂😂
Cant respond got blocked on u tube can u get eback on tom

Get yourself a noise gate..
Does the noise gate go before the tube screamer?
its sad that the ts808 looks so ugly
