    Pedego employee here. I have worked for Pedego for 3 years and have never had a warranty request denied!! we can usually warranty and fix the bikes within 1 week (if parts need to be shipped) and even same day if we have parts on hand!
    Also to note the battery falling asleep is intentional and turns off if the bike is not detecting any use for 15 mins. This is to make sure the bike was not accidentally left on draining the battery.
    I like to reference the setting 6 PAS mode as "workout mode" I mostly tell people its great for if your in a flat area and want to get a good exercise in (its a bike after all) and the throttle is there when needed for crossing street etc.

      It is also worth noting that in the setting menu you can "customize" the pedal assist in a sense. there is a top speed setting that if lowered will also incrementally lower all the other settings. For example if you find yourself liking to cruise at a speed that is in-between two PAS settings you can simply lower the top speed a few MPH and it will Lower all respective settings speeds as well.

      @@thebikeguy8352I bought a boomerang platinum at my local pedego shop last Friday after initially wanting an element platinum then changing my mind to a trail tracker. They gave me a loaner element V1 but that loaner has had the seat bend on me while riding, thorns puncturing the front tire, and a few days ago the rear tire just blew out while riding. I'm hoping my boomerang platinum is much more reliable. They seem like nice people at my local store but it also seems like things take a while to get done. They said it took 10 business days for another customer to get their boomerang platinum after ordering it so that means mine should arrive next Friday but they said it'll take a bit after it arrives since they're going to install custom knob tires to better grip trails and tannus liners.

      @@thebikeguy8352would you say this bike can handle the occasional dirt/unpaved trail? I ordered the boomerang platinum after seeing another customer's order at the shop with upgraded tires for trails and immediately liked the look and standard features. However, while waiting for my bike to arrive at the shop, I've been hearing/reading about these kinds of frames not being that good/can flex or bend while riding. I'm very scared/concerned now. I already paid for the bike but I'm wondering if I end up not liking it if they'd let me use the money I spent towards another model. Am I overreacting/worrying about nothing? Or did I buy the wrong type of bike?

      @@thebikeguy8352for some reason UA-cam keeps removing my comments. I wanted to ask if you know if it's true that bikes with these types of low step through frames flex/bend? I'm starting to think I should change my order to an interceptor platinum which is basically the same as the boomerang platinum feature wise but with a standard frame option.

    Thank you for the thorough review. Bought 2 of these yesterday, a 24" for my wife(including front and rear fenders) and a 26" for me(with the mag wheels) for $4800. We also upgraded to the 17.5 battery for both of them. Being new to e-bikes, we really appreciated the time that the owner gave us to shop around and compare different models, including riding around with us for a while to showcase all the features of the various bikes they sell. In my younger days(I'm 59), I'm sure I would have shopped around far more and bought one online based entirely on reviews, but now I much prefer the customer service and knowing that there is a shop close to home that knows the brand specifically. Can't wait to get out there and get riding.

      Thanks for sharing. Nothing wrong with paying for the extra service, for some it's worth the cost and I can appreciate that. Was that the total for both?

      Before the battery upgrades, yes. Took advantage of the summer sale and the owner gave us an even better deal for buying 2 of them.

    I have a Boomerang. Have had many bikes since the first one was
    introduced. This is the best one ever.

      If you don't mind me asking, how old are you and do you take yours on trails at all? I ordered a platinum boomerang after seeing one in the shop for another customer and it looked really good but now I'm a little worried from some people saying they aren't as stable/don't handle as well. I'm hoping I bought the right back. I don't go off road often but would hope with the upgraded knob tires I ordered that it can handle unpaved trails even for just a little bit.

    Some might say your review comes off as ageist... I feel an accessible bike that comes with great service and the best warranty in the industry would be attractive to many, not just seniors...
    I have a Pedego Avenue. I was willing to pay the extra money for the warranty and to have a store owner I can always call for assistance. Especially since I had never owned an electric bike before and have zero mechanical abilities
    The shop owner has even come to my house to pick the bike up for service since I don’t have a car that could accommodate an e-bike
    I love PAS6 because I like having a “Throttle only” mode as well as a “Peddle only” mode (Level 0)
    The gears on my bike are normal - on the right side and not twist - the throttle twists
    I never looked at the Boomerang but, last week when my hip and back were hurting (from gardeing), I suddenly realized what a bonus that super low would be
    All in all a great bike. I do resent having to have paid extra for every little accessory (fenders, rear rack, phone holder and lights). Plus the money I spent on separately purchased accessories - mainly a suspension seat post and a Terry gel saddle. But worth it! With the suspension seat, new saddle, gel gloves and wearing padded liners under my shorts, I feel like I could cycle for 100 miles and not get sore or tired.
    The best thing I purchased to help me with my riding was to swap out the stock Avenue handlebars and have some more similar to the curved ones on the Boomerang installed (store installed them for free!)
    All in all a great, powerful bike. I just rode 30 miles yesterday.
    As with every e-bike owner, I wish I could get more miles out of my battery! (I do have the upgraded battery - it's not as powerful as the upgraded one on the Boomerang)
    I hear what you're saying about the speed level peddle assist and it is annoying. Another issue is the battery goes from 5 bars to 4 within two miles. But that is a software issue. The battery actually lasts a long time. (30 miles yesterday left me on two bars)
    I was torn between getting this model and a torque bike. I think my next E-Bike will be a torque one (but still with a throttle). Now that I am getting into better shape I think I could pedal harder and my Pedego definitely does not require that! (I can set it on low PAS to make myself peddle more)

      I really appreciate your detailed comment especially sharing your own experience. I agree with you that others might also like what Pedego has to offer. My goal was to talk about Pedegos average customer and I fully realize that it's a bell curve with customers falling on each side. I didn't mean to be ageist so I apologize if it came across that way.

    I have the boomerang with upgraded battery. Love the bike but find it pretty top heavy for balancing. Low speed tight corners are challenging.

    Everyone seems focused on the premium price. I’m thinking hey wait a minute maybe we’re not paying enough. What is the goal? Should be to replace our cars with these bikes and every chance possible. To do that it is going to incur bit more of a premium cost as well as easier service like this company has.

    I am disabled and cannot pedal. Does anybody know what the no pedal range is with the 17.5 battery at around 10-12 mph on a level street?

  • @mkygod
    @mkygod Рік тому

    PAS 6 on that bike is basically the same as PAS 0 on some ebikes where throttle is still enabled without pedal assistance. I believe Ride1up bikes are programmed this way. I know my LMT'd is like that.

    • @EbikeEscape
      @EbikeEscape  Рік тому +1

      Yes, good point. I was a little thrown off by it being a separate PAS level which is maybe why I didn't think that it is indeed the same functionality as other ebikes. I guess it's nice to have PAS 0 give you no access to the throttle but still have the functionality for just using the throttle with no pedal assist.

    • @CodeDeb
      @CodeDeb Рік тому +1

      No it isn't. On the Pedego you can turn the throttle completely off and not have to worry about accidentally leaning on it and engaging it. For example, when putting the bike away in your garage or house.

    Well overpriced, but then again it would not be a pedego if it wasn't overpriced

      I thought so, too, but when I started to compare other makes, like Trek or Electra Townie, Pedego came out to be the same or lower priced, with a better warranty, features, and design. Also, the Pedego dealer was very informative and helpful. I didn’t get that from the other dealerships.

    • @rocklobster5074

      @@EbikeEscapethanks. I wasn't sure if it being a super low step through if it would be uncontrollable on unpaved trails/if there's a greater risk of falling off or something breaking. I saw the platinum in person that was another customer's order and it looked really nice. Plus I thought it would be more convenient to be able to not have to swing my leg over the frame to get in like all my previous bikes.
