Unfortunately it's still too powerful, despite not being auto-pick anymore it's still very punishing against daemons and grey knights and is dissuading a lot of people from running psykers in the first place just so they have the chance to use it.
so since Slaanesh Demons as a mono faction army are really good at melee, how well do they do against other melee based units like Space Wolves, Orks,Grey Knights, Harlequins, Sisters, Custodes and Tyranids
They're just like harlequins in that they basically get to pick and choose their fights. The big power of Slaanesh is in their ability to fight first so they always act as if they charged. They also have a lot of multi damage weapons that are flat 3, or flat 2. Additionally, adding things like bewitching aura and using Chaos Daemons stratagem Aura of Acquiescence you can get rid of things like shock assault plus an addition -1 attack and make them do less attacks towards your keepers or any other unit. I.E. instead of BGV's getting 21 attacks on the charge or charged only get 11 attacks.
As a goff player let me tell you it FEELS BAD losing 30 boys because slaanesh is guaranteed to get the first charge in. They are amazing as long as the terrain and spacing is good.

Please do Tzeentch, Nurgle and Khorne Daemons too unless you already have. Im considering starting a Chaos Daemon army and im unsure where to start. This list video is gold.
I ran an exalted seeker chariot in a mounted themed slaanesh army. Every model was a seeker chariot, a seeker, a fiend or a Keeper. The entire army threatened turn 1 charges, which actually made the chariots (I have 5) a little better, as the Keeper drew most of the enemy firepower turn 1.
The Enrapturess is pretty good if you play a summoning list - you actually didnt list her ability in the "pro" spot, which is kinda sad. But i understand your point as you clearly said you going to look the unit by the strenght in a mono army. Good video anyways - cheers!
This is awesome. I'm hoping to get into chaos demons, but not sure which faction. Hoping to soup factions if that can be viable in 9th, but we'll see. Keep up the great work, DiceCheck!
Daemon soup is actually the most effective way to play them atm, it's just slaanesh is the exception to the rule where their stuff works better on their own due to how good their loci is.
Daemons seem to be the best choice for any newcomers in warhammer since you can play them in both 40k and Age of Sigmar. I remember painting up my first plaguebearers and I was immediately hooked. Plus, who needs to play as mere mortal worshipers of chaos when you can play as chaos itself?
I'm running a regular exalted seeker chariot in a local 1000 pt tournament since its 1 detachment and the heavy support version is reasonably efficient pts for wounds to hold an objective and 4+ armor save
So noob question here. One of my best friends and I are wanting to get into 40k and something we can't figure out is, if you want to play chaos daemons, do you have to pick which chaos God you want to use before you build an army? The model has 3 stats that are tied to how many wounds it has left. When it drops below half wounds and 25% wounds respectively, its stats get worse. (If I remember off the top of the dome the exalted chariot loses Movement, WS and attacks.)
Just a question how many test games do you do before publishing those kinds of Tier Lists ? Some point don't reflect my experience with the list nor take into account tornament results. Still a lovely way to shine light on the community.
We try to do a large handful of playtests and different builds either IRL or on TTS to be comfortable with what's good and what's not as well as talking to our discord community. For Slaanesh, I've been playing them on TTS a lot and this is the list I found works best as them being a mono faction and not chaos undivided or chaos soup.
“Bracketing” is when models with a high number of wounds degenerate as they lose them. Usually, things like weapon skill, ballistic skill, and movement are affected
Take Furies, and the Mirror, use the flying Furies to tag a Plane in combat (they won't kill it, they suck in melee), but they are engaged with the plane so when they go to move it the Mirror stops it from falling back. If they can't go the minimum distance they Crash and Burn right away. Bye Bye Eldar Airforce! :)
Really new to 40k table top and been watching some of their videos from the tourney and was curious what bracketing is? Tried to look it up online but didn’t manage to figure it out .
I feel Iike the Enraptress should be C Tier imo. The ability to perils psykers paired with the daemonic possession Strat makes for a VERY dangerous combo and usually pays for herself! However the opponent needs to bring one so I get why she's in D (Slaanesh's favorite tier)
Can anyone explain what bracket means? I super enjoy the content, I just haven't played 40K seriously ever and only was ever REALLY into the painting aspect like 14 years ago. (I am old.)
i'm not massively into 40k, but its seems slaanesh and nurgle souped would work best. Slaanesh to rush opposition and prevent shooting with turn after turn of close combat. Nurgle to be tanky and sit on objectives.
I’m running chaos daemons as my first 40k army since i already had a bunch tzeentch daemons for AoS. I know Slaanesh daemons are good but they’re my least favorite of the 4 chaos daemon types aesthetically:/ trying to make a decent list that uses as as much tzeentch and as little slaanesh as possible. Any ideas?
Tzeentch daemons work just fine, but sadly like most Daemon lists at the moment the "competitive" form of the army includes as many Lords of Change as you can possibly fit. The power of the Greater Daemons is just too good to pass up. To fill out the rest of the army Screamers are okay, mostly due to their good movement, Flamers and the Exalted Flamer are solid enough but short range, and Horrors are just weird to me right now, I haven't played them since their rule change back when Brimstone Horrors were introduced. &tldr cram as many Lord of Change models into a list and it will perform just fine, even if it isn't quite as fast as a Slaaneshi force.
@@Whitewingdevil Thanks for the input. I'm not really trying to play competitively in tournaments or anything, but I don't want a complete push over list either. Something in the middle that leans slightly more competitive would be preferable. I'm also open to mixing Khorne and Nurgle too as i have some of those. I also dont mind using some slaanesh daemons, i just want to use not that many.
@@07derka Oh, my heart goes out to you. In that case I'd suggest running what you already have in smaller Patrol games to learn the differences between AoS daemons and 40k Daemons. The Lord of Change is a genuinely fun model to build/paint so well worth getting at least one. Heralds are a little better in Tzeentch armies than most due to their reliance on Psykers so they can be a great way to get an extra HQ slot filled on the cheap. I'd recommend building lists that balance toughness (i.e. having a unit with a lot of wounds to hold objectives) and speed (taking free objectives or using actions away from the main body of the enemy). As Tzeentch is quite capable at both, if still squishier than their Nurgley cousins.
@@Whitewingdevil Thanks. I'll have to learn general 40k meta-game stuff as well. And if Lord of Change in 40k is anything like they are in AoS, then i'll be happy lol

Minecraft, Pewdiepie, PooPooPEEPEE, Fortnight, Ninja (Gone Wrong). Sidebar does a slaanesh and emperors children soup work well with noise marines and keepers of secrets? I kinda wanna build a slaanesh themed army thats based around kiss, so use bloodletters as the heads of the noise marines and paint them with black and white make up...
Slaanesh and Emperors children work as a soup - personally I don't know how well but you can definitely make it work. As long as you keep slaanesh in it's own detachment you don't lose their daemonic loci so you would still get the advance and charge aura
Certain models, generally vehicles and monsters above a certain size, get weaker the more wounds they've lost. This is shown in brackets on their unit card. What specific stats get worse is individual to the unit, but it's often movement, weapon skill and attacks that go down. Also, if someone says that a unit brackets really hard, it means that it either doesnt need to take many wound before it drops a bracket down, or that the stats dip really harshly once they do start degrading.

on the seekers, how is "90pt for 5" an upside, when "18pt per model" is a downside
when those two are litraly the same thing
4 minutes ago, you guys are killing it!
Enjoying this Magic the Gathering content :3
Really new to 40k table top and been watching some of their videos from the tourney and was curious what bracketing is? Tried to look it up online but didn’t manage to figure it out .
I feel Iike the Enraptress should be C Tier imo. The ability to perils psykers paired with the daemonic possession Strat makes for a VERY dangerous combo and usually pays for herself! However the opponent needs to bring one so I get why she's in D (Slaanesh's favorite tier)
Yeah unfortunately because ppl don't bring a lot of psykers its kind of useless. I do like the model and hope it gets buffed a bit.
Does anyone else feel that Slaanesh demons are just too...vanilla for the modern internet? They're just simple BDSM, and that's it.
I still hopeing for the chaos deamons tier list
Can anyone explain what bracket means? I super enjoy the content, I just haven't played 40K seriously ever and only was ever REALLY into the painting aspect like 14 years ago. (I am old.)
It means they have a degrading wound profile, so their stats get worse as they drop into lower wound brackets
@@markschultz4236 thank you!
Of course Matt would be a Slaanesh player
Very useful. Thank you.
Why am I not suprised....
i'm not massively into 40k, but its seems slaanesh and nurgle souped would work best. Slaanesh to rush opposition and prevent shooting with turn after turn of close combat. Nurgle to be tanky and sit on objectives.
Thats why chaos undivided is also a thing, all 4 chaos gods kinda in a way cover each other weakness.
I think slaanesh daemons are as far away from asexual as you can be
I was wondering if you can play age of sigmar units like myrmidesh painbringers in a 40k slaanesh army. Does anyone know?
Can we get an ork tier list since no one else on UA-cam has done that in 9th.
Could you please edit the audio to be a little bit louder. Thanks!
Where someone should start collecting in order to have a competive slaneesh army?
Contorted Epitome / Syll'Eske and Daemonettes. Then go for Fiends and Keeper of Secrets. I'm about to start a Mono-Slaanesh army and boy, i just buy what's available here in Germany... sooo many sold out models
Does syll esske still receive their strength aura?
Shalaxi is the epitome of Bad touch, Bad touch!
Do Tzeentch daemons next please!
So I love warhammer but never played and have no clue what bracketing means
New player here, what does "it brackets" mean?
I think what it means is their stats change when they lose wounds. Eg keeper of secrets has 14” movement at full health, but 11” at half health
@@petercook3441Thank you
WE WANT ORKS!!!!
Matt talks about Bracketing alot in this video, what exactly does that mean?
The model has 3 stats that are tied to how many wounds it has left. When it drops below half wounds and 25% wounds respectively, its stats get worse. (If I remember off the top of the dome the exalted chariot loses Movement, WS and attacks.)
@@Whitewingdevil thanks mate
15:07, isn’t that what all slaanesh characters do in combat?
16 mins of hq's 10 mins for everything else. this sums up why i don't like demon's
@@DiceCheck Thanks for the help :)
Bought Zarakynel yet?
Play slaanesh with the forgeworld model as a battle report bet you won't
Why do people think the soulgrinder is bad my friend one shot a squad of 5 custodes bikes with his 2d6 blast cannon?
I assume bracketing separates your attacks into area of range
Honestly though wtf is bracketing I'm confused
Certain models, generally vehicles and monsters above a certain size, get weaker the more wounds they've lost. This is shown in brackets on their unit card. What specific stats get worse is individual to the unit, but it's often movement, weapon skill and attacks that go down.
Also, if someone says that a unit brackets really hard, it means that it either doesnt need to take many wound before it drops a bracket down, or that the stats dip really harshly once they do start degrading.
