Most UA-camrs glance over the fact that Amy is Nicky's (Sonic's) girlfriend in this manga. Or the fact that most of Nicky's transformation into Sonic are caused by a need to protect his girlfriend from the town bully Anton Veruca.
I’ve read a fan translation of most of Dash & Spin.
Shadow only appears in the last two issues and he’s pretty different from the main series.
I really liked him.
That’s cause this interpretation of Sonic is based-off of the superhero Shazam.
I know about this story but I never read that. The only comics of Sonic I've read were Dash and Spin (very fun) and Archie's comic Shadow's Fall and some other Archie Comics with Shadow in it (I mostly like his characterization in Archie). Another comic (Japanese) is Sonic Generation related, a light hearted story with Sonic and Classic Sonic challenging each other. The Japanese comics are all about 17 chapter.
I think what Sega should do is re released the manga for Western countries in the IDW comics as a weird celebration of this lost media manga that was only in Japan. But now, it can come over to the Western countries and fans can experience it for the first time. Seeing the What IFs they can go with Sonic. And I would love to see this, because I love this manga to death and its concepts. I always been a Spiderman fan since my childhood, and imagining Sonic being a super hero like Spiderman or Superman is interesting.
Sega or Sonic Team, Please do this! I'm begging you. 🙏
you should check out the audio drama "sth secret identity". it has a really interesting take on the "sonic is a super hero dynamic.". it's basically spiderman but sonic. lol

Well this whole manga was started in mid 1992 before Sonic was established. Amy also debuted at first here and Charmy as well. Sonic CD was in development at the time and Knuckles Chaotix was not a thing yet until 1995. The very first Sonic manga that was a promotion for the first 1991 video game is also very interesting. They included Sonic's scrapped band there.
Man, I love this Manga! Nicky has to be one of my favorite characters! Tails, Anton, etc.
However, Im still kind of not sure about Amy.
I like how she always supports Nicky and how she believes in him. However, when Sonic comes into the picture y'know how she acts. I still won't forget that planel with Amy thinking Nicky < Sonic

Speaking of the sonic manga's, I've heard of both (1st and 2nd) before! Actually, a youtuber I've watched called UltimateDSFan has a video of them showing their sonic collection,, in which they owned two volumes (possibly only ones) of the second Sonic Manga, which is the one that likely has Shadow!
The first Manga series on the other hand is indeed rare. Cool of you to talk more about it!
But yeah, some of those undiscovered chapters/Manga's could be lost media unfortunately.
