Affordable, obtainable and many items were Made (assembled) in the USA. The man is 80 years old, time for him to enjoy his family.

I don't have any of their products. I've got some Dosy Drake and even a radio shack watt/swr meter. Oh I can't forget about some Micronta stuff. Sad to see him go tho that's for sure.

I've got like 3 MFJ items .. We are going to miss them for sure! I'm hoping someone else will buy them and continue with manufacturing, sales and service. Probably just wishful thinking though.

Rooster it is like that in just about all fields of work just about no one wants to work anymore are should I say get a specialist trade I have been doing millwright work for about 25 yrs and we are having trouble finding qualified guys to work its a shame man the US is spiraling out of control and the young people have no pride maybe not all but most.

…also the internet destroyed ham radio. I have been into CB since 1972 and ham radio since 1978. I have done both most of my life. Ham radio is about dead. It’s wild. I got my ticket the first time in 1978, let it expire and got it again in 1985. The bands have been dead for the past 8-10 years. It sucks.

They have an 870 Grandmaster meter of mine they’re supposed to be fixing. They’ve had it a month already and no word from them. Maybe I’ll get it back

Rooster, I have a Cobra 29 NW WX ST, it works perfect in the house but when I put it in my truck, it instantly blows the fuse. Now here is where it gets tricky... It will only blow the fuse when the antenna is connected... I do have a Maverick 500 installed but have it bypassed for the time being. There is no short to ground on the antenna connector. Im pretty sure its something with the radio but not sure where to even begin to look... The radio has had the mosfet power upgraded transistor done to it... Any help please...

Neither CB or ham radio are not what they were, digital killed ham radio, I mean who has 20 grand to get the good gear? I was really into ham radio 10 or 15 years ago, it got to be impossible to find a friendly mentor to guide you, nowadays HF is more like CB from the 70”s with the language and the clicks out there, even the prices that are being charged for 10 and 11 meter radios are ridiculous

I can only speak for CB, but it's more popular now than in the last 25 years. We're experiencing a second CB boom. It's nothing like the 70s and 80s I'm sure but it's very well alive

Amateur radio ops are killing the hobby themselves. They have got to make it easier to get licenses. Hell, you can get a kid a boaters 10x easier.

I recently obtained the exact same meter. Does anyone have problems with the needle sticking on the right side of the meter. I found that tapping on the faceplate, the needle releases. Just curious.
