I had the same issue today with a Scrambler 1200 rental. Thanks to this video I could solve it. To my opinion this is heavely over-engineered. Keyless go, but you need the key for the tank and steering lock.
I really don't think it's the fault of the owner but of the supplier. Yould expect something as fundamental as that would be explained to you when you pick the bike up. The situation you found yourself in could end up being a "pocket problem" after all ... Especially if you have something else in the same pocket that could press against it..... I've lost count how many times I've "pocket rung" someone with my mobile phone. Glad it's solved Clueso😁
Cheers Rich...I do think that the Dealers should have made a point of telling me about the key function however being a typical bloke I didn't read the owners manual!
Had mine for 23 months now and never had a problem. No need to turn the battery off at all, and an update came out from Triumph sometime late 2019 or early 2020 not to turn it off. My key has been in my jacket pocket with numerous other items and never been 'bum' dialled. Great to see you have the bike going again, keep on having fun and smiling on these bikes.
Glad you have it sorted 👍 Luckily my Speedmaster has a good old fashioned ignition key!! I am always walking off with the dealerships keys in my pocket when I test ride other bikes 😂
I had transponder problem saying no key in range, oh and when the battery goes flat in the fob all sorts of things happens like side stand down and bike cuts out, good to carry a spare fob battery under seat.
@@2wheeledwillie395 wel I still have mine 1 year on 5000 more miles it's a 2019 and I still love it, warranty runs out next week, however I never made a warranty claim
The engine cuts off if you put the kickstand down while it's in gear. Has to be in neutral to put the stand down while the engine is running. Safety feature.
Glad it's all sorted mate....I've noticed somebody commented that you should have read the manual😂...we've been friends for 40+ years and I can safely say that I've never seen you read a manual or an instruction booklet in your life! Please don't start changing now! 😂😂😂😂
My dealer explained the key 🔑 and what the green and red light was when I bought it….how you finding the seat get a bit of a bit of a numb bum after about 50 miles might be due to my weight otherwise I’m loving the scrambler 1200 xc.
To be honest buddy I think this is the most comfortable seat I've experienced on any of the bikes I've owned...I've done 100 miles on it and felt fine ..do they do a comfort seat option for the Scrambler? Maybe it needs breaking in?
It's good that you can turn the fob off, as it prevents thieves from doing a scan to steal your bike. Still, should be explained when going through the collection process by Triumph!
Hey, A buddy offered to sell me his pristine 2020 Triumph Scramble xc for $7k. It has under 2k miles with many extras included. I checked around the US and the cheapest I can find is listed over $9k. I love the way it looks, but I’ve noticed on used Scramblers brushed aluminum parts don’t appear to be up to Triumph quality standards. I don’t understand why I’m not excited to make the deal. Would you own one again?
Hey buddy...its so funny you've contacted me as I've been looking at getting another one! Imo the fit and finish was definitely up to Triumph standards, absolutely loved the bike and regret selling it so much...hope this helps 👍
Wow I had no idea either thanks for sharing. Does anyone know why my dash keeps telling me it can’t find the key even though I keep it in the key lock? I imagine it’s a battery thing but my battery is new?
Or you could just read the hand book, just saying... lol You can still start the bike with the key turned off or when the key fob battery is totally flat, again all in the hand book, RTFM as they say...
Maybe….take my partner on the back she finds it comfortable better than the triumph rocket 3gt I had before this…don’t know whether they do a comfort seat.
@@2wheeledwillie395 Over the last 2yrs I’ve had a 2020 Harley fat bob a bmw 1250 gs and the rocket took delivery of the scrambler xc a month ago and it’s brought massive smiles too my face each time I ride it and my partner prefers to the others….every one that sees it likes it.
@@paullines4074 like you I've had my fair share of bikes over the past year and without a doubt the Scrambler brings the most smiles plus it looks so good 👍
"Hello Triumph customer service, IT dept here, Have you tried turning it off and on again?" 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I totally agree buddy 👍 very over-engineered...Glad you managed to solve it 👍
Thank you for the video. I was just having the same problem. Problem solved now I can ride.
That's good to hear buddy 👍 ride safe 🙏
That’s a relief ! The dealer didn’t inform me of the key on and off either, I found it in the manual
Yeah you'd have hoped it would have been mentioned! But then I guess it's my fault for not reading the manual!
Glad to see you sorted it out , all the best Will

LOL just wrote a whole paragraph on your other video. Anyway, your problem was a simple solution. Enjoy the Scram. Fantastic bike.

Lol! 😂 yes I can imagine that's easily done!

Hey Kevin..yes I ended up keeping the spate key under the seat! ...sold the bike soon after though as I'd lost my confidence in the bike

Ah yes, I see you had a problem with the nut there, the one that connects the handlebars to the seat. Happens to me all the time. 😂

The bikes fob is no different to any car fob I have owned, never had to turn a car fob off and on to use it.
