For me, our Neal Brown teams have been underperformers. Rarely do our backs make it through a game without being figured out by the opposing coaches or the backs shut down from lack of durability. QB Green is a star and Clement has shown a steadiness and toughness necessary to shine at WR. Other potential stars could emerge against Penn State. Our defense has not been substantial except in a few cases we have had some exceptional defensive linemen. Does our defense have the talent and tenacity to overcome the Penn State onslaught? WVU must show the world WHO we are. Don't look to the polls and get our feelings hurt, show it on the field. This is something we don't do so good. The fans don't carry the ball across the goal line, the team on the field shows you WHO we are. Last year we lost by 23 points at Penn State, Penn State has not changed much, have we gotten 23 points better? Can we punch a team like Penn State in the mouth and take the ball from them and the win ? It's gotta be done on the field. Will we do it ....... Just one fan asking other WVU fans their thoughts as well. We are never in the Top 25 (for the most part anymore) Are we suddenly going to beat #8? Penn State is 8-1/2 point favorites and Neal Brown usually does not outperform the point differentials, what will happen Saturday? Let's Go Mountaineers ......... Bonus Question: What's a Nittany?!
Good show. Realistic expectations. PSU fan but like WV after the game last year and became a fan. Tom Allen is a great D mind. Always gets his players to overachieve. D is loaded for PSU. Top 5. On O, Andy K will get the playmakers in space. WV is good and improved but PSU is so deep...everywhere. Now I finally understand why they pick Georgia/Ohio State #1/#2. It's because of the quality of players and the depth they have. 2 or 3 deep that could start...PSU is close to them with their recent recruiting and 67% starters returning. Tyler Warren vs WV linebackers is a matchup nightmare for WV. Fun fact - Allar lost about 15 lbs and will be running the option and can tuck and run. He is a actually a great athlete.
Good and fair show.. From a Penn St fan... I'm old enough to have lived watching this game every year from the mid 70's until the end in 92.. This game should be played every year along with Pitt bring the old trophy back..
