Ben is obviously highly intelligent, but what's probably more impressive is his willingness to simply say "I don't know" when he's faced with a question that he's unsure of the answer.
It's obviously better than the Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez approach which is basically saying nonsense and then when asked to elaborate just say "Oh, actually I'm not an expert!"
The left is terrified of common sense talk from people like Ben Shapiro. This is why they do everything they can to keep young people from hearing these messages. Radical leftists do not want young people to think for themselves and instead stoke hate and violence.
They try to but get blocked by the left wing indoctrinators that run/work at the universities and/or met by violent left wing student protests organized by their indoctrinators.
Wow as someone who was in a coma following a car accident I'm so glad the kid who saw no such reason for me to be kept alive wasnt in charge of my life while recovering. So grateful to have a family who cared about me enough to see the benefit of allowing doctors to help save my life.
Justin trudeau would be crucified by Ben. Justin is already a joke + he has a hard time articulating in press conferences (he shouldnt have such issues when hes the prime minister)
The fact that you thought any other way concerns me! I have been against abortion since I was in my early teens. The fact that you don't have the wit to figure things out for yourself means that you could probably be persuaded to take you original stance, doesn't it!
Glish the fact that you arnt pleased with someone changing their mind after being presented with the facts, Then there is something wrong with you. That’s the entire reason we have Q&As and debates. So people can be persuaded. Wow you sound so arrogant and egotistical.Smh.
Glish your argument has no basis and completely uneducated. I had a view based on what I knew and now that I've LEARNED and understood more about the choices, I changed my way of thinking. Logic overcomes opinions every time. Good luck to you though... You sounds like a swell person to be around. "What?! You spent $50k on an education you could of learned at the local library for $2.75 in late fees?!". Grow up kid! 😀👍

Oh I am sooo using that first chance I get lol. I’m a father and grandfather so I have poetic license to tell corny jokes as much as I feel like lol. My son always rolls his eyes when I tell a particularly extra corny one. Recently I’ve caught him telling my grandson some of the jokes i use to tell him when he was just a boy. There’s a question for everyone Is it “I used to” or “I use to”?
As of Jan. 15, 2019, Ben turned 35 and is eligible to become president of the U.S. But will he run? If he ever decides to to run, and if I'm still alive, he will have my vote. The first Jew ever to hold that office -- and to be a conservative -- would be AWESOME!
great list i'd like to add one thing; die for israel, ignore they're the largest counterfeiter of u.s. currency, ignore that they're deporting inconvenient ethnic migrants to the west, and most importantly realize that if you oppose the aforementioned you're an antisemite
No they'd hold him under terrorist laws like they've done to Brittany pettibone, her boyfriend (activist) & the other who wanted to interview Tommy R. Banned like Pamela gellar, Richard Spencer & dr. Bill Warner.
@@notthatshafiq8674 There was never a risk for him to be arrested,. These things do not happen by police arrest. They happen by "human right courts" that work by lawsuits and fines. I had the pleasure of flying from Los Angeles to Vancouver with Ben. He was so hospitable and friendly. I really appreciated his grace and demeanor. What a class act!
The majority of liberals in American universities have perfectly respectable conversations with him. The ones that *really* need to learn something are college kids in the UK
You are welcome in Canada anytime Ben! God bless you and thank you for being a voice of reason and common sense in an unreasonable and no common sense world.
Late, but did you hear Trudeau on the Paris attacks?! "We have free speech but we must be careful with what we say" is NOT an appropriate response to a teacher being beheaded for showing a cartoon of Muhammed.
it's just important to not use that as an excuse to use facts to primarily offend people Use facts to support your claim validly then once they bitch about their feelings pull that card
That exchange was fantastic. As a young French person, living in Canada, I find such views really positive, refreshing. They contrast starkly with the ubiquitous voice of big media pushing leftist and a victimization agendas. To hear these views from articulate and genuine people, most of them are young like me gives me hope! I'm not alone and these points are shared by reasonable people too!
I'm an Aussie, obviously here in Australia. Americans need to push for him to be your next president. I'm not religious. I'm not aligned to any political party. I'm not a homosexual. I'm not a transgender male. I'm definitely not a lefty nut job. I'm just a normal single childless employed white bloke who knows Ben Shapiro talks sense, truth and logic, something lacking in many people today.
Amen - fellow Queenslander. Hope he comes to Australia sometime as we need a straight talking brave conservative to jolt the voters out of their apathy.

@Claudie LeBeau if you work at Wal Mart and start telling people to shop at Target, they'll most likely get rid of you. It's sometimes unfortunate when people get fired for something they said, but again it is not protected by the constitution.
Gerry Lee Do you know how an Amendment is removed? First, no one can remove a god given right in the U.S., the president of the united states cant even remove a right. Because our rights were not given to us by the government. The only way to remove an Amendment, is by a 75% majority rule by BOTH political parties, the right and the left. And thats just to put it through the process. Many many times the demacrats tried to alter or remove the first and 2nd amendments, but they never could, because they never could get it passed that first stage of voting. Thats why you barely see the gun control debate on liberal media networks anymore, because they know its a loosing subject for them, it always was. Claudie LeBeau - In a court of law, yes free speech is protected. No one can take you to court for bad mouthing someone, and you cannot be arrested for it either. However, if you say "Im going to kill you", thats not speech, thats a threat and a call to action. But yes, free speech is protected in the US, even in a court of law. And if you have proof that your rights are being violated, that is very serious federal crime.
Donald J. Trump Mr. President. You're absolutely right. I have it on good authority he's still retired to his safe space, wearing his newest, gender-appropriate, lgbtq socks. Please keep up the excellent work to the south of my border. The states are lucky to finally have a President with balls, with all due respect, and a first lady who doesn't.
Ben's comment on Trudeau - "Being a handsome version of Bernie Sanders does not qualify you to be Prime Minister." That was the best line of of the whole night! Go Ben!
If Ben Shapiro says Bernie Sanders and Justin Trudeau are the same this dude has no idea what he’s talking about. I can’t believe he said that could you post the time stamp. If he really did say that wow
Nima Bernie Sanders is very progressive Justin Trudeau is not. Justin Trudeau should be compared to Obama more here’s why. He supports the pipeline, gives out corporate tax cuts and welfare, continues to arm Saudi Arabia, is for free trade deals, his carbon tax does not go after the biggest polluters and still has not done much for free college or universal pharmacare. Justin Trudeau is like I said a Obama. He is centre right and Bernie Sanders should be compared with Canada’s NDP party not the liberals. There’s a lot more but that’s just the stuff I remembered off the top of my head.
Matt Murdoch - the time stamp is 1:22:18 As to the other reply saying that Liberals can more be compared to Obama - Ben's comparison was to the man not the party. Having said that I do believe that as time passes the the difference between Liberals and NDP are less and less distinguishable.
Nima ok but none of that is policy. I could care less about what they say. When looking at these people it’s important to look at how they govern because that’s what their job is. I can almost guarantee that Trudeau says those things to get media attention and it works. Instead of covering actual policy they constantly cover how he said peoplekind or whatever other silly thing he does. That way Mr. Progressive is able to pass right wing policy and still look good to his base.
lmbc well he’s head of the party and if right wing policy’s keep passing under him he is not a “handsome Bernie Sanders” because Bernie Sanders would not do that.

Fantastic. As a former Vancouver resident, born and raised, UBC has a reputation among some as being a far-left indoctrination institution that does not welcome free thought. I tip my hat to all those who participated and, even if they disagreed with Ben, were willing to listen to and engage his opinions. Well done.
I'm a gay man in the UK and I can find nothing with which to disagree in Ben's analysis of sexual/gender orientation. There are indeed two genders, one has a willy and the other does not, it's quite simple. Whatever factors are involved with gender confusion, they cannot be treated by having the rest of society pander to the whims of immature, insecure morons. I have children and grandchildren and all I want for them is the best possible. Neither of my children have homosexual tendencies and my grandsons are too young to be concerned about such things. If one (or both) grew up with such tendencies or even some form of gender identity conflict, they would continue to get 100% of my love and support. As Ben says, stating the facts has nothing to do with trying to be mean to others, they are simply facts and this propensity to mollycoddle people into a false sense of identity or entitlement is dangerous, not only to them but to the rest of society. So far as Ben's stance on gay marriage or relationships is concerned, that's his prerogative and I don't plan to lose any sleep over such things - he is perfectly entitled to his view, just as I, and everyone else is - that's what freedom of speech is all about and on that subject I agree 100% with Ben.
@@kevinklassen4328 I see your point but I am happy being a man but just attracted to masculinity but at the end of the day, I quantify and identify myself as a parent and grandparent. I know that being gay was not a conscious choice and that no amount of denial would make it go away but the only real danger is external in that it is what others think and feel that have a serious impact - at least in the early days - so there is enormous pressure to conform. Now that people are minding their own business and not making out of hand assessments based on sexual preferences, the landscape for 'acceptance' is much clearer. My concern for transgenders is that many appear to be self-destructive, wanting to have pieces of their body removed, or additional parts added. There comes a point where this might be the only course of action for the individual and I wholeheartedly support them in that informed decision but again wonder how much of that decision is based on non-acceptance by society - are they being pushed into rash actions rather than being allowed the space and time to consider their options? There is an increasing trend to force vulnerable children into the confused state that leads to those with gender identity problems to consider taking their own lives and I cannot understand why a parent would wish that on their children. If, by their own processes, one of my grandsons (or both) came to determine that they were gay or perhaps felt trapped in the wrong body, I would be accepting of that but would not go out of my way to nurture it. My daughter wanted to be Scooby-Doo when she was little, then a ballerina, then a wide range of other things which caught her fancy along the way, the same was true of my son. They, being twins raised together, had ample opportunity to play with each others toys - as they often did, but they each gravitated to the things which interested them personally but I never once told them what they should or should not be interested in. May daughter has a friend from college who now identifies as a man. My best friend has a daughter who became, in her own time, to acknowledge that she is a lesbian. You see, I come from a mixed background where gender and orientation have come about as a natural process. I have no idea if my daughter's friend has undergone surgery and I would not ask but I call her 'Adam' as that is her chosen name. I would not ask whether she had undergone surgery and if, by any chance, she were to ask my advice on it I would caution her to be very certain before going ahead. As I say, I am concerned where children are expected to make life-altering decisions about their sexuality or their gender at a point in their life when they are unable to deal with such things. The fact is that there are only two biological sexes or genders or whatever other word is used - in binary terms you are either a one or a zero and while you may alter and adjust, through chemical intervention, the outward appearance of the one or zero, they will revert when such interventions are removed. We now have the prospect of 'gender fluid' which is the most inane concept imaginable. Something in a state of fluidity can be seen as constantly changing, this is simply not possible yet society is expected to honour that fluidity with an every growing range of pronouns which are nonsensical and, in many cases, offensive - I have no intention of calling anyone 'it'. If a person presents me with their chosen name - whether it fits their apparent gender or not, I will be more than happy to call a female 'Adam' or a male 'Eve' but I will not bend to the suggestion that the fluid river of their gender is such that you much fish for the appropriate pronoun and then be berated for getting it wrong. The case for nature over nurture is difficult to answer but your suggestion that my being gay is a product of my environment cannot be ignored although I can't identify anything in my life to suggest that I was influenced in any way. As I say, my concern is not that there are transgender people in society although I empathise with those who have been treated so poorly that they wish to end their lives and I wholeheartedly support their decision to take whatever steps make their lives worth living. I do not however, feel it is appropriate for parents to coach their children in such a way as to force them to explore something which may never have crossed their mind and then to rush immediately into surgical interventions before the child has had time to really get to grips with what is being suggested to them. I raised my children as a single parent so my influence was there all the time but I was not a 'gay' parent, I was simply a father, a role which I thoroughly enjoyed and miss now that my kids have grown. They are both heterosexual but also kind and loving to everyone, they accept people for who they are and by their actions - kind people are welcome, unkind people are not, it's that simple. Parents should teach acceptance of others so that children can go into society with an open mind, without preconceptions and without bigoted views and outlooks towards other people based on colour, ethnicity, race, creed, gender, age or sexual orientation. Perhaps in this way, we can build a society where everyone can feel comfortable in their own skin and not feel obligated to rush into making decisions by cruelty and bigotry.
@@DiogeneseAssociates I agree with most of your concerns. Don't want kids doing life-altering surgeries early, or being convinced if they are effeminate or a tomboy that they must be the opposite gender etc etc. That said there are legitimate people who are born appearing one sex but feeling they are the opposite sex, and that feeling is generally not 'fluid' in the same way that sexual preference is quite permanent. Lastly, there's only two genders male and female, but there are certainly people who may not have a strong identification with one or the other. It's narrow-minded thinking to assume that gender is black-and-white. Just the same way as there are many strongly gay or straight people but also many bisexual people. It's a spectrum. I don't agree with there being 30 pronouns though, it should be either you're a man, a woman, or you're not sure.
@@kevinklassen4328 Taken from a biological standpoint, gender is, in fact, black-and-white but that has nothing to do with how people feel and how they develop ways in which to deal with that. Part of the problem is that both concepts are being mixed together to push an agenda which is neither real nor acceptable because it leads to the notion that indoctrination is permissible, which it is not. As for the fluidity I mention, this is not the same as being uncertain from one day to the next, feeling anxious about how one feels and going through the whole spectrum of self-loathing, denial and arriving at a point where a path has to be taken. I cannot, and will not, prescribe to the silly notion that someone identifies as non-binary or gender-fluid, especially as the rest of society are expected to understand something which is incomprehensible. If some is 'non binary' then what are they, can they tell us or is it simply a way of getting attention? If an individual can arbitrarily 'identify' as something they clearly are not (such as an adult male who identifies as a 6-year-old girl but still drives a tractor) then the whole notion becomes idiotic and actually undermines the genuine situations where someone is struggling with an identify crises and all it entails. We are creating a society which abhors facts and seeks to cater to whim and fancy under penalty of some form of backlash. Such nonsense is actually undoing much of the hard work and achievements of the LGBT community (now apparently LGBTQ+) members of which have suffered appalling discrimination over the years to reach the point of public acceptance only to find the agenda now hijacked for something which has an agenda which appears to me to be other than acceptance. Can it really be that there is such a global epidemic of people claiming gender confusion - all at one and the same time? Or is it more likely that something else is behind the wave of nonsense? Many in the LGBT community are experiencing anxiety and stepping back into the shadows because the ground gained in simply being accepted by society has been overtaken by this epidemic, they are reliving the old fears because of the backlash caused by this situation. Alongside this, we have imported a very dangerous ideology into our society which believes that homosexuality should be illegal and, in the country of origin, men and women who are found to be gay are being thrown from the top of buildings to their death. The reality for gay men and women in western society is that they are once more living in fear - this cannot be right.
I sympathize for your situation of being lumped in with a crazy far left agenda. However, gender is by no means black-and-white. As someone who studied behavioral neurosciences for 4 years prior to medical school, I will have to tell you that you're dead wrong on that. If you're referring to sex, that is also not completely black and white. The actual development of gender identity is strongly biological and for 99% of people it aligns quite strongly with their external development (and chromosomal sex). Not everyone is as lucky, and for about 0.5 to 1% of the population there are various issues in fetal development that cause this to go haywire. That usually means identifying as the opposite gender, though to be honest when it comes to people who are gender confused, I haven't studied that in a lot of detail to know its validity, but certainly it has biologic plausibility that some people may end up not strongly identifying as either male or female. It's certainly biologically similar to bisexual people who have attraction to both sexes instead of ending up strongly heterosexual or homosexual. As to the more recent movements in the past 5-10 years, I do have concerns that a lot of people are getting falsely identified as transgendered or gender fluid etc. who are not, but there's no question that a lot of people are legitimately and biologically have brains that align with the opposite sex. If you're interested in learning more I can refer you to the scientific research on the topic.
@@kevinklassen4328 I can only bow to your superior knowledge having not studies the intricacies as you have. Perhaps then it is a matter of labels and of interpretation of those labels. When a fetus develops into one of two 'genders' what would be the most appropriate term for the result? I have been saying gender because that is what I have become used to saying - hence the binary male and female 'labels' - one has external and the other external genitalia; what would be the most appropriate label for this? We have the word, sex, which can refer to the act of intercourse or the gender of any creature. In all aspects, these terms do refer to a binary result in which specific chromosome pairs are in use. Again, what do you feel would the most appropriate term? It would be helpful if everyone agreed on such terminology and I think there is a clear delineation required between the physical and the psychological states because this is where the trouble begins. I wholeheartedly agree that there is often a difference between how an individual presents physically and mentally and a differential is the cause of the identity crisis we know exist. Personally, I believe there is a world of difference between someone who experiences this differential from birth and they certainly fit into the category of misalignment you mention and the middle-aged father of three who suddenly identifies as a six-year-old girl because he finds the pressures of life to great to handle. As part of the local over 50 LGBT support group, I regularly meet and offer support to gay men and women and this includes transgender individuals and what I can say with certainty is that such individuals are a far cry from those men we see on social media who wear age inappropriate clothing, makeup over a five-o-clock shadow and slingbacks who, when called 'sir' rather than 'madam' proceed to smash up a shop premises because they were 'misgendered'. This applies equally to the arrogant students who claim non-binary status while protesting but upon arrest for violent behaviour present themselves as their true self in order to gain leniency from the court for being a 'female'. As I already mentioned, I will happily call anyone by any name they chose, but I will not bend to the will of an agenda which seeks to persecute those who get the pronoun wrong. This does nothing whatsoever to further the cause for acceptance and tolerance by those in the transgender community who are genuinely battling with identity crisis. While I'm sure the research is fascinating, I am more than content to be having this dialogue with someone who is as willing to engage in an exchange of ideas, or indeed to reach agreement and, in my case, to absorb the result of metered study. If everyone could agree on specific and acceptable terminology to use, perhaps the entire debate could be more convivial and productive, while ultimately leading to greater acceptance and less intolerance of those with genuine identity issues and put to rest, once and for all, the hysterical hijacking that is taking place.

@@theodosios2615 Believe it or not, i actually think they're onto something with the observef 'microaggressions'. The problem here seems to be that microaggressions are equated to aggression. I've been watching Ben's talks for years. I have to say, as a Canadian, I am very proud of the questions he received from the audience in this Q&A! Very thoughtful and well-stated!
The REMEMBRANCE POPPY was ADOPTED BY BRITSH LEGION in 1921 inspired by the World War I poem "In Flanders Fields". Its opening lines refer to the many poppies that were the first flowers to grow in the churned-up earth of soldiers' graves in Flanders, a region of Belgium. ROYAL BRITSH LEGION was founded in 1921 as a voice for the ex-service community as a merger of three organisations: the Comrades of the Great War, the National Association of Discharged Sailors and Soldiers and the National Federation of Discharged and Demobilized Sailors and Soldiers, and incorporated the fundraising department of the Officers’ Association. Today, remembrance poppies are mostly used in the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand-countries which were formerly part of the British Empire - to commemorate their servicemen and women killed in all conflicts. @@deniseg-hill1730
I love Ben's talks. Hes very bright and mostly correct. I do love the slogan "facts dont care about your feelings." So many people need a reality check and I think their eyes are being opened in 2020. The sad state of the U.S., and the world, is in is the result of massive stupidity run amok over time. Perhaps we'll wake up and get it right. We are most definitely at a crossroads. The more difficult road, through the narrow gate, is probably the right choice. Thank you FSC and mr. Shapiro, from the U.S..
As an ex BC’er and friend of UBC, I congratulate UBC for allowing Ben Shapiro to speak freely. The students of the Left Coast showed amazing backbone. Your actions change minds!
I agree that life begins at conception. As an adult, my parents were having a discussion one day about the places they had lived. I relayed a memory describing an event that happened when I was little. They looked at each other and my father asked what else I remembered. I described the person, the circumstances, and described the town and the conversations along the way. What I described was Memphis, TN and a lady that did work for my parents. The event I perfectly described actually did occur, except my mother was about 5 months pregnant with me. I never lived in TN because my parents moved and I was born in Florida. So, I had memories of events that happened prior to my birth, which included riding in the car with my father while my mother was not present since she stayed home. It freaked my parents out a little, but they totally believed that I was present in their lives before I was born.
Cari Green I’m the same way. There’s a lot of songs even if I heard of it for the first time. It’s cos my mom was a pianist and choir teacher when she was pregnant with me. And there’s a huge research on child development and a support that things that we like and food that we love to eat is because of our mother’s likes.
Cari Green I’m fairly certain that memories are stored in a babies body rather than their brain, because the brain hasn’t developed fully yet. That’s why it’s so important to have a stress free gestation period and nurse properly and for at least 18 months, this process helps to properly develop the brain through the connection with the mother and the hormones released. It’s very interesting to hear that you have actual memories from before you were born, I don’t have any from before around 3 years old, at least that I know of. Would be good to study more people like you!
Miss OConner, I was playing hide and seek with my older sisters that day and remember thinking I was hiding really good. Lol I admit that school was an easy thing for me because if I had a hard time, I could literally visualize a page from my textbook and read it... In mid test. I lost that ability after a car accident though.
Turquoise Cheetah I was born in Russia, I don't remember much from my early years, but somehow I remember towo bright episodes all my life. My grannie used to take me to the countryside to her sisters, when I was 2 or little more . 1:25:08. THANK YOU!!! I am in the same exact position. I am a divorced mother of 4 (3 at home now, all boys). I totally believe that the father should be involved and my ex is but lives 6 hours away. I am not and refuse to ever be on welfare, or to allow the government to control me by taking anything from them free. I’m in the Army Reserves and I work full time for the US Army Corps of Engineers. I just liked that Ben knows there are single mothers out here who are sane, rational conservatives and surviving on our own.
92-did you marry your husband before you entered into in such a masculine job surrounded by straight white single males ? why did you divorce? or did he finally leave after finding things out about your "long workhour" activities? if this is the case, then he probably cannot face his sons (presuming they ARE all his ),after you've humiliated him in their lives like that. i feel sorry for dudes so disparate to marry butch men/girls . genders are so fucked up and GENDER QUOTAS in the police and armed forces ain't helping.
bademoxy I don’t know what your problem is but you know nothing about me and your little summary of my life is totally jacked up. I went into the military AFTER my divorce. As in 5 years after. There was no infidelity involved but I certainly don’t owe you any explanation about my life. Typical liberal jerk who has an opinion about everyone who doesn’t think like you....Thank God because you sound like a Muslim who lives to imprison women and would probably try to get sharia laws passed over here in the USA. There are plenty of jobs in the military that females are capable of. I am the furthest thing from a modern day feminist but you’re pathetic depiction of my life leads me to believe you have self esteem issues and can’t handle a strong dependent and conservative woman who knows the difference between men and women. I am the furthest thing from a butch or lesbian and you’re nothing but a bigoted POS. My ex and I have shared custody and we made an arrangement for our 2 older boys to go live with him as they entered their teenage years. He is nothing like you depicted either. My boys have a wonderful relationship with their father and myself. And He is more of a man than you could ever hope to be. Go put your wife beater shirt on and mind your own business.
bademoxy you’re an idiot 😂 this gave me a good laugh tho. Sorry you’re threatened by a woman who serves our country. Not everyone leave a marriage bc of divorce. People change and go in suddenly directions with their lives. Being in the military does not mean you cheat. She also said that she joined after they were divorced. Quite an imagination you have. Is that what you’re wife did to you? I’m sure she left bc you tried to force her into the kitchen and wouldn’t let her live her life. She needed a real man who wasn’t insecure. You seem to be projecting.
Congratulations to Free Speech Club and UBC for allowing free speech to happen on campus. For Israel. not the US. I am not an anti-Semite. He is just too religious and there is separation of church and state here. I am almost certain the first thing he would do as president is try to get rid of abortion.
@@tabbyreed8925 In 37 states the cut off for abortions is 22 weeks gestation or more. 26 of those states you can get an abortion at 25 weeks. Do you know what a baby looks like at 22 weeks? In a perfect world abortion would not be necessary. People would keep it in their pants, or if they didn't good people would be there to take the baby but neither of those things happen. Besides, most pro-life people are hypocrites. The very same people are pro- death penalty, against welfare, against education, healthcare or anything else that would give the kid a decent life. For the single moms out there- another option to find male role models: scope out the families who have children of “play date” age with your son. I lucked out- my son had 3 friends at early age who had strong families/strong father figures. They were so good that he would eventually avoid visiting in the homes of friends who had weak fathers. (Not absent- weak)- would decline overnights citing as young as age 8 reasons like “his dad doesn’t treat his family nice”-“he’s rude to them” or “his dad is very selfish- he spends money on New games for himself- but ...(insert overt need of wife or child being neglected”. Just little things that are actually big things he learned from strong fathers where he would spend the night. Good men are out there. 😃
I commend you for trying to seek out strong role models for your kids. As a victim of a fatherless home growing up, I can confirm that you really need that. Both boys and girls need access to that strength, discipline, and responsibility that fathers often establish in their kids. I know I would have loved having a male role model growing up, and I often attached myself to leaders in my church or teachers who I felt actually cared and could help me. I think it's a miracle that I managed to pick up those values and traits that I should have lacked growing up as I did, and for that I have books to thank. I managed to get these qualities by seeing the admirable qualities of my favorite characters in books, and that helped to stabilize me. I wish you good luck with your kids and encourage you to supplement the positive influence that those men have with positive examples of good protagonists for them to read.

As to the other reply saying that Liberals can more be compared to Obama - Ben's comparison was to the man not the party.

They are probably worse as those people sincerely believe they are trying to make the world a better place while these kids are just trying to piss people off.
Whether you agree with Ben or not, he really does provide a good example of constructive debate.
Love me some Ben Shapiro! 👍🏽

Why were you all subbed to this comment?
Canadians and Americans lost their lives fighting in the 2nd WW. So wearing a poppy is great. The Brits remember them.

YOU GO GIRL!
Thank you for your service!
Congratulations to Free Speech Club and UBC for allowing free speech to happen on campus. Its refreshing to see a leading Canadian university allowing conservative views to be heard by students who can then judge for themselves the merits or demerits of the views put forth. I hope more universities will follow this lead.
My god he would make a good president..
For Israel. not the US. I am not an anti-Semite. He is just too religious and there is separation of church and state here. I am almost certain the first thing he would do as president is try to get rid of abortion.
Tabby Reed I hope so

In 37 states the cut off for abortions is 22 weeks gestation or more. 26 of those states you can get an abortion at 25 weeks. Do you know what a baby looks like at 22 weeks? Its not a cluster of cells. That baby has its own unique DNA. How is it okay to have a choice to end that baby's life with out any reason at all? With tax payer funding?
Bill Clinton said abortion should be safe, rare, and legal. Today abortion is on demand tax payer funded and by the thousands without any medical need. 8 million abortions is genocide. And we've taught our children its okay.
Tabby Reed and what's wrong with that abortions are hellish
@@chasejordan22 Very few women have abortions as late as 22 weeks. Most have them the very week they find out they are pregnant.
Tax dollars are not used for abortions but even if they were, so what? Do you know how many awful things my tax dollars are used for? Endless wars, Trumps presidency (his secret service and whatnot), and potentially that stupid damn wall.
Until people are willing to both figuratively and literally willing to put their money where their mouths are abortion HAS to be a thing.
I liked this video from the intro alone!! I should start a free speech club at my university!
I have been watching Ben’s videos for 5 hours and those five hours have been the best.
Thank you for coming to Canada 🇨🇦 Ben! I am a Canadian fan living in Toronto area. I love you!
Ben: *It only took me 0.0001% of my power to destroy these liberals*
one has to be very mental to debate Ben :)
You fool, I’m not even at my final form
@@vplan when you say mental do you mean
1. Insane or
2. Mentally capable
The answer is kind Both as it depends on what side of the political spectrum you’re debating Ben from, I just wish to now what definition you meant if this comment gets popular?
What I mean by my previous comment is that to be a Conservative and debate Ben-you have to be mentally capable, to be a Leftist and debate Ben-you must be crazy
@@jeremyrossi2716 You have to be suicidal to debate Ben... Did it help? I’ve never seen anybody who think so fast to provide very smart examples, and different examples every time. Most people I follow, use the same examples and I get bored. I am never bored with Ben...
This guy will be president one day
Like hell he will. We are on the cusp of a civil war with Trump but if this guy ever won we would definitely have one.
Yea ok civil war. Keep drinking the CNN kool-aid, and ingesting the MSLSD
@@jetjeti5682 You don't think it possible. Think about how different dems and republicans are now. We have no common ground, we hate each other on an almost visceral level, and a lot of people are scared. I think it's not only possible but likely.
I would never take arms against my fellow American citizens, and I’m a Republican I’m bleeding blue nyc. All our differences in politics should never resort to violence. No excuses

COnfiscate the baby moma bastards and put them in orphanages. Mandatory hysterectomy for proven baby mamas. Sterilization for the serial inseminators.
Yahul Wagoni my children are not bastards. (You are just a dick) 🤣

I wish you good luck with your kids and encourage you to supplement the positive influence that those men have with positive examples of good protagonists for them to read.
first rule for all potential "single mom's" be more careful about who you marry.{ i know there are exceptions}
As a Canadian im proud of the questions asked by these students. Reasonable questions without attacking the guest speaker.
Love that Ben is wearing the poppy. Right on. Respect. Too bad that so many Canadians in the audience chose not to follow his example.
