You should do a line of damas called the "proback" (like a throwback) where the pros pick out their favorite from the first designs or ones from the past and you make a signature line for each that they personally choose. Supports the team, but also supports the history that made you guys stand out from the rest.
This was sick. My wife and I had been interested in kendama's from watching Adam 22 play with them ( shout out No Jumper) and we were in Target the other day and actually snagged the last 2 Sweets Kendama's off of the shelf. That led me to your UA-cam channel and now a week later im absolutely hooked ( or spiked, if you will...) on the kendama. It's crazy to think about how Sweets started out and after all the hard work and trial and errors your journey landed a couple of Kendama's on a shelf in a major big box stores like Target and along I come, minding my own business, and suddenly I am totally immersed in this whole new world I had no idea existed until now. Thanks for spreading such an awesome lifestyle/message through the kendama. I will be over here just leveling up guys... Keep up the good work!!
@@SweetsKendamas thank you very much! You guys make it so easy and fun to get into. I'm already looking at my next kendama purchase online...a sweets pro model if course...
Man this video was a real walk down memory lane. I remember when I started playing back in 2011/12 I'd buy kendamas from KenUSA, picked up Ozoras, SunRise, and TK-16 damas. I think the Ozoras/TK-16 were always suuuuper slippery, and the TK-16's were really heavy and clacky. SunRise I liked too but they were a lot softer and the paint chipped pretty bad. Then my buddies and I discovered Sweets. We were from MN so buying kendamas from our home state was really excited. I remember getting this matte sky blue tama, but the ken itself was pretty frail and i chipped out the cups pretty quick. I was a little turned off by that at first but then when the marbles came out my friends and I were more and more impressed with the quality of your kendamas and since about 2014 all my favorite kens have been from Sweets. I took a break for a few years, and just 2 weeks ago I bought the Boogie T model from you guys and OH MY GOD. How far Sweets Kendamas has come! Such an amazing kendama. The discussion on sticky/tackiness really hits home here. "Sticky" tamas have changed so much from the sticky icky days. This Boogie T model has such a great tacky feel, but lighthouses and lunars can still slide the perfect amount. The whole design of kendamas now blows my mind. From the bigger edges around the base cup, to the hole drilled into the base, the more slender grip, the wider tama hole/bevel... it's amazing. I've followed your company from the start and it was a huge part of my life for years. It's so exciting to come back to kendama and being able to play these new models with superb engineering. Thank you for making this video, it was a great walk down memory lane. Cheers Matt, thank you for starting Sweets Kendamas!
I bought a sweets kendama at target today after getting the slipperiest kendama ever of target. Just spiked a light house and I couldn’t be more stoked
Been playing since 2014 and I know what you mean by the evolution of sticky… The Kendama scene has slowed down even I stopped playing for 5ish years and I’m coming back to it… I still have my old Kendama collection with some chameleons and homegrowns but decided to let those chill and preserve. So I bought some fresh kens and my mind was completely blown away by how far sweets has come. With quality and the complete evolution of the shape. I miss the Kendama scene and hope it will resurface once more. Excited to continue my Kendama journey with sweets 💚
Oh man! I forgot all about that Egg dama! The egg is in the picture with all the marbles. I remember playing with my green and gold pineapple dama in that yard of the first sweets paint shop.
I think about my old school rasta fade with the red skyline sticker everyday and I get so sad that i lost it on the school bus in 2015, wish I still had that little og banger. would have been such a great piece of sweets history
I love this video and your admissions of all the mistakes you made! It really is part of the growth and its awesome how you made things move and work through the years!!
Awesome seeing this sweets. I remember seeing your first damas going up for sale and the announcing of marble. I’ve got a few of the og. I’ve definitely got a white ken sea foam marble somewhere and a few of the old focus ones too. Dama history 🔥
This is so crazy! I remember some of these designs being a thing. Love you guys! Btw, I think marble should make a comeback, maybe for a Customs line :))
Thanks for sharing your history with us Matt! Is trully amazing the evolution Sweets got and the love you all put into it from the beginning till now. You are the best company of all times, constantly spreading love to kendama community, bravo! Also love the coffe mug😂❤️
This was really fun and interesting to watch. I love the entrepreneurial spirit and passion shown by you guys. Love the creativity and the “make it work” attitude. Also… your honesty regading the mistakes that you made along the way made this video totally genuine. I’m hoping for v 2.0 to come along… more please and thank-you. Ⓜ️ary
Great video Matt! I love kendama. I have 4 in the mail right now just sitting at random USPS hubs around the USA, and they haven't moved for days. I'm really mad at USPS. Right now I'm bangin' the Jordan Bulls, the boost radar, and the Coop mod!
Already loving the thumbnail. The Marbles are some of my favorite Sweets damas and are what I think of when Sweets Kendamas pops up. Such a unique design that was continued to be used in future lines of damas and collabs.
AMAZING story. I’m a semi-new kendama beginner. Any idea what I should start with? I’ve been looking at the Boost Radar. Any other good ones? I already own two Primes. Thanks
BOOST Radars will definitely give you the full experience of our new standard shape. If you liked the Prime Shape, we're pretty sure you will love the BOOST 💚
I remember when the first sticky paints came out them things where stiiiiiiicky, you could slap the tama on the cup and hold it upside down without it falling off lol

That would be so sick
They need to see this
Facts throw the old designs on some beech boosts
Nice
Bro! That is a great idea! I think that would be really cool for the nostalgia and the memories. Sweets! Take this idea into consideration! 👍

Yooooo I had that first yellow with the blue stripe, I think I have the tama somewhere in my closet. I need that colorway again for a throwback.

I remember when the stained and matte marble dropped when I was in middle school. Back when we thought the best out there was Sweets and KendamaUSA
You guys need to bring the marble back!!!!! That was one of my first kendamas

foward 1 turn inward lunar tutorial plz
Is it possible to do a hydro dip on the Damas?
Just curious.
I bought a Kendama at the Minnesota state fair and I dropped it in cow poop at the cow section and the animal section at the Minnesota state fair
Wow that cow mug did a lunar
Sweet. Sticky. Love. Cosmic. Crush!!
I’ve wanted marbles to come back for a while now. It’d be super sick if they did.
1:48 huh?
At least I’m not the only one who saw that
Hi, where can i get a sticky clear coat for kendamas??
marble Boost, would be the best dama ever
i have an og one from the start
this is gonna be sick
If I wanted to paint my own tama what kind of paint do you recommend
Btw whe i was a starter i had a kendama with no bevel just a straigh hole
Somebody gotta make a kendama drop count
Wow
The government bought all of the paint 😂
So the government bought the rights to the original Chameleon paint, but what about the chameleon flakes used on the F3 marbles and Pickle-O tamas?
DO LLAMA DAMAS!!!
Shit making me tear up a bit
Lol my fiance has two of those cow mugs
I have an OG chameleon but it is so worn down from play it is probably worth nothing
💕💕💕💕
Woe
I sadly have COVID again
First after first
Yeah and the Tamas were so out of shape lol like eggs
"It's pretty ratchet" hahahahahahahaha
Handroll
