Wow. So this is 11 years old. I just saw it now. What a great band. Just playing on the sidewalk in front of a restaurant. Very talented. I hope you guys make decent money playing music. Hope something came of this band. You certainly invested a lot of time and effort learning those harmonies and executing them flawlessly. Solid rhythm section as well. Thanks.
Just to say this band is unreal. Imagining rolling into a neighborhood watering hole only to hear this!! Just incredible, truly. Your teenage years served on a plate.
Amen to that Craig! This cover of this song is phenomenal! AND, I gotta give a huge shout out to whoever is the BANDLEADER here. It takes work to make a group this tight! Just amazing! Thank you!!
I always loved this song !! This group cannot be praised enough for doing such a great job on this and all their other songs ! As a drummer for decades in local cover bands I know how hard it is to make songs sound good in live settings. The musicians and singers are stellar and the attention to detail is phenomenal. Let's not forget that we're hearing a performance outside on the edge of some sidewalk cafe and a parking lot !
For some of their covers that certainly applies, according to my taste. I just found their version of Jackson Brownes "Doctor my eyes". All credits to Jackson for creating such a fine song long ago, but the best rendition of it is that of Foxes and Fossils.
My first foxes and fossils video. I thought to myself these guys look kind of interesting. Let’s watch another video. Geez, I must’ve spent three or four hours just watching all of their videos and this happened during the beginning of Covid.
Gotta say. I am a 50+ year fan of Todd Rundgren. I've heard dozens of covers and live versions of the song and listened to the original a 1000+ times. It's a tough song to perform vocally. Evevn Todd can't hit the high notes in this song anymore. You did a great job. The background vocals were a great compliment and perfect pitch. Again a song that requires a perfect pitch all around. The people at that outdoor bar & grill had no idea how great a song that is and how well you performed it.
Mortimer, I've seen Todd many times (Utopia once) and they truly capture the energy and tight harmonies on all his songs. It was sad to see Todd working hard on those once effortless notes during the A Wizard A True Star tour last year, but Todd's a perfectionist and would love seeing someone giving his songs that same care, attention, and killer harmonies.
Dang, they are AWESOME! THEY ARE SO GREAT & ITS PATHETIC THEY ARENT PLSYING IN A BIGGER VENUE! THEY SHOULD BE MAKING BANK! I HOPE YOU ALL KNOW HOW MUCH YOUR APPRECIATED! THANK YOU! ♥️😇♥️
Bad mix the old songs that are good. But if you dig hard enough I guess 51 years in the business you still haven't had a hit? So why not do other people songs cuz you can't seem to write anymore. John Prater
You know, I've probably watched a half dozen of these performances now and the consistently pitch-perfect vocals, super tight harmonies and superior musicianship here is quite remarkable. If I were walking past this taco place and heard a band of this caliber playing, I just wouldn't believe it was for real. And somebody (I'm guessing you, Tim) is a master soundman. The band is so well miked and balanced it might as well be coming from a studio, and yet it's just a gig set-up on the patio. And no body sounds this good and this tight without hours and hours and hours of rehearsal together. Lots of talent, hard work and focused pursuit of excellence here. Very well done.
It’s just incredible, Dave . I agree completely... I’ve played music all of my life and it is very very rare to see and hear this kind of talent in a live setting , making this beautiful sound together ... it is truly amazing 👌 I’ll have to agree with you , Tim had this group polished and ready to go ! Fine tuned machine 👌
1 year later...this performance has so much life, yet is so disciplined. wonderful. so in the spirit of the tune. If Todd ever did this song so well live I'd be surprised and delighted. I listen to this sometimes three in a row, five times a week. so grateful these folks take their job to heart. they get it. thanks so much, F&F. -Jim
I hope everyone will also recognize Tim's multiple and extraordinary talents. It should be easy to recognize his singing here -- he totally crushes this song.
Others have said it, but can you imagine sitting in that restaurant and this band starts playing? It would be like expecting Elvis on velvet at a garage sale and finding a Picasso. This band not only has great singers, but their musicianship is outstanding. There doesn’t appear to be any type of music they can’t play. Effortless mastery.
I just purchased their live CD. I have listened to this over and over and over. It still blows me away, Todd Rundgren, who was just inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame, couldn't match Sammi's and Maggies's harmonies on this cover. The whole band is great, Tim's singing is spot on, but without the Foxes harmonies, it doesn't quite reach the sky. With them, oh yes it does.
As a former gigging musician (and choral singer who performed many times in the Kennedy Center and Constitution Hall), I was pleasantly surprised, nay agog at the outstanding performance of this group on this song. I can't imagine coming across a better cover of this tune live by *any* other group on this planet. Playing outside is not the easiest due to acoustics, and on top of that they were backed up against a parking lot. Being a fan of Todd's many years ago, I remember every little detail of this song. Kudos to Foxes and Fossils!
Totally agree.....this is live, and sounds like a studio production. Tim's got a voice. He nailed this song as well as Todd Rundgren's studio version. Very impressive. He should teach bands how to run sound for live performances.

A recent obsession over all things Todd Rundgren, after seeing a video of him performing with Daryl Hall and his band at Todd's house in Hawaii, must have steered this video into my UA-cam feed. I was prepared to hate this cover, because the song's arrangement and harmonies are so difficult to replicate, but Foxes and Fossils nailed it! I found myself wishing I'd stopped into that cafe for a light lunch on the patio that day -- I would have been blown away to hear this version of "We Gotta Get You A Woman." As a huge Todd fan, this is just wonderful. There aren't many good covers of his songs (Robert Palmer is one I can think of) but this is beyond good. Bravo F&F!
Incredible two albums - Runt and Ballad of TR. They remain favorites to this day. You know what, Tim? Todd needs to spend a week in Smyrna with Foxes and Fossils and produce a couple songs for ya'll. Todd, you reading this? The deal is, Tim, you have to let TR produce, then mix the results. Do it old school, Something/Anything side 4 live band style. A bunch of live tracks, plus one or two "studio" tracks. I just want you and the band to work with him. I'm sure everyone would love the experience. I know he sees and hears exactly what all of you have to offer music-wise.
No matter what song, old or new, the singers are always spot-on pitch, and the musicians have so much talent. The whole group is in a league of its own! The number of views proves it!
I cannot possibly overstate how happy it makes me to see women young enough to be my daughter knowing this song and thus Todd Rundgren as well. And I agree with other posters, the sound quality is absurdly good. I tilted my head quizically.
Digitally recorded off of the sound board, and mixed at Tim's (lead vox) home studio. He also sync'd the video there, but it's a live recording. Please trust me, I was there! Scott (bass) Fossil
I love the way the girls are singing the words to themselves along with Tim when it isn't their turn to sing. Their love and joy for the music is very evident.
I have watched several videos of this band and I am speechless. What a great band. I wish my wife and I could sit in a venue like this one and listen the night away with this talented band.
One of the best covers of this song I have ever heard. I'm channeling Todd right now. Lucky folks to be at the strip mall that got to experience this beauty. Awesome job F&F!
Out of many Todd Rundgren classics, this is my favorite. Great rendition!

Damn I love this. So long ago.. TODD RUNDGRIN
Best rendition of this song that I've ever heard.
This group is very good
So well done! These folks are tight..vocally, instrumentally...great cover!!
They do this song and others so well. And most of the time they are recording live! No retakes. Wonderful group.
Video of their December live shows coming soon. More than 10 years after this was recorded.
No matter what song, old or new, the singers are always spot-on pitch, and the musicians have so much talent. The whole group is in a league of its own! The number of views proves it!
Sweet cover of Todd's classic song!!💗
My new favorite band, period!
I keep coming back to this. We’re wastin’ time talkin’!
I am seriously in love with this group and this cover, in particular.
I really, really like this band.. they do awesome covers some of the best I’ve seen

@@scottking9061 You really know when to add bass to a concert of comments...
I love their take on this song, it's so good
I love the way the girls are singing the words to themselves along with Tim when it isn't their turn to sing. Their love and joy for the music is very evident.
I have watched several videos of this band and I am speechless. What a great band. I wish my wife and I could sit in a venue like this one and listen the night away with this talented band.
You can, but indoors! Two live shows planned, Dec 29 & 30 2022, in Hapeville Georgia, near the Atlanta airport. Stay tuned for specifics.
@@StuartMStrickland thank you for the heads-ups
One of the best covers of this song I have ever heard. I'm channeling Todd right now. Lucky folks to be at the strip mall that got to experience this beauty. Awesome job F&F!
