Tindale Fell Waggonway. Brampton Cumbria. Short Field Study

- The Tindale Fell Waggonway dates from 1799 and ran from Bramton to Lord Carliles's collieries on Tindale Fell particularly TarnHouse colliery. Parts of the original waggonway became a main line railway in 1828 serving the collieries at Midgeholme.
This is just a short study of part of the waggonway as far as the Hazard Pit where there had been an underground wooden waggonway since at least the mid 1780's . Research is still ongoing and it is our intention to do an updated study in the future
My family came from Hallbankgate and Midgeholme my great grandfather and the rest of the family mined in the area .Also worked at I think HOWARD PIT and at the time had an incident where as a young lad had a misadventure by hanging who was related to me all this is recorded . great pod cast loved it

Great info Ronny pits all over the place up there
Roachburn Farm- feels like something from the Middle Ages- fortified and feels safe to be in. Greenside- always loved seeing their herd of pure Herefords. Your works deserves far wider exposure Ckive.
