Only bug people will go "I have a traumatic core memory of this creature...I'M SO EXCITED TO HAVE ONE AS A PET!"
Commenting again because I came back to rewatch... Your excitement is infectious! Never been so excited for dobsonflies so much but I felt your energy and was hyped for you for it!
And wow! That toe biter looks so cool, they're scary sumbitches (I say affectionately!) to see in person and I always show videos of them to friends visiting my area to say, "when we go swimming, look out for this guy, he's cool, but ouch!" I've never been brave enough to safely grab one myself - if I see one in my current stage of life I would, but all the times in the past, seeing them in the wild I was a kid and would just scream and panic, and all the braver adults around me would do the picking up and saying "look at its pincers! Those are legs!"
Each raising the next generation!
Water Striders are apparently easy to breed in captivity, but get cannibalistic quick if they aren't always eating!
I just got two of the hellburnt diabolical ironclad beetles from Peter a week or so ago, too! I've never had them before either and have enjoyed watching them in my desert tank. I hope you enjoy yours, Rus!
I wasn't aware there were local varieties of the ironclads, as all the ones I've seen where I live are an off-black coloration. Very cool to see the variety in this video!
You are such an amazing human. I wish I could ship my youngest to your camp!😊
It would have been fun to host your youngest human at the camp !
Oh yay an ironclad beetle! I love those guys
i love a good unboxing, and the introducing into their enclosures!
I’ve got three hellburnt diabolical ironclads from bugs in cyberspace! A big male, a big female that’s just slightly smaller, and a tiny little male who’s just a fourth of the size of the other male. I was definitely not expecting the small one to be male, it was quite the surprise! Mine seem very content to hide in their leaves for most of the day, but sometimes they’ll climb up on top of their grape wood or their worm shell and just sniff around. They’re super cute :)
aww cripes! Ive still got my own unboxing video from him to release! 😂
Unboxing videos are not what I expected when I subscribed, but this is definitely the kind of unboxing video I can get behind! Such fabulous critters. I hope for the best for that cricket, I've always wanted to see a Jerusalem cricket in person so I would be heartbroken if I unboxed one and there was a chance it didn't make it 😭 keeping my pedipalps crossed for you 🤞
My only hellburnt diabolical ironclad beetle died recently, but it was one of my favorite pet bugs I've kept so far! I called it Gargoyle because it had a tendency to climb up to the edges of different hides and decor that were in the tank and sit very still. I really would like to try breeding them in the future.
That hellgrammite is so cool, I would love to see more about it as it grows!
I have found two ironclad Beatles in My yard. Couldn't figure out what to get him to eat.
I find the solid black ironclads in my yard from time to time
I find the centipedes in my yard also they're creepy
That's some haul! I'm probably going to be doing some talks for kids again this summer, so I'll be hunting in the garden for mini-beasts.
Great video
Excellent Unboxing Rus!
Yo! They raised the shipping price to $55 for New York. I remembered it use to be $28 shipping🤑
Shipping has become more expensive for just about everything these days, unfortunately!
My 3 inch Vinegaroon went underground I assume to molt the beginning of January.
I’ve kept the back area most.
Getting concerned about the time frame ?? It sounds bad to me !! Suggestion please. I think I should dig her up 😳
I have had them wait until June to emerge before. They seem to be on their own timetable!
Very Late Video
It was supposed to be 6:30 am this morning 😂
