This was a very interesting and educational video Vernon and Marie thanks. Eli seemed to be enjoying himself and this is definitely a real learning experience for you all. Looking forward to next video cheers
I've spent a fair bit of time on land on some remote island up in sulawesi where i was fed turtle for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as for dog ive seen it sold in shops with labels on it in west papua "anjing bakar"
I must apologise for not tuning in for a while,I’ve been following the politics and financials closely.Maria is looking more relaxed these days and young Captain is growing so fast and looking uber healthy.Cheers for your video Vernon.
Not judging, but the dogs, bats and rats didnt look very appetizing. Looked like a who;e string of volcanoes. Nice to see you exploring together. Stay safe !
Vernon, Appreciate your content warning.. Terrific video, enjoy all your videos and the content, thank you... agree with what you said about 'meat we eat, and some only know what is found in supermarkets'. For me, having been raised by a hunter-gatherer father/ and he was a prof scuba diver - we ate everything dad brought home for our mum to cook.. 'he taught me, to be thankful and only take What You Need!'.. I do remember (vision of) seeing the 'sheep' slaughtered (for a hungi) at a young age (6 or 7yo) and that did shock me some-what.. (🤒🤕).. with some experiences later & realising that it was important for my dad to show me that, as I'm also an ocean enthusiast/ foodie/ all creatures great and small. And a soon to be skipper, I've always had an interest in 'self-sufficiency' from growing/ harvesting/ catch & cook my own food. The only live animal I have ever killed was a young rooster/ male chicken. in hindsight I knew how 'my early childhood experience had helped me realise', sometimes we need to know it's ok to do this if we want to eat.. how important is it then to "Be Grateful, and Thank the food for giving its life to feed me (us) and to do it Humanely' so the animal/ creature does not suffer!' I'll add this destination to my sailing journey for the near future...

We ate dog in Sorong once, only found out about it later.
@SailingLearningByDoing if you spend a bit of time in the 3rd world it's more than likely you've eaten dog a few more times cat also.
@ yep for sure. Also eaten horse, frogs, snails, donkey etc in Europe. Different cultures, different ideas.
