I feel like Ross deserves more credit for actually managing to get his hands on this godlike soundtrack.
I did thank him in the description, though it was below the Read More, so I moved it to the first paragraph. I am truly thankful for him helping us be able to hear this.
Rayndrops
I'm not saying that this video should give him more credit. (although that is a good thing that it does.) What I'm saying is that Ross deserves more recognition for sharing this masterpiece with a more general audience.
Charles (Chuck) Barth composes and performed the music. Thank you for posting it. I was the director of the live action (green screen) video portions. Fantastic game to work on, I spent 20 years in games, and this project remains my favorite.
This OST is not getting enough attention as it should, but it makes me feel like I've stumbled upon a secret treasure :)
Hey, feel free to share the wealth around, my friend.
A secret treasure that wasn't hidden at all, because Ross dug it up and put it in the middle of the street for everyone to witness, but a treasure nonetheless!
Octo theme is absolutelly surreal
oh my godddd
Ross’s Game Dungeon made me want to listen to this OST and he was right it’s a great soundtrack
I was 10 when this game came out in '96 and watched my dad play it through. Like every good soundtrack, it absolutely makes the game. Rama wouldn't be Rama without this atmospheric, ethereal, and sometimes frightening music. Totally masterful. Also, new age ftw--Does anyone besides me and my dad even know about this genre anymore? It's due for a reboot!
Same!!!
I legit cannot understate how happy I am I watched Ross's video on this and stumbled across the OST. I listen to this all the time to study now. I never was able to play the game as a child because I was too poor to afford a gaming PC, so most adventure PC games I played we those my friends actually owned like Myst. I do intend to go back and play this one just to experience this from the perspective of the game itself.
Just heard about this via Ross's Game Dungeon. :)
An experience of a lifetime. Read the novel almost 50 years ago, played the game almost 40 years ago, and now the soundtrack. I've returned time after time to read and play. Someday maybe they will complete the movie they planned years ago, but never seem to begin. Someone did use the idea at the end of Interstellar!
But… the game isn’t even 30 years old yet…
Ha! I tend to include a little troll bait in my comments just to see if I get any bites. Good catch!
Thank you for uploading this gem !
I loved the atmosphere of the game but I was way too young to get through some of the puzzles
Thanks, Ross!
God bless you and Ross.
This soundtrack inspires me in so many ways. My curiosity is peaked, and so is that terrible frustration that only comes with being terrible at the game itself. Stupid timed math puzzles.
This soundtrack is great for D&D sessions btw
I used to love playing this game until it wouldn't run on the newer operating systems. The soundtrack is my favorite of any game I've ever played.
james dreck the best way to play this game is to use dosbox as the windows version is slightly dodgy.
@@term-827 Actually the MacOS 9 version is great too, if you have a spare iMac G3 or something lying around. I finished it on that machine a few years back!
Well, lucky for you the game is able to easily run in ScummVM which was initially designed to run old LucasArts adventure games. But it now supports a ton of different adventure games. All you got to do is just copy on the files off the CD into a folder and then tell ScummVM where the folder is on your computer
This is my first game I play in my first PC computer. Fantastic
Truly great memories playing this awesome game
With awesome soundtrack
So many sleepless night spent on this
Still have the game guide in great condition.hard to find even then.needed it to finish playing.why is it not available like on GOG?
A TV series could have great potential!
I'm so glad I found this awesome sound track it brings back so many memories of playing this game back in the day!Thank you for posting it.
Thanks for this. My persona; favorite is the Avian theme. I even ripped it off the original game and put it on a mix tape! Lovely.
this is like an extended old school windows startup sound
I love it
Thank you Ross for showing us this awesome game and soundtrack!
"Human" sounds very, very MGS2. Maybe MGS2's composer heard this?
