- When a former racer and his clever son concept-build a new Supra, the result is a JDM legend in the making that could be straight out of GTA 5: a brilliantly transformed 2020 Toyota Supra GR MkV A90 with its HKS turbo-charged 550-horsepower BMW B58 engine, one-off Lamborghini-style vertical doors, intelligent Air Lift Performance air ride suspension, full titanium exhaust, custom-designed three-piece DP Wheels, and a uniquely modded HKS wide-body kit. Nicole Johnson visits Rad Rides in Huntington Beach and drives the one-of-one meticulous creation built and owned by father and son team Stephen and Stevie Aguayo.

I think the level of gorgeous insanity in this build actually does the new Supra a favor, overall. Its so nutty, yet so well-executed, it almost becomes perfect. And Im not a Supra fanboy by any means. But, well done.

Typically I’m not a fast and furious kind of guy. I do love my Porsches, a well set up Boxer Can’t be beat. But to see a father and son team and a supra like this, it’s just outstanding. This father and son build is one of the best A90 Supras that I have seen and there's a lot of A90 Supras builds out there and all the HKS parts that they got from I don't know where I mean these parts are from the 90s the body kit the wheels the back spoiler looks amazing as all the parts they put on the A90 and that's his son first build I can only imagine what his next build will look like I got to give this father and son build a big tums and Nicole Johnson Detour a bigger tums UP for showing us the build thank you Nicole.

I'm not into "new" cars but hats off for Steve and Stevie, this ride is just sick! Love it! Looks awesome, pops like crazy and seems to be as grounded as a go-kart, but probably way softer since it has pneumatic suspension. The roll cage is a must, not only for protection but also stability (less body torsion so to speak.)
By the way, just for mentioning "Initial D" you already got me by the heart. Cheers!

Huge props to Pop! This young man’s generation is vastly un-parented and the relationship of father/son was a blessing to watch here. I can only imagine the opportunities for disagreements inside this journey that were thwarted by encouraging conversations and thoughtful words. This young man’s vision was brought to life and THAT is cool. @@NicoleJohnsonsDetour As a 50+ year BMW owner & driver, I was very skeptical when I heard about this collaboration with the BMW Z4 Coupe. The first ones I saw didn't really change that opinion. Steve & Stevie have just taken this thing off the deep end and made it unique, waaay beyond any expectations. It is VERY nicely done!! Thanks for another excellent interview/review.
Oh, and Nicole, they can't run anything "Over" in this car. That spoiler just peels the obstruction up off the pavement and flips it over the hood!! 🤣👍

A inline 6 is my preferred sports car motor, I just wish Toyota made it. Though as much as I've always wanted a Supra I'd choose Nicole over this car any day!

Hoping you can find and feature a “twin-charged” vehicle. That is a motor with BOTH a supercharger & turbo.
You’ll hear the best of both worlds: the superchargers whine and the turbos flutter and backfire. A symphony of cool sounds😎🎶🤙🏼

Nicole you nailed it again. KUDOS they for sure nailed it. Loved hearing about the first time you hit 100 mph with your dad. I was a single dad to my youngest two children. I had a fully worked 300ZX Twin Turbo (Using many HKS parts). We were cruising at the speed limit and my daughter asked "dad how fast is your car" "want to find out" "yep" "okay" " and as I wound it out further and further her grin got wider and wider. When I had to back off my son popped his head over from the back ans said "so that's what 200 K feels like". So again Nicole, thanks for showing us another great car and it is a testement to you that they all let you drive them. Loved the way the car sat up on those gers changed. Yes that you man has a brilliant future is that is what he is doing at 18

I'm kind of a simplest when it comes to cars. When the import tuner craze started, I was one of those with the 2000 Civic Si with a body kit, loud exhaust, custom 2 tone factory Honda seats, etc. Now I'm more into simplicity, but I can't deny the time and effort to make this car, which is new on the market, into someone's vivid creation. And for those who say it's way too show car, well that's the entire point, it's bringing attention to their business.

Wow crazy build!! I built a 450hp '76 Camaro with my dad back in the 90's and there weren't very many aftermarket parts like there are now, the aftermarket world has really blown up. Glad I could look back on those days but to build one today would burn your wallet!! Not for the average Joe...

Great video Nicole. I’m more of a classic sports car enthusiast, but that supra is an amazing looking car. They put a lot of thought and attention to detail into this mod. You can see a very high level of craftsmanship and every part of the build serves a purpose. Many times I see beautiful cars modified by people that don’t put much thought into the final outcome and they end up looking trashy with sloppy workmanship. Keep the videos coming. They 100% did this car right. Clean and classy. Stevie had to of been the most chill and trusting person you've ever driven with on this channel. He knew you wouldn't do anything stupid because that car looks crazy expensive. And Nicole you just got a couple more cool points from me knowing your dad had a Pantera. Sweet build! What a great sounds of the engine! I didn't know it has a BMW engine! I had a 92 BMW E34 520i I really enjoyed that car. It was pretty special it was the first with a 5 speed ZF automatic gearbox.

I had always wanted a Supra every since the first time I drove one. I wanted to buy one but they became too expensive. That car is very nice. Father and son did a great job building that car.

Great looking car. Back in 87, I had a Plymouth Sundance, graphic Red with a ground effects kit. 5 speed 2.2 turbo I got a head out of a Dodge Spirit that was a dule overhead cam. The performance chip from Direct Connection Mopar performance parts and the bigger turbo. My Sundance went from 150 HP up to about 250 HP. When it hit full boost, being front wheel drive at lower speed it was a handful. Once you were running over 35 MPH and got on it, it was easier to handle, but you still had to remember that it was front wheel drive. It was a fun car to drive, I traded it in to buy a convertible LeBaron, big mistake on my part. Oh well, I was young and dumb I should have listened to my dad.

The new supra is dope! People get upset about the fact that bmw engineering is top notch! I do think that the kid and his dad did a bit much on the kit.. I'm more for the clean look. But overall it's still a dope set up!
