We left the UK quite a few years ago so grew up with the mentality of 'don't be daft' when it comes to stockpiling. Then we went through a bad storm and then another. Neighbours lost electricity and water had been contaminated due to too much rain. A few years later 9/11 happened and we lost cell service and bridges were closed. A few years later we faced another major storm. We got used to making sure we always had supplies in, even though we were not in a considered rural area. If you can afford it, just keep extra food in and if there is any risk of electric going or losing fresh water, fill your bath and any buckets and pans and build a fire outside if necessary. the vast majority of the UK doesn't get cold enough to worry about needing to stay indoors even in the winter. We learned a lot after leaving the UK. It never hurts to be prepared. This isn't just for rural areas. You may never have to worry about being able to get to a store, but what if the trucks can't get through and the stores are empty.

Its too late to stock plie. Prices are extortionate.

I thought this was just normal for sensible people who have enough money to do this.

We have rain water capture barrels that can be used watering our gardens and flushing our toilets. Most places refuse to take cash when many people depend on it. I batch cook so that I always have food on hand I also have an emergency generator to keep my fridge going. I have plenty of food in my store cupboard. Rice beans tinned soups fruit peas tea bags porridge Strong flour whole meal and plain yeast. Stock cubes olive oil eggs tinned potatoes. Multi vitamins vitamin D Organic Apple Cider Vinegar Turmeric and other spices and herbs. I have a 2 year supply of Homemade Strawberry Jam and pickles. I have a full medical kit and a spare month’s supply of Medication. I have lots of Toilet Rolls and Kitchen Towels. I also have an old fashioned scrubbing board and wringer so that I can keep my bedding and cloths clean. Wind up torches wind up radio and candles and a lot more handy things that I can use in an emergency.

No way!!! I love this bloke, and have been a subscriber of his channel for a while now. He's a very switched on gentleman and someone more people should take note of. Create yourselves a bug out kit people. Edit: No Storm, Leigh was mentioning the kinds of things that preppers are buying due to the current climate of the geopolitical landscape in todays world. There's a saying that i live my life by which goes, as follows "Fail to prepare, prepare to fail".

3 days? A pandemic lasts more than 3 days. Flood i live on a hill and not near a river or sea. The only thing i can think is if a nuclear bomb has gone off then the advice is to stay in 3 days, is this what they are preparing for?

Why do they always put the most annoying out of touch people on this show, would be nice to see people with some common sense.
"It's no good having tinned food unless you got a tin opener" great cheers mate... I always wondered why I struggled to open tins

If you get stuck without a can opener you can open a can using a spoon and rubbing it back and forth on the ring that dips on the top of the can. Easy to find videos of it also kinda amusing party trick
