MONKY LONDON I’ve got a 1.8t Ibiza cupra 06, 180hp standard, has a Milltek decat / deres system with a ramair filter, they only weigh about 1200kg or something stupid from factory so she absolutely flies on acceleration, she does lack once you go over 70 ish but it’s so fun.
Makes me miss my Mk1 LCR seeing this.
Mine was only stage 1. 100% agree with the owner about the Quaife ATB diff. Was the best mod I did to mine along with the Sach organic race clutch and Jabbasport lightened SMF conversion
Used to have one of these engines in a mk2 Golf GTI. Was so much fun.
Awesome cars! Nearly bought one after my EP3, but ended up getting a DC5 integra. An old friend used to have one of these running around 265bhp, we went all over the UK in it several times and it never missed a beat! Alot of car for the money.

I bought one of these new in 2002. Remapped stage 1 Revo... had it for 14 years and did 180,000 miles in it. I looked after it, and it still drove beautifully when I sold it.. just a slight gearbox whine.
I replaced it with a 2010 Cupra mk2.5.
I replaced the mk2 with a mk3 2018 Cupra 300.
The Cupras have been such great cars!

I still drive my 16 yrs old LCR 210hp stock with 290k km on the clock! Bought it new back in 2003 for 17K pounds, it was a bargain. I can't get rid of it, engine's bulletproof, turbo has been faultless all this time. I bought a 330i coupe to replace it six years ago thinking the LCR would soon die, well guess which one stays in the garage from Monday to Friday. I love my LCR so so much.
I own the non R 1.8t running 200bhp and best car I’ve ever owned, Nice sleeper,👍 Prepping for a stage 2 which gives about 250, easily enough for a FWD in my hands and my driving style. Decat 3” resonated Cobra sounds epic.
If yours is the 180bhp model like mine then you should have easily made 210-215 on a stage one map
Just to add....that's crank. 1.8t came with 150/180/210/225/240 crank -10% minimum drive chain loss. Still a good engine no matter what and I like this guy talked about whp not the bigger 400+ crank he could have chatted about.
I've had two Cupra none R 180 and loved then both, enough that I brought another one and still have it with a blown ko3s atm lol. Can see on my videos, I stripped it out mapped it to stage 1+ and she lasted 10k of hard driving...when sold she was still running without any issues...was surprisingly quick against better cars from 60 to 120.
Luke Carr Hi Luke. Yep bit over 200 but that’s what I say👍 Going stage 2 is big money with FMIC, new clutch, PCV delete etc etc and add dyno day it’s a few grand.

Just bought an octavia vrs 2002 with the auq motor. Has a full miltek system with decat intake and remapped to 230 by amd. Love these cupras but I think the octavia is more sleeper.

As a MK2 owner, The MK1 is definitely the Best looking Leon , would love to drive a 1.8T one day
Also, the only problem with the Leon's (MK1 and 2) is boot leaks, if anyone knows how to sort the issue

You should be running NGK iridium BKR7Eix plugs with that power I am and I'm 370 and 400ftlbs was told it's wise if your over 300bhp
not exactly true, a lot still run the copper bkr7e ones, even myself at 324 and still will be when i get it back soon around 400/400

I wonder if the 4wd system from the mk4 golf gti v6 4 motion will fit. Might be cheap. Just a thought.
Completely different frame, won't fit. You can see if you look in the boot of one, the floor is much higher on 4wd

There was also a cupra4 which had the 4motion system in it. It does fit with the same major floorpan work that an s3/tt haldex would. Someone on seatcupra.com did convert theirs.
Bought a couple of Rs new back in the day. Had the 210 K03 and the 225 K04.

210 was the ko4...just not mapped the same. Amk/bam no difference just map.

1.8t is amazing I had it in a full stage 2 motor n turbo but trans was state 3 in my Gli pretty good but no meth just E 85

330 on 89 on E made 443 but the turbos blew
You can’t get any Seat in North America,in South they are basically euro spec,soo you can say that they are Euro Only.
To be honest Cupra’s are more like an Golf R’s(ofc the 2.0tfsi)& S3’s without 4x4 (Haldex system).They share the same engines which are different then GTI’s.
A GTI engine can be found in FR Leon (different interior,suspension,more engines to choose,less sporty/stiff,look almost the same as Cupra in 2nd and 3rd gen lol).
Basically you get a FWD S3 (Powertrain wise) for less then GTI’s price (when new,the used market is almost the same).
P.S. And I forgot all the Leon’s are less lazy in handling then Golf’s no matter the engine (my personal experience,you can argue about if you feel different)
P.S.2 Oh and if somebody want to know there is a VR6 2.8 4x4 Cupra,1.8t 4x4 and a 1.9TDI 4x4 (ARL) all in 1st gen.
And oh yes they are VAG,soo they are easy to modify (few simple bits and can get close to 100hp over the stock ;)
the 4x4 Mk1 Leons are super rare, think they were only ever sold in Spain and Portugal? never got them here in UK which is a shame

I can't remember where they were sold but they did do a 4 wheel drive version of these. But it didn't come with a 20v turbo engine in it.

Yep. It was called the cupra 4 I think, with either 1.9 tdi 150hp or 2.8 VR6 with 204hp.
Think it was called RS and came with a boot spoiler.

On Reunion Island most guys have a Tdi version of Ibiza or Leon they tune them until the black smoke sticks on the road, it's pretty horrible... they make a lot of noise a lot of smoke but only a handful are fast . Gasoline FTW!

My Leon FR 2.0 tdi ST estate is a sleeper... This black Leon is kinda what you expect to see, nothing special about it, sleeper means unexpected, and this is type of power/noise expected from this model 😄

If you get a EU spec cupra they a just a R32 pretty much with AWD and the V6 engine so the best way to get a AWD Leno is just to buy a left hooker and give it a rhd conversion....them 225/bam engines are forged from the factory as well

Am sure you can get seat’s in some parts of South America but not sure about USA
SEAT is only available in Latin America (Ibiza, Toledo and Leon are the most popular there)
Now you need to review Gen2 Mazdaspeed3 or MPS6 if you want the 4wd.
The A3 1.8T is underrated too, lighter than the golf and leon but same powe

No it doesn't. Not completely. If it does check wheel sensors for faults. What happens with a working tc is very good...cuts power but not completely and brings it on nicely and smoothly but will still spin up the wheels
andrew wright Not sure if you’re talking about the R or the 180hp AUQ engine (which I had) but it does cut all power and it definitely isn’t smooth when the power comes back on, no faults neither

320 aint realy that much if I heard what he all has done to it. Running the same engine in my s3 with 525hp and 600nm and thats a streettune.

@@thomasw3449 mine is at the wheels also. Bro we get 310 with just a tune, ic and exhaust over here so......with all the mods he had he should be running more power.
swansmeister yes but you’re running a big turbo , he is still running a k04 sized turbo so will be a little shy of 400 at the fly wheel which is normal for that size turbo. Another thing is dyno, put his on the same one as yours and it won’t make the same figure as he made in the UK
@@thomasw3449 yes I am but we have these driving all over the country with 310hp with a stock turbo and minimal tweaks, just ecu tune bigger ic and exhaust. Thats what I am saying. With my setup and a few more tweaks I could go to 800bhp. Look ot up dvx performance they are well know all over the world.
