I really enjoy Jaime's reviews. Always makes the owner feel proud of their builds. Can't believe some of the negative comments. Yes it's an older car but back when they were released it was one of the most powerful around. Yes, the handling was bad from stock but with the right mods these things can feel planted. They really DO need a dif and gearbox rebuild for this sort of power. Great review and great car. Good build Liam glad to see these still on the road.

Nice to the Mk1 Cupra R on the channel, I had a stage 2 one myself. I’m really surprised the owner kept with the standard Inlet Manifold and not gone for the IE one.. as they’ve shown great mid range return.

That Leon Cupra R mk 1, being at stock mood, was for a while the car with the highest rate HP/CC in the Market, having a 1.8t and 224 caballos in its last version. Actually an achievement, when we are talking about 2005... . It was actually the car I had always wanted to have when I was in my 15/18 . That Old but Gold times...😅

exact same way I'm doing on my Sharan 1.8t, I'm fully forged, supertech inlet and exhaust valves , etc, etc, etc. going for the G25-550 as well..

this is by far my favourite seat leon model. this and the ibiza 6L (no smoke) are CLEAN and great for intelligent modding.
Ah the good old 1.8t 20v, these cupra R's even came in 4wd(haldex gen1) if i am not mistaken.it handels the power great wonder how a LSD would transform this car further.i think with that it will be perfect on the track.And i like that it has the newer G series turbo, spool should be alot better and gives roughly the same power output as the older gtx bigger frame turbo's so a G25 would give roughly the same power as a gtx30 series with better spool.Heard great things about these turbo's and will be looking into these in the future for my 2.0 tfsi ea113 that or a bigger hybrid like the tte 480+ since i like the spool on my tte420.Great review bro as always.You always bring the best projects on here.👍✌️👉

Had a 2002 cupra before the R was released running stage 1 @ 210BHP. looked very similar to this, same silver and was great in third gear also. Can only imagine how hard this one would pull, lovely cars!

I bought cupra mk1 one year ago and im lovin it. should be around 250bhp in few months
Other than the engine turbo and ecu this is a proper budget build.
Probably saving up to upgrade everything else eventually.
But 20k+!!! 🤯
This is similar to where I am going with my MK4 GTi build , it's a fine balance between to much power and getting it spot on, maybe an LSD would also help or a 4wd conversion but then your into silly money for the whole build
