Just because they go to school doesn’t mean that people find them normal: they don’t eat food or drink water; they don’t talk to anyone if they can help it; they’re super pale and their eyes are a unique colour (more observant people would notice that all of the ‘adopted’ kids have the same eye colour and that it changes from gold to black); they trigger fear responses; they all date each other which is *not* normal... Seriously, they’d be better off *not* going to regular high schools. And it wouldn’t be a waste of an eternal exist for them if they didn’t go to high school, because no matter what they look like (or how they act at times - looking at you Edward) they’re not teenagers. They’re decades/centuries old vampires that just had the misfortune of being turned on the cusp of adulthood. They can still respect Carlisle and help him out by not being too obvious without sacrificing their lives by repeating HIGH SCHOOL over and over - that’s not really a good life for them. Also, I know the situation is VERY different but Jane and Alec - despite being turned at 12-14 - act and are treated like adults and the millennia old vampires they are. Aro might be an evil, psychopathic dictator but he at least offers his subjects that level of respect. (So hypothetical here, if for whatever reason Jane and Alec defected and joined Carlisle’s coven should they then have to go to primary/middle school? Just because he wants to work at the hospital and thus wants the coven to “blend in”?)

And personally I think a high school is one of the least safe places for him - the empath with control issues in one of the places over run with pheromones, emotions and lowered inhibitions AND he would be dealing with his siblings’ thirst as well.
