I wasn't sure about the Pico 4 as I already had a Meta Quest 2 but in the end I decided to take the plunge, I'm so glad I did as it's so much better than my Quest 2 which I have just sold 👍
I actually got a cheap £50 TP-link Archer wifi6 router off amazon and it is rock solid, same performance and low latency as I was using USB to thernet tether. also where you get them cool controller straps??? great solid review!
The streaming assistant of the pico 4 is not as good for PCVR as the virtual desktop app is now. With virtual desktop you can still get a lot out graphically compared to the streaming assistant.
Hi a have a oculus quest 1 looking at the 2 but not got the cash for the oculus quest 3 would buying the pico 4 a better up grade or buy the oculus quest 2
Overall, Pico 4 is like a Q2 but with upgrades to the comfort, FOV and resolution that you do appreciate. So for all PCVR gaming and sim racing, it's the better option.
@@30minVR ok thanks I assume higher resolution would mean more GPU power needed My rtx3080 might struggle to maintain a locked 90fps as i can today with the Q2 thats the point worrying me
Appears to be some good improvements; pancake lenses, resolution bump, increased performance. Hoping for a FOV that matches the Pico 4. The Q3 elasticated cheap headstrap is a disappointment (as it is with the Q2), which means the battery is in the front, so it's front heavy.
i am using the Pico 4 all the time for PCVR and it's a better experience compared to Quest 2 in terms of visuals and comfort. I changed the headstrap of the Quest 2 and it's fairly comfortable now, although i also had to exchange the facial interface of the Pico 4 too, since the included one is way too stiff and does not get me as close to the lenses as i want. Nevertheless, the Pico 4 does not have 60Hz and 120Hz, which is very usefeul for recording videos and also playing back VR clips. On the standalone front, the Quest 2 is much better for several reasons. The firmware is better and the games run smoother on the Quest 2. I am playing First Person Tennis a lot and although the APKs are basically the same, it runs much better on Quest 2 in addition to the fact that i can play at 120Hz, which makes a huge difference for those type of games. I am looking forward to the Quest 3 now, which may replace my Pico 4 in a couple of weeks.
@@GioKl-vr2juno, but that depends on the selected resolution and refresh rate. Pico 4 has a higher maximum resolution compared to Quest 2 but Quest 2 has more and higher refresh rates.
@@ProgrammistMusic Sorry for my bad English, what I wanted to say is rather, is the Pico 4 as greedy as the Quest 2 is by default? Because the Quest 2 even with a mediocre quality I find that it requires too many resources. I have a 3070.
@@GioKl-vr2juin PCVR mode the headset itself does not make any difference in terms of headset performance, since the power needs to be on the PC side. The higher the resolution and refresh rate the more power the PC needs to have. I also have a RTX 3070 and i can play some games at the highest possible resolution, but sometimes have to enable frame generation (with SSW using Virtual Desktop) to get at least stable 72fps. I also use DLSS when possible, e.g. in No Man's Sky.
Why are you even watching a video which is a Chinese product? Also your meta quest or iPhone and generally most tech products are made in China anyway!

Does it run good over a link cable for PCVR?
@@Bordz_92you don’t need a link cable it runs on virtual desktop
I have both the Quest 2 and Pico. I prefer the Pico: better resolution and better comfort. Half Life Alyx is amazing on the Pico 4.
what good games are on the Pico store cause I'm so conflicted

Not the most importend unfortunately 😞. Pianovision.

Great shows, I would like to known about flight sim ,it is on DCS will be good. On Stream
Do movies and UA-cam look better compared to the Q2? Not heard many positive things in regards to movies experience with the P4.

Your Quest games won't be accessible on the Pico, so that is an issue if you have lots of games. Otherwise, the Pico is the better headset.
@@30minVR thanks for the reply mate I've only got a few payed games so not bothered about it
Great video❤
