    Awesome colors and loved the idea of the tea strainer. I could see a line of demarcation from the black paint along the diagonal line. I didnt think it was a distraction. I wish we could have seen the dried epoxy canvas. I bet it looked better than ever!!

    I wonder if there would be more of a difference if you were to have just put the 2 colors through the strainer, instead of adding in the white & black as well?! Would be awesome to see all the colors used in another video! I'd love to see them all!! Thanks for sharing!!

  • @jro9365

    The paints are very pretty in color and please please do not take this as criticism because I absolutely do mot mean it that way at all ...
    But I would definitely try that again without the tape ...had the tape not been there the paints would have spread out nice & evenly and held the beautiful pattern you got from the tea strainer . Very cool idea using that strainer !!!! Very creative !!! I love how you are always trying different things & ideas ...keeps things fun . Thanks for sharing. 😉😉😉😉😉

      @@JohnFranklinArt ya know what ...I have spun things out several times never once have I used tape and have gotten the results I was going for just as many many other artists who use a spinner do.... that's actually why they use the spinner . Sorry to have offended you...its your channel to do as you like. Enjoy your art. Again ..I meant no criticism

    • @jro9365
      @jro9365 4 роки тому

      @@JohnFranklinArt I also discussed this whole "tape idea" and showed my comment, your reply along with the "explanation" you provided to another sub who questioned its purpose with some very experienced & extremely popular artists with great SALES and they all pretty much also wondered what the point of it was especially when using a spinner and felt that your explanation made absolutely no sense at all ... but anyway like I said its your channel i meant no disrespect or criticism but if this is how you react to your subs who watch every single video you post since coming across your channel and ALWAYS leave very nice comments ..and share ..
      No thanks. I've never in my life left a poor comment on anyones art but lets just suffice it to say UA-cam is no longer about the actual Talent of the so called artists as it is about video editing & playing the algorithms game. Greetings to you also.....

    • @jro9365
      @jro9365 4 роки тому +1

      There would have been no difference between the two sides no matter what type of paint was used ... it was actually kinda pointless to do a split color canvas .... artists do split color canvases to highlight the paints shades on the 2 different colors but if your going to paint to whole canvas anyway its pretty much pointless. 😉😉

    I agree with you that the only visible difference between the black and white backgrounds is what is visible on the sides. I did notice, at least on my phone screen, the bright lime or almost chartreuse-y green looked goldish coming out of the strainer then pretty much yellow in both wet and dry finishes. ...might'a just been my phone. Paint on, baby! From the Southern California desert, MK. ❤☀️🌵

    It reminds me of the petals of chrysanthemums. To me the black background brings out more of the cooler tones of the colors whereas the white background brings out more warm tones of the colors and their shimmers.

    I like your work, but just want to ask, why the tape? For what you do, on a level surface, it seems completely unnecessary. If you were doing resin, I could see using it. Thank you for sharing these videos, they are delightful.

    • @JohnFranklinArt
      @JohnFranklinArt  4 роки тому +4

      Hi Shannon! I use the tape so that no paint flows from the canvas during the pouring. because I had it so often that I didn't use tape and a lot of color was lost. in addition, the color flows from where it first leaves the canvas, thereby deforming the pattern. Greetings John

    I'd love to see this again without white or black paints in the paint colors. With black and white paint already on the canvas, just curious! I love the iridescent paint and the floral effect of the tea strainer. I don't see a difference on the surface between black and white sides of the canvas. Would the amount of paint on the surface show an effect any difference?
