    Don't be sorry Feng :) We all know that you're very busy and that Design Cinema is Free. Every new vid is a small gem for us, no matter the delay between them. Thanks Feng ! Thanks to all who help producing the show !

      It's ironical coz he doesn't teach at FZD anymore and students are being told he doesn't have time to teach at the school. It's sad because the students weren't informed that Feng Zhu would just leave in the middle of the year. I really like these videos but i feel bad for the students..

      So I guess that the new serie is also designed for these students. I can't feel bad for them. We don't know the others instructors and they study Design not Fine Art, the presence of the "Master" is not required.
      As FZ explains, there is a process for producing consistent expected results and they still have access to all the materials FZ have gathered for them in a confined space with a lot of camarades to compete with/be emulated by. When you see the paintings in this video that are not done by FZ, we can assume that others can teach the technical aspect.
      Now if the creative spirit or the emulation is gone from the school, yes it's a bummer...

      Yeah i guess you are right man. My friend studies there and he says that it's not worth the money to go to FZD because these free videoes are more rich in information. He suggested i do my fundamentals through Scott Robertson and Schoolism and practice with the local community. I think i'll take his word for it since he is there and has a better perspective of the school and instructors.

    Just wanted to go on the record and say I really loved this series. I'm an art director and aspiring Storyboard Artist and this was an incredible real look into the creative process, production timeline, and way more than I could have imagined. UA-cam really lacks a library of storyboarding resources and this is now at the top of that short list for me. Thank you again, Feng! Please extend my gratitude to the entire team that worked on this as well.

    I'm really bad at drawing, but I really want to learn. A lot of people say that the best way to learn is by drawing, but due to my "skill" (or lack of it) I discourage it very easy and I lack ideas of what to draw. Any help with this?

    • @catharsisgaze4894
      @catharsisgaze4894 7 років тому +2

      Maybe consider 30 seconds drawing: You have to be quick, get to draw a lot in a short time and after a while you'll see improvement: line-of-action.com/practice-tools/figure-drawing/

      Try doing some drawings from photos, and think in terms of the underlying shapes rather than the outline. As for ideas, what do you like? Dragons? Elves? Motorcycles? Try making a list of things you might like to draw. Take your time, its better to be slow and more correct than fast and sloppy, speed will come in time. I've found it helpful to try and enjoy the process of drawing, rather than the finished result. Good luck!

      Start by learning perspective. Get "How to Draw" by Scott Robertson. There is no reason to figure everything out on your own. Learn from others :)

      If you have the will, the desire and the determination to learn to draw, you will get better. The only advice to give you is to simply PERSIST!

    I have a suspicion that hollywood would not look extra green/overgrown if no one took care of it for a few years... :D that place would turn into a desert.
