Spokane is a beautiful city that is slowly outgrowing it's infrastructure. As far as I'm concerned, if you like mountains, trees, rivers, and lakes, Spokane WA and surrounding areas are an outdoorsmans' paradise. Great city!
Born and raised in northern Idaho Spokane was the big city to me when I was a kid. You did such a great job of showing some beautiful highlights of the city and surroundings. Living in Cincinnati for 50 years I still love to get back to the part of the county I love.
@@peterussell673 Our perspective changes as time passes and our depth of experience increases. Lots of memories of driving from Sandpoint to Richland where family friends lived. Many in my class went to school at Gonzaga and still have many good friends in the "big city" and the Northwest.

Where you had those two smoke stacks in your video is an excellent restaurant called the Steam Plant. You can eat your dinner inside a large boiler. Another good place to eat is at Frank’s Diner which is inside a Presidential railroad car. We try to stop there if we have time when we visit Spokane. Someone below mentioned Dicks Burgers, my son had a hockey coach who always had to stop and get a bag of their burgers.
Born Native of Spokane. I don't live there anymore, but its amazing. I used to live right on the river the majority of the time being there and it was amazing being able to walk down to the river and always having a open spot to sit alone and relax.
I have never seen travel vlog for my city. Kinda reminds you what a cool little city Spokane is. Not to mention with our freeway and north south main roads. Your really about 20 to 30 minutes away from anything at the most it always feels like.

Spokane is a great city. It’s got lots of hiking, biking and wild turkeys. The only thing I would recommend from personal experience is don’t buy a car there. Other than that your good. Allots of shady car dealers and mechanics pray on the niceness of Spokane

The sculptures of people running are because of Bloomsday. Its a 7 mile run that is actually a lot of fun. I grew up there from when I was 6months old until I was 15 and 1/2yrs old. You shoulda stayed at the Davenport and the best thing about Spokane is the burger place called Dick's Hamburger's its located on like Division and 3rd st. And those gondolas were so unsafe when I lived there. You rode those back when I lived there if you wanted an adrenaline rush. And that water coming over those falls always looked like Mt.Dew because of the green color the water was when it really opens up.
Spokavegas..... such a unique town. Pretty interesting history for it's age, lots of high points, and then the crime societal issues of a city twice it's size...... It and I have a love/hate relationship the past 40 years!
The video leaves out a few highlights like Gonzaga University, the mount Spokane ski area and the close proximity to dozens of lakes and the quaint and beautiful community of Coeur d'Alene. But the video is really well done.

I miss Spokane. I miss sledding down my hill. Around nighttime when it would snow very greatly, it would just be so beautiful with the way the the street is lit up by the the street lights. My neighborhood felt like the North Pole. Around that time when I was a kid we would actually celebrate Christmas at school. As a child it was so wonderful. I went to south pines elementary. We would make Christmas ornaments. Then when it was music time we would go to the music room and sing. And everything just felt so cozy. And that’s not even everything. If we’re thinking positive, there was a lot peaceful people. Not a lot of racism to me. I loved it. I live in California now and I pray I am able to one day move back with a family.
my wife and i visited Spokane exactly one month ago. i had watched this video a couple of times prior to the trip. like you guys we stayed in downtown so ended up going to a lot of the places you featured in this video. according to the locals Spokane is something of a progressive oasis in what is otherwise a pretty conservative part of Washington not to mention being so close to the Idaho boarder. anyways, we enjoyed our time in Spokane and i enjoyed re-watching your video since coming back. It's a pretty good place to move to from the UK, however one of Spokane's only downsides is that housing can get a little pricey. The northside isn't as expensive as the South hill though.
Manito Park was designed by the same man who designed Central Park in New York. And FYI the world's Fair was in 1973. You missed the most stunning gem Spokane has and that is the old Davenport hotel. If you go back it's a must-see. Also the Campbell house is an incredible find.
Maybe it’s because I’m from Los Angeles. I’m completely bored out of my mind. Downtown has many blocks of obsoletely nothing. Buildings with no names was my basic impression. A mall that wants to be an office building but what the heck let’s call it a mall anyway. Family can stay if they want but I’m driving to Seattle tomorrow.

You missed the most stunning gem Spokane has and that is the old Davenport hotel. If you go back it's a must-see. Also the Campbell house is an incredible find.

Maybe it’s because I’m from Los Angeles. I’m completely bored out of my mind. Downtown has many blocks of obsoletely nothing. Buildings with no names was my basic impression. A mall that wants to be an office building but what the heck let’s call it a mall anyway. Family can stay if they want but I’m driving to Seattle tomorrow.

The park is nice (after you pay to park nearby) but walking around downtown feels like a post apocalyptic zombie movie.
You pay to park downtown in every major city in the US. My office is in downtown Spokane and I have yet to be attacked by any zombies. Are you talking about the homeless population?
@@bredding1203it is free to park down in Coeur d' Alene and the park is nicer 😁 and yes the homeless but also many gang bangers. But Spokane is ok overall I would rather be back there then in Portland where I used to live also these days...but I live in the Philippine islands now it is funny how I feel safer in a "third world country"
Spokane has a lovely amount of homeless and drug addicts, makes for a beautiful place to live.

Spokane needs to work on affordable housing, mental health resources, crime reduction and the large homeless population.
visited Spokane recently while on a military TDY, what I saw was aggressive panhandlers on every street corner, potholes, filthy sidewalks and lots of meth mouthed people
That ain’t no shit it has gone downhill in the last five + years.

Beautiful city.... Lots of homeless people begging everywhere. Not safe. Epidemic car break in problem. I was walking my dog at a park and there were drug needles uncapped all over the play ground... Not same place anymore.
This city is a cesspool.

You make it look so nice, however having lived in Spokane since 1980 it is filled with crime so make sure you lock your stuff up and watch out for the drug addicts.
