That is the Valve mentality and it has been so for decades. Ever since HL2 release was pushed back because of hackers, they've simply kept MOST release dates to themselves. People whine about "non-communication" from Valve, but they don't understand why... Say you will release something in 3 days, but in 2 days all of a sudden you have to postpone it, then comes the negativity.. Better to skip negativity and just release content.

It should be. Adding to that, certain maps can have different weather to add gameplay dynamics. Either modifying the sound, movement, or god forbid RNG to weapons malfunction. That would be sick.

I don't even play CS, and don't have any real interest in doing so, but seeing Valve coming back to _game_ development and finally seeing the fruits of Source 2 (CS2, HL: Alyx, Aperture Desk Job) just fills me with such joy. It feels like seeing the old Valve again. It makes my poor TF2 heart hope beyond hope. Source 2 isn't the most advanced graphics in the world, but what it excels at is a _consistently_ all around great look and ease of running its games. It still looks super detailed (even in VR), but it's less heavy than most other high-detail games.
As a TF2 player, I'm very happy for the CSGO community! (valve has abandoned us, this is a cry for help) EDIT: The Summer update has arrived, Supreme Overlord Gaben has answered our prayers! Now we just need the Heavy update to come out...

Fun fact: Ever since CS 1.6, there have been 3 Major versions of Counter Strike released: CS:CZ, CS:S, and CS:GO. Which can be named alternatively as CS 1.7, 1.8, and 1.9. Making CS2 logical in the version timeline.
as a gamer who played counter strike already when it first came out in version 1.0 back in 2000 i would have never ever imagined that i would be still playing videogames at age 42. so happy to see them announce CS2. honestly can't wait.
An engine that looked impressive when the L4D2 Plantation level screens leaked in 2014.. I mean it still looks good, but only one major game has been released on this engine (bar DOTA2) for all the time it's been around, S&box doesn't count because it's not made by Valve. It's just sad. Where's L4D3?! That game needed a sequel ages ago as it's so bare-bones.

After spending like 10 years trying and failing to make Half-Life 3, Valve finally is making stuff again. Alyx, Steam Deck, the new Big Picture UI, giving Source 2 to S&box, and now CS 2. What a time to be alive!
Source 2's Hammer for Half Life: Alyx was the most fun I had using ANY sort of Hammer editor. Now, it's in a non-VR game! I'm sure workshop creators will love the new editor and all the other tools that come with it
Also the new garry's mod successor made by the same people, S&box, also uses source 2. It is truly getting close to replacing source 1 entirely, we just need at least a good single player game or two to round things out.
A game that was not even a game in fact , but a custom modification of Hal Life, for almost 25 years ! remains so beloved and popular (although so many "killers" of this game have been announced) I would also compare the CS with a serviceable reliable bike - no need to put the steering wheel from the car on it , lift up the front or rear wheel , swap them or attach additional wheels - just change the chain and bushing , lubricate with oil and update the tires on the wheels - everything is fine

@@auraskadante6273 Bruh...come on man don't jizz on my cupcake and tell me it's frosting, The game started out as a perfectly balanced hero shooter that was 6v6, Then they started adding too many hybrid characters and the pros figured out that the offensive characters were obsolete and 3 tank 3 healer was the way to go because of the hybrids, At this point the game was broken instead of blizzard acknowledging this they instituted a class lock and the game was instantly dead, OV2 Is even further of a step back because blizzard refused to acknowledge the game play in balance because of the hybrid characters so they shrunk the game to 5V5 and instituted and even harsher class lock, The game is trash now is the perfect time for valve to revamp team fortress

I don't even play CS, and don't have any real interest in doing so, but seeing Valve coming back to _game_ development and finally seeing the fruits of Source 2 (CS2, HL: Alyx, Aperture Desk Job) just fills me with such joy. It feels like seeing the old Valve again. It makes my poor TF2 heart hope beyond hope.
Source 2 isn't the most advanced graphics in the world, but what it excels at is a _consistently_ all around great look and ease of running its games. It still looks super detailed (even in VR), but it's less heavy than most other high-detail games.

It's literally just a big update to CSGO don't get too excited bro.
An engine that looked impressive when the L4D2 Plantation level screens leaked in 2014.. I mean it still looks good, but only one major game has been released on this engine (bar DOTA2) for all the time it's been around, S&box doesn't count because it's not made by Valve. It's just sad. Where's L4D3?! That game needed a sequel ages ago as it's so bare-bones.
HLA is also made in Source 2
Realistically we probably will get a L4D3 I'm guessing it's a similar issue to HL where the expectations are high as hell and they don't wanna screw it up

Source 2's Hammer for Half Life: Alyx was the most fun I had using ANY sort of Hammer editor. Now, it's in a non-VR game! I'm sure workshop creators will love the new editor and all the other tools that come with it
Also the new garry's mod successor made by the same people, S&box, also uses source 2.
It is truly getting close to replacing source 1 entirely, we just need at least a good single player game or two to round things out.

Oh man, I really love this game.
A game that was not even a game in fact , but a custom modification of Hal Life, for almost 25 years ! remains so beloved and popular (although so many "killers" of this game have been announced)
I would also compare the CS with a serviceable reliable bike - no need to put the steering wheel from the car on it , lift up the front or rear wheel , swap them or attach additional wheels - just change the chain and bushing , lubricate with oil and update the tires on the wheels - everything is fine
God damn that gameplay at the end looks so much more transformative than I was expecting. Outstanding job
