Hey! Thanks! We got it done in just a day, not sure the hours. I’m also not sure on the fireplace dimensions and we no longer live in that house to measure. But make sure you measure any space of yours to get the correct sizing. We just made sure it looked good for our size of space on the wall and looked up on Amazon for a fireplace that would fit it.
Nice work. I’m thinking of doing this in my living room also. I’m just wondering what you did with the sides of that frame? I’m sure it’s not just bare wood.
I think it was about $800 for everything at the time we did this which was Nov of 2021. We looked up the fireplace we bought and it’s currently on sale for $270 when we got it for $370. Lumber and shiplap may be higher right now but maybe not.
We found it for a really good sale at our hobby lobby but here’s the link for it. www.hobbylobby.com/Home-Decor-Frames/Mirrors-Wall-Decor/Wall-Clocks/Matte-Black-Metal-Wall-Clock/p/80987937 You can find the same one on Amazon but it’s more money. amzn.to/3CWcPn9
Like she said, I did reference a few different videos as I built this, but this is one I probably referenced the most (I just reduced the depth a bit, from what I recall): ua-cam.com/video/ON_xRrrpinc/v-deo.html
One more comment, when I was framing it out on the ground, I tacked it all together with 2 1/2” Brad nails before I screwed it all together - I mention this because it seemed like a huge help at the time.
Primarily just 2x4’s to frame it all out but I believe I used 2x8’s on the backplates against the wall. Just try to eyeball the materials you buy to ensure they’re as straight as possible.
You have a tutorial or instructions you can help a brother out with? lol.looks great👍🏽

We put the shiplap on the sides as well and then put trim on the edges to hide to edges and corners.
How did you find that angle. Doing a similar job
Overall, how much did this cost to do? Wife and I have ceilings similar to yours and would love to do something similar to this!

Is there a tutorial for this?
We may have to create a tutorial but we don’t have a specific one. We watched a few different UA-cam videos to figure out how we wanted to do it.

Annoying song
I’ll be sure to let the song know you think so since you seem incapable of telling it yourself! 👍 Maybe you guys could work it out!
@@WanderingFam didnt want to offend you buddy. Just my opinion. Take it as a feedback.😀
