Banshees are the shit dude! I drove my banshee for the first time past weekend and I was totally blown away! 2 strokes 4 ever!

I have a GASGAS 300 too. Amazing quad. Unfortunately, a limited number were imported into the States so not too many people know about them. I've done some of the same upgrades, S3 head, V-force reeds, etc. I wish I could find an aftermarket pipe. I read an ESR TRX5 pipe works with slight modifications.
I've the s3 head too, great mod. Some people cut the silencer to make it shorter... You gain nothing but it sounds better. I might try doing that :)

I owned 1 for about 3 years back when they first came out.i raced it really hard and it did good but parts where hard to get sometimes. The engine ran absolutely fabulous.

I raced Mine in local MX, short track, GP and WORCS nationals in 04-05, in addition to dunes & trails riding... still have it, too. need to get it out again. love that sound!
04-05 was the golden age for those gas gas. Shame they came out too late, just when modern 450 appeared. Thanks for watching! :)

@@kylebeach2316 When I bought the Gasgas in 2011 I was conviced I could keep up with 450's. I was wrong... I had fun trying though!
The engine is fine, it has decent torque (for a 2 stroke) and the aluminium frame helps keeping weight low. But the chassis geometry it's not designed for racing. The distance between the foot pegs and the seat is too high, so when you have to lean your body on the corners it takes so much effort.

Grew up quads, last one i had was a Banshee. Then i got a dirt bike............never went back. Id still like a built/stretched Banshee in the dunes, but Motocross is the shiznit. I have So much more fun on dirt bikes.

I've bought a rolling gasgas wild.. no engine with it but I have got a ported good running Tecate4 250 motor I might graft into it.

I talked to a motorcycle dealer who himself has 2 gas gas wild 300, but many parts of the axles or suspensions also fit from other manufacturers.
The DuraBlue axle was not only built for GASGAS, as were the axle carriers etc.
Here you have to look a little and do some research, then you can do it.
That's correct. This quad was built like a Frankenstein. It uses part from many other atv's. The swingarm is from a yamaha yfz for instance. And last year I had to replace the air filter and it turns out it's the same as a honda CR500.

I had one of those quads, they rip. It walked both my yzf450 and built trx450 with ease.

@@maranelloo18 yeah it would make it easier, one thing I did was replace the rear carrier bearings with Honda 250r units because the originals are really hard to find. Did have to do a small amount of machining on my the carrier to make it work but not too bad. Was a really reliable quad though and I rode it hard. From dunes, trails and some Mx in the summer to wide open ice racing in the winter it did everything well. I have been riding quads for 25yrs and have had many different two stroke machines and the gas gas was one of my favorite quads. The stock front a arms have a funny geometry and had a lot of bump steer but once I went to a aftermarket set it was much better.

@@maranelloo18 yeah it was a fun machine for sure. I love two strokes so it was right up my alley. I would have kept it but I decided to build my version of the ultimate two stroke quad. I started with a 300ex chassis, strengthened and modified a bit, full race a arms, suspension ect, 250r style plastics. Now it’s just a matter of what engine I go with. Either going to be a big bore cr250 setup or possibly a cr500. Kinda just depends on what i come across this summer. In the end I’m shooting for 60+hp two stroke light weight quad that will hurt some four stroke feelings lol. I rode the machine with a big bore 360cc four stroke and the stability and handling was amazing, so once I get some real power in this chassis I think it will be my version of the ultimate two stroke do everything quad.

there was a big difference in pulling power and top speed between the gasgas and the banshee I think the gasgas was almost as fast or not less weight is better than more hp they always used to say at the motocross
Yes I think the same rule of motocross aplies on quads. Les weight and more controllable powerband makes the quad faster :)

There are only a few bunch of those in the States, most of em are in poor condition because the lack of replacement parts. I wouldn't recommend buying this ATV anyway... I mean, if you can find one in decent condition it's OK, but there are many other options out there I would rather be spending money on (TRX250R, Banshee 350, LTR250r, Tecate 250...). I got this Gasgas when I was young, and I wasn't smart enough to wait for something that I really liked came across.

GasGas don't sell those new anymore, but there's a bunch of used and abused for sale. Keep in mind there's no spare parts anywhere so that's a big cons.

It's based on the honda trx, yes. Some people fitted 250r fenders with minor modifications. But GasGas is who built those atvs.
