I really love going back at looking at these videos over and over. It makes me fall in love with mine all over again. But I also forget all of the different uses for them too. Whomever designed these was a sheer genius.
Yes, he did a great service to all of us with this invention!
His name was Ron Hickman, an automobile designer.
I was bequeathed my stepdad’s workmate 425 & am learning how good this extra hand is. Your videos help greatly. I don’t know how old this one is but it is tough. Thanks for the instructions.
Glad you like them. Thanks for stopping by.
Just wanted to say, you’re the best! Thanks for these!
You're very welcome!
I like how you showed the finished look so I knew while whatching "how to" what the goal was. Thanks.
I've saved both Getting the Most out of your Workmate and have some GREAT ideas now,
You are certainly welcome and thanks for stopping by.
I just bought my first WM425 yesterday after watching your videos and am very happy with it. The quality exceeds my expectations! Have you made a video showing how to disengage the dual handle operation enabling the use of tightning one side independently from the other?
Brilliant would never have thought that
Thanks and thanks for stopping by. Cheers!
Nice job on this video! I recently pulled my long buried vintage 1986 Workmate 425 (black top) out of the corner and cleaned it up. It works as good as new and is a great multi-purpose table. Mine lacks the V-votches for holding pipes/dowels vertically, so I think I'll add them.
Rico M Welcome to my channel and congratulations on your Workmate 425. I know your going to get a lot of use out of it. I think putting in the V-Notches is a good idea. Thanks for stopping by and posting.
You’re doing a great job. Really enjoy your presentation style, especially on the instructional/informational vids. Please keep them coming.
Hey Tales of the Gold Funky - Welcome to my channel. Yes, I will keep them coming... have a bunch more to get done. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Cheers!
Great video, thanks, iI think I’ll treat myself for Christmas! Say, do you think I could use this to hold lawnmower blades while they’re being sharpened? I don’t own a vise, and actually this might be a better alternative, and I could use the bench for other things. Thanks!
Yes, you could use this to hold your blades. You might want to place a piece of something that would prevent it from slipping on either side of the blade. Cheers!
Great videos for the Workmate. I'm a home diy'er who is new to woodworking. I own the Workmate 425 and am overwhelmed by the 3rd party clamp options available. Can you recommend an alternative to the discontinued Gripmates? Ideally something available on Amazon. Thanks! **UPDATE - I just found your video suggesting the Silverline clamps. I'll give those a try, but if you have discovered anything else since then, please let me know here.
Thank You Mr. WorkMateGuy ! :)
You're welcome!
Hi. Thanks for the all the videos on the 425. I currently have a 225 and plan to upgrade mainly because of the vertical clamps. I noticed that there is a plastic belt between the knobs. How easy is that to replace? It seems to be a part that will likely break from usage.
It should not be too difficult to replace. You might be able to find a replacement at ereplacements.com
great videos - very informative and presented well too - can the 425 be used with 4x8 stock like plywood or siding?
It would be very difficult without additional support in some clamping situations. Thanks for stopping by.
Looking for a simple workbench to make projects out of pallets. Would this be a good beginner table to be used in a small space? Thanks in advance.
Yes, absolutely.
Hiya. Could you tell me how i could use it safely with a circular saw ?
Home depot has the 125 for $12 right now. I ordered 2 of them a d it is free shipping.
A great price!!!
Very informative. Can you create more?
I have been busy on other contract video production. When I am done I will get back on this channel with more content.
I bought the grip mates but didn't know about the inserts. It didn't come with them. I'll have to figure out a way to make them work.
It should be relatively simple to figure out. Cheers!
After spending a few hours looking in the amazon and various woodworking supplies websites tonight, I gave up (for the evening) looking for some clamps to use with my old B&D 79-003 workmate. Then stumbled upon this video. Hey, that's pretty much what I've been looking for and with much doubt, trotted of to the ebay and LOW & BEHOLD found a like new set, stated as used but still in with the box AND the plastic "dog adapters?" you mentioned. I trust they'll be shipped tomorrow ;) Thanks WoodMateGuy!
P.S. Oh, I found two other sets, one w/box the other w/out, but they didn't have the plastic "dog insert" things. Shame those inserts can't be sourced somewhere.
Hi David, you are certainly welcome. You should be able to find additions dogs at ereplacementparts.com. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Cheers!
I thought that was George Carlins voice
Thanks!
