That book is really something special. He created so much work in such a short time. You can really see his style develop. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! 😊👍
Wonderful, inspiring books! Thank you so much for sharing ❤ When i go to estate sales I always keep an eye out for art supplies and art books! I don’t know where it is at the moment to give you the title, but I picked up a book couple years ago and discovered an impressionist artist named Konstantin Korovin . Talk about mind blowing!! The way he painted light and moody scenes is literally breathtaking. Keep an eye out for him in your books. 🤘
These books are superb. I love the Impressionists. I own the Van Gogh book. He is one of my favorite artists. I was inspired by the film "At Eternity's Gate" staring Willem Defoe as Van Gogh. The film is like a moving Van Gogh painting. Another inspiring Van Gogh film is called "Loving Vincent" - a film that created a story inspired by the subjects of his painting and actually painted by artists all over the world. An amazing project.
What a good concept to open up about. We often get too focused on our own style that we lose sight of learning. Getting books or material about art is important. Continuously learning should be top priority in any subject, art included. Lots of great pictures in there. Thanks for sharing. The next time I’m in a store I’ll peruse the art section more! 😊
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed it! It’s amazing how much you can learn by just studying a few paintings in a book. I could spend hours in the art book section! 😊👍
Fat over lean applies to all art mediums. And what it means is that you put your lightest weight such as water soluble products on the bottom first layer then you put your heavier mediums such as oils and then waxes onto your layers
@@artbyheather you are very welcome. That lesson made a huge difference in the work I do with colored pencil learning to put my hard oil pencils down before I go in with soft waxy pencils made a huge difference in how my photorealism came out
Yes the cover picture is different. It looks to be an updated 2023 version but it has the same number of pages and same description. I found the older 2016 version that I have and changed the link to it just in case. Thanks for pointing that out! I don’t want to confuse anyone, or link something incorrectly. ❤️😊👍
Thanks for reviewing this book. It's definitely a must-have😊
You’re very welcome! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! 😊👍
I have always liked impresinest paintings. Maybe because my paintings are so messy. 😊
A beautiful mess! 😊👍
I have ordered the Van Gogh book

I have almost watched both of those movies. They are definitely on my watch list now! 😊👍
I own the Van Gogh book but must get the Art techniques one. I need to learn oils to finish a painting my father didn’t get finished before he died.
I’m so sorry to hear that. I hope the book can help get you on the right path for oil painting so you can feel more confident to finish his work. ❤️😊👍

Thanks! That’s good to know! I always thought it was only for oils. 😊👍

The Artist’s Painting Technique book link seems to be different than the one you are showing. Perhaps updated? This book looks fab.
