Self diagnosis is fine - _for the purposes of better understanding yourself only._ You should never self-medicate, and you should NEVER self-medicate based on a self-diagnosis.
@@renmcmanus I have all the symptoms of autism - have from an early age. My parents never took me to a doctor for it. Thankfully, it's not a medicatable condition, so I've never been tempted. But my sister has ADHD. If you try to self-medicate for ADHD, it can go very poorly. In addition to the fact that you aren't trained to calculate dosing, if you happen to be wrong about your diagnosis, medication can kill you. Especially if you have _another_ undiagnosed condition to exacerbate a response. Self-diagnosis can help with coping - knowing I probably have autism helps me be aware of certain behaviours and process my thoughts differently, hopefully with fuller, more accurate context. But that's about all it can do. Keep the stakes low, don't medicate if you aren't medically proficient.
@@renmcmanus so I get what your trying to get at, but it depends on the severity of the individual and what they are dealing with. I've personally been diagnosed since I was a single digit, I am very much a supporter of people whom suffer from mental health issues and neurodivergence's and you see a hell of a lot when you interact with people outside yourself whom have the same "issue". And if you met me in real life I 100% believe you would ask what is wrong with this person, even though we might have similar symptoms we both might not be able to handle them in different ways. I also have seen it where a person has gone to several different psychologists and gotten several different diagnosis. in truth in my experience the person who finds out first what is wrong is the one suffering from it. and then receive a diagnosis because they can no longer deal with it. though the other way around is possible it is the less likely of the scenarios. also i want to jump in here real quick about autism because my nephew is autistic and me and him can completely understand each other to the point where his doctor wanted to speak with me and diagnose me with autism. the truth of the matter is most people with ADHD are able to understand how other think because our own brains work on completely different levels and through even the slightest form a body language we can pick up on issues from a whole group of people. So what you might think is you being autistic is actually your ADHD brain interpreting something that you have been in contact with before and you don't even realize it. but to reiterated what I said in the beginning I understand what your trying to say but its not like that for everyone and for some people theses things can be crippling
@@aodhfyn2429 so if I may I would just like to drop a few words here. first of all even though there is not official medications for autism they are finding stuff that does help and work in treating symptoms people struggle with. so if you were tempted to try and find help for better overcoming obstacles like that, then there is an option for that. second point i want to state is that i 100% agree self medicating yourself in a bad idea but not because of some of the reasons you list here. first a lot of ADHD medications are stimulants and those are probably the ones you were thinking of where they can have terrible side effects like your heart literally exploding (I was on those for a good portion of my life) the other ones that they use to treat ADHD tend to be used in other phycological applications from anti psychotics, to anti-Depressants and though these tend to have less life threatening side effects some can mentally harm you in either the long or the short term. example when I was younger I tried two different medications of the non stimulant type, one made me disinhibited (which means I kind of lost my self and tried putting myself into a wall. not joking) and the other actually made me so hyper my mother had me running towels up and down the stairs one at a time all day long. mind you they both were non stimulants and both had terrible reactions in my system. now that said usually people first step toward receiving treatment is a self diagnosis which is either confirmed or denied by a medical professional and I always encourage people to seek medical advice when it comes to these things before trying any form of treatment. also I Encourage people to look at what there state offers when in the USA because some states of Mental Health programs to help get you help for little or no cost if insurance is something you lack. also im not saying your comment way wrong but that maybe add a little more information next time.
What I learned: 1. Benching is a scam 2. Buff’s fav story is how her friend’s life was ruined by the state forever (no job, no voting, no gun, marked until death) 3. Buff has a Cooch actually made of Iron.
When Mouse and Buff talked about drinking too much and and how everyone throws up at least once from drinking... I felt a little weird, since that's never happened to me. I have a medical condition where I can't get hangovers, no matter what I drink or how much of it. So in college I would drink a ton at parties, then feel no real side effects the next morning, I didn't get nauseous much either, for some reason. One time I blacked out for a couple hours and woke up on a couch... and I felt fine. Unfortunately I can't really do anything useful with that ability, didn't come up much after I finished college.
My medical experience has basically been the same as Buff. While I haven't had anything extra left in my body, thankfully. My big one was when I got sick on the first day of my junior year of highschool. I would be sick for about half of each month until February when I finally got diagnosed with Mono. Granted, I didn't do things that would be associated with Mono like sharing drinks etc, but I kept asking for a mono or strep test and not getting them. Once they eventually did it came back instantly. I mean, it was about a 3 minute wait for the result.
Girls i know are often uncomfortabe with public restrooms. its quite common. im a guy and dont have those issues . i had more with showers in high school. wasnt comfortable takeing public showers.
Point about that kemono suit maker, K-Line, they are NOT the kind of company you wanna get a suit from, their legal stuff is bizarre, and they are in general just pretty awful. There's makers who are just as good in Japan though, and they aren't as bad.
ok I have to jump in here and comment here.. what ever place told you that they cant test you for ADHD because you have PTSD were fucking wrong. I have both, I was tested for both. are there similarities yes but they are not 1-1 the same. sorry for the rant but stupidity like that bothers me especially when it comes to mental health. also a good friend of mine is an ER doctor and a Trauma Surgeon and he probably wouldn't know what illness you have because its not his specialty but he would find out as fast as possible and if there was another doctor available he would try and get them to take over. problem is in hospitals is that those doctors are either not available, reachable or they just plane don't work at that hospital except maybe once a week. and when that is the case there really isn't any one who he can turn to for help except "google" or medical records etc.. that said you would probably want my friend as your doctor in the ER because he is quick on his feet and he never takes anything for granted. hell he had a patient come in with a headache and he sent that patient for an MRI saved the dudes life too because his headache was being caused by a clot that was pressing on his brain. there are all sorts of different kinds of doctors and at best a lot of it is a guessing game.
