Mr. Bennett I want to thank you very much for this particular video, I have been waiting patiently for this video. Your layout is beautiful and very well done. I really enjoy your UA-cam channel and all your work on your railroad. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family. I can’t wait to see what 2021 brigs to the Bennett Railroad. 👍🏻
So inspirational, thank you, not a late 50’s early 60’s modeler, but definitely inspirational for my late 80’s mid 90’s layout, you size of layout is what most of us can do with the space we have
Excellent video Rob. as always. It was nice to see everything put together in one shot to see how it relates to the rest. We, Leeann and I, look forward to seeing the transformer factory going in. You have added Shortys work in such a way it does it justice. The tribute to your dad is awesome. Might we suggest naming the railroad the " Eugene, Bennett and Consolidated" or some such wording? Merry Christmas Rob. Dave semi retired trucker, model railroad builder, and now a general nuisance to Leeann
Its great and I cant wait for the small details when you start finishing the layout... People, trash, debri and such will only make this great layout look better... Congratulations...
Thank you for this video. I've been watching your videos for some time now and this really puts everything into focus. Your work on everything is magnificent and an inspiration to me to continually improve my work on my Watertown Northern short line layout.
YES!! It was by popular demand! GREAT layout. Perfect attention to details. You may think you're long winded. It's never too long. Thank you and Happy Holidays.
I requested this video, so glad you made the effort to make this. You have a great layout as it stand I look forward to its future progress a running session in the future perhaps.
Your layout is beyond belief and extremely well built. One of the most photogenic I've seen for the era you model! We can't wait to see and learn more!
Rob, such a gorgeous and beautiful layout, very calming to watch and see your trains operate. Thanks again, can’t wait to see your next build on the Gorgeous & Beautiful R R.
Thanks Rob, I've been tracing back trying to catch up with the old videos and this one now makes everything much clearer with what's going on and where we're up too. I love the layout.
Awesome layout, really looks like you’ve been working hard for a number of years, and it shows what you can do with a good model railroad track plan. Great modeling too, so keep up the good work!
One of your " Off the cuff" Or I guess you could call it " Side comments", And this might not sound like a big deal to you or anyone else reading this but. When you were talking About your tunnel coming from staging, It was that you weren't really happy with it "... But does it work, Yeah..." actually really helped me with a fairly big decision I have to make on my own layout. That one small statement helped me tremendously. And no LOL that is not the only thing I took away from your gorgeous layout. Beautifully done... And I'm in the process of going through your previous Videos and gaining tremendous insight. Thank you sir!
So much achieved. It seems like an age since you posted all those wiring updates and I used to think GET TO THE SCENERY. LOL. Great tour. Cheers from the UK.
Wow, your electrical is amazing! Laughed at the feline comment-have that issue with my cat and 1:12 miniature model of our furnished 1769 colonial house. The backdrops transition perfectly to the layout scenes...you are so talented! Thanks for the tour.
Rob, your layout is truly an inspiration to me and countless other modelers. Thank you for all of your how to’s and ideas. It’s extremely motivating to watch your work!
Very well done. Been following since the inception and empty room! Open layouts are nice to look at anyway. Monster undertaking too! Informative and enjoyable to watch your segments. Best wishes.
Beautiful layout! Thank you so much for the detailed tour. Every time I watch your videos I find myself trying to picture how that specific area ties into the “big picture”, now I have a complete vision. Awesome work & I look forward to future videos!
Merry Christmas Mr. Bennett, the hanks for the tour I’m from Brazil to be able to enjoy a layout like yours, I mean see it evolve is a true pleasure. =)
The Bennett Railroad has a nice ring to it. But you'll need to get one of those fancy- shmancy carriages with a balcony on the back, so you can have your mobile office, with workshop of course, being towed around on the rear of one of your trains (possibly not quite the right terminology, but hey?). Great to see a tour and good to know you are finally getting round to fitting up Sharon. Should be a nice change of pace from Lake City. And then you have to change mind-set again, into a Park Ranger for next winter, to finish all the tree planting and shrubs and other undergrowth. Great tour Rob, and thanks so much for the great year. Keep well, and lets hope we are all with you this time next year. Keep babbling mate.
I’ve been watching since the beginning. I know how you feel, seeing something in your imagination, then slowly watching it come into being. Great video, and tour. I constantly go back to watch the scenery videos. You are beyond excellence. However I do believe you are just a tad ADD! But that’s what makes it beautiful. Hope the new year brings you closer to your dreams.
Awesome layout. I think everything is fantastic. I like the one part that you had the track behind the buildings. It is a nice change and looks real that way. You did an amazing job. Love it! ❤️
Stephen I’m in uk and luv what you do stay real mate. Thanks for your insight and find you quite inspiring like you say it’s your layout and can do what turns you on the good and maybe not so good changing as you go along that’s me also haha that’s what it’s about. Stay safe and all the best.
This layout is one of the best I've seen, just fantastic! Another very realistic looking model railroad. I like how you have in the particular year of '57. You should be proud of yourself!
Merry Christmas! I've been following since layout update 7 and I think you have done a fantastic job! You continue to impress week to week and/or job to job and I've learned so much from you. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Stephen, that's a lovely tour of the layout. I have been following your progress since before you started with the coal yard, engine terminal etc etc rebuilding. For some reason UA-cam stopped notifying me of your new content, so this was a great video to enable me to catch up with progress made recently. Very enjoyable and I hope to be able to keep up to date now. Best regards from Dave in the UK.
I can only dream of having half the layout you have, don’t ever feel bad about anything you’ve done, like I said, has inspired me to get off my Covid ass and get her done
Rob super impressive Your skills really showed up, excellent 👍👍👍,your dedication to the hobby really comes to life in your work Let's see some trains running the whole layout Merry Christmas
I've been watching your videos for perhaps 2 years, and enjoy them for the ideas put forth, the content and methods you show, and the thought you put into your decision making. The major changes you have accomplished with beautiful results are admirable. Yet, you seem almost disappointed with some results. The "shoulda, coulda, woulda" can be a tough way to assess your accomplishments. Your results do work well, look good, and otherwise accomplish what you set out to do. Maybe just allow yourself to enjoy the results a bit more! In my experiences, had I done some of my "shoulda's", the results may have produced LESS acceptable results than what I actually got! You have a great looking, very functional railroad. I think it will be very enjoyable to operate once we get past this "social distancing" period, and can get back to just being sociable. Great work!
Wow! Big! I believe I started watching as Wallace Juntion was being redone. I really want to go back to see all the earlier work, but time is an issue. So for now that's bucket list. I really like the construction videos, and the thoughts behind the design. Plus I'm a PRR guy, just 10 years earlier because I like steam. Looking forward to the transformer plant build.
Bennet è veramente un bellissimo plastico ricco di particolari che danno la sensazione di essere in un paesaggio reale curato nei minimi particolari ho seguito molto volentieri la tua spiegazione. Auguri di buone feste
Not sure of the time differences but have a great Christmas (or hope you've had a good Christmas!) and thanks for another year of entertaining videos on your amazing layout. Cheers
50:00 - My cat managed to climb the loft ladder and have a wander around the layout. All that stuff about them being graceful and agile is just propaganda from the Ministry of Cats! ;-) I constructed a cover for the top of the ladder!!!
The layout is looking great, Rob...I agree some of the stuff in front of the main and switching is awkward but your work arounds are adequately thought out and should work with some care. Too bad some of the crew lounge couldn't be used for more branch and staging on shelves. Love what you've done with this re-build. Merry Christmas and thanks so much for the tour.
Didn't expect another one so soon but you did it again Rob; another hour that just flew by - great entertainment. It's something you've been needing to do and you did it really well. I don't think you need a fancy name for your railroad - "The Bennett Reilroad" sounds just fine - you should use the name more often. One thing that's puzzled me for a while is the way you're shying away from automatic/magnetic uncoupling. With the stuff/systems/gadgets/devices that you've put together, you can surely do something with the technology that's out there, or adapt something, or design and build something, so the whole railway can be run "hands-off"? Apart from saving folk stretching over buildings, signals etc, it would reduce wear and tear on your rolling stock too. Apart from that, I can think of 𝑛𝑜𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑎𝑡 𝑎𝑙𝑙 to moan about. It all makes sense(mostly), from the "real world" track plan, right down to the location of each siding. Wallace Junction did once have a North - West connecting spur, a mile or so north of the junction: subsidence, caused by extensive **??** - mining, caused it's closure way back in the '40s and no trace of the old alignment can be seen today. With limited space for run-rounds and cuts in signalling staff since the colour lights went in, the diversion was the cheapest and easiest operating solution. Would love to see a live ops session one day and I'm 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 looking forward to the transformer plant going up. Cheers for now, and Merry Christmas,🎄 Dougie.
Wow, Rob. That was great. It's good to get the big picture. I also have a gate that has been a problem. My #1 issue is that my hinges are too small. If I had it to do over, I think I would use a drop-in section. I also don't have enough staging--not enough room.
It’s a great layout, I like the way you are honest about the quirks and bits that are not perfect. I don’t have space for a layout so I will subscribe to yours and check in now and again and pretend it’s mine !
Hi Rob many thanks for the videos they’re great and certainly give me something to look forward to. May I take this opportunity to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year. Looking forward to watching more videos in the new year. Best Wishes Sesn
Another GREAT video Rob, enjoyed the layout tour! I have been following your channel since the pond build at east Eugene and I think your scenery skills rival Luke Towan. One thing you could do for us modelers is to compile a list of suppliers you use. I wish I had noted them as I watched the videos, as I now do. Thanks for sharing your love of the hobby. Happy Holidays!
great video as always, its always fun to watch your videos. i look forward every time you post one, your sense of humor really make them entertaining, keep up the fantastic job. Merry Christmas and have a great New Year.
Great tour! I recently 'found' your channel when searching for videos on installing the Walthers DCC Turntable (I just ordered one!) and I have to say your layout is VERY impressive! Beautiful scenery and buildings. This video left me feeling like I was just at an NMRA open house! So thank you for that dose of 'anti-Pandemic medicine'!
Great tour. I have been watching your videos since you started building the layout. Your information and wisdom has been informative. Its been interesting to see how the layout has evolved. You should consider doing a NMRAx clinic on this layout.
Did I mention that I’ve only been a subscriber to your channel for about a week and have only seen a few of your great videos. Besides your HOW TO’S your layout tour was great and very helpful in seeing all that you’ve done on this magnificent layout, GREAT JOB, IT LOOKS AMAZING and I thank you for all of the great videos that I’m trying to catch up on. Enjoyed the tour. Laughed at your comments, as we have all made the same "mistakes" or which I would have done differ. I am in the process of making some changes on my 25 year old layout.
Thanks for sharing! Don’t listen to the complainers, it’s your layout and it looks good. I’m just getting started on my new layout the (South Olympic Branch). It’s in a 11x24’ space. Long ways to go. Keep up the good work.
First time for me seeing your layout and it's fantastic! I love a big yard and Eugene fits the bill. Thanks for sharing! Oh, and I got to be "Like" number 1k. LOL
Great job, this format is how a layout tour should be done! Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Very, very nice. I remember you intermodal days. This is such a great improvement.
😮 Wow 😮 that is one hell of a layout and so well done. I don't see anything wrong with the background I like it. 👍👏👍👏👍
Thanks for sharing. I love your layout. Keep the videos coming. Looking forward to see Sharon projects. Merry Christmas from the Sanders.
I like your layout it scratches my itch for ho train layouts thanks for the videos
Thanks for the general tour, Rob. It has come a long way since I started watching, which was about the time you started transitioning to the new era.
I agree with your sentiment on multi deck layouts. This is awesome and looks beautiful but looks like tons of fun to operate.
What a terrific walkthrough. Beautiful work on your scenery. Thanks for taking the time to do this
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR SO LONG. The work you've done on Lake City looks amazing!!! Keep up the great work boss.

Excellent job I think you're layout is one of the best home layouts in the US modelers on UA-cam keep up the great work
Very nice. I think the mix of scenery/buildings is perfect. Doesn't look crowded. Also a fan of single deck once around. Beautiful layout
Absolutely a beautiful layout great work.
Great layout, love the shot at 27:40
Love the layout. Great work, don't be to critical on yourself, it looks really good.

Great Tour - Beautiful Layout and a great host. You are a master model builder - Thanks
Have been watching these videos since the start of the layout and they are always great - thanks for sharing!
I have been watching since you started with an empty room and some boards on the floor. Very nice job well done.

Great job. Have enjoyed watching your railroad progress over the years. . It’s beautiful. Merry Christmas.

Very Nice , quite jealous … waiting to start my next empire … thanks for the inspiration!
like your layout and the changes you made for the modified staging yard

Well done! Thanks and Merry Christmas to everyone.
BOB, all I have to say is HOORAY you found the camera. RW

Hey, I think the backdrop is beautiful.. no complaints from me. :D
Thanks.. enjoyed revisiting a lot of those scenes. You really undersell your talents you know !
You are definitely a master at modeling.
You have a nice layout outstanding
First time for me seeing your layout and it's fantastic! I love a big yard and Eugene fits the bill. Thanks for sharing! Oh, and I got to be "Like" number 1k. LOL
A wonderful layout! Great Job!
