Btw R1 and R2 are two different throws. -R1 is the light throw which is faster, can trip enemies (aim at legs and it can knock them down or launch them in air), and is good for runes/puzzles that are time based. -R2 is the heavy throw which can freeze smaller enemies, does more damage, and can be thrown at a greater distance, but you have to angle it higher (good for runes that are far away).

Kratos is a Spartan and spartan men had little to do with raising children. They lived in the barracks with their unit and merely visited until they retired. Though he deeply loved his wife and daughter before their death he was often away at war. Male children went to the Agoge to be trained at 6 until they graduated and joined the army. It's a video game - *all* the cutscenes are CGI since they're not FMV. What you're trying to say is that most if not all of cutscenes are rendered in real time. There are a few obvious places where there use the "quick camera movement" or "blinding effect" trick to simulate a one-shot when it really isn't. But then, the definition of a one-shot gets blurred when there isn't actually a physical camera shooting.
@@MANxMACHINE yes I know, usually when someone says no CGI they just mean not fully CGI, it's in recent times that people started to get very technical about it and directors like Christopher Nolan definitely are getting the most of those comments. All triple A games are completely made with CGI cutscenes and all animation outside of cutscenes, they animate somewhere else, except it's wrong to say it's completely made with CGI so that's why people are still not used to calling animations that don't fully use CGI, CGI (if you were born and have seen games before when they will use full CGI, you will understand why people consider those CGI and not the recent in engine ones, it's a very big difference)
Kratos is a general and he often treats his son as if he's a soldier under his command - that is his notion of discipline. Not saying he's right, he could definitely show a bit of compassion toward his son, but just saying that it makes sense seeing where Kratos came from, he think he's raising him the right way.
Fun fact! The mark that the witch puts on Kratos and Atreus is known in old Norse cultures as the Vegvisir, or 'Wayfinder's Mark', or sometimes the Nordic Compass. It's a stave (a written spell) whose magical function was ensuring safe journies and returns. You can see in its structure the crossing of four lines... which is to say, eight realms meeting in Midgard. Travelers would carry objects with the Vegvisir while away from home as good luck charms to ensure their journey didn't end in disaster.
This episode was nice! . She's learning to more. Break everything vases or anything wooden you see. You don't need your axe to break everything or beat up enemies or break wooden doors with your axe. Your fists are just as lethal. Constantly pressing the attack button without holding it for over one second will be faster and better in combat especially close up hand to hand combat. The more aggressive you are in battle the better and keep your guard up,it's very important.✨️👍
awesome episode! awesome Eralia playing GOW 😊😊😊😊 one thing, during the spartan rage you cannot only jump towards the enemy like King Kong, depends on what button you tap L1 L2 R1 R2 Kratos will do different things
There’s a R1 button on the controller. It’s located just under the R2 trigger. If you look at it there’s an indention carved into the button itself that says R1 or you can pull out the instruction manual for the PS5 controller. There’s a picture of the controller in there with an arrow pointing to where the R1 button is located. The R1 button is for light attacks which are quicker but do less damage. The R2 button is for heavy attacks which are slower but deal more damage. This is the same for throwing. The R1 button throws the axe faster with one hand. The R2 button throws the axe slower with both hands. For hand to hand combat the R1 button lays out a sequence of quick punches. The R2 button does a heavy kick.
The boss battle at the end. You got better and better. The only thing you didn't do was your rage. You did better at rapidly tapping the light attack to throw hands, that was good. Another banger,I love it. . . . I just decided to watch it from the office and I'm glad I did. 👏
"no cutscenes" yup.. well, there are cutscenes, but no scenes are cut. the game's played in a way that feels like it was all shot in a single take, from a 3rd-person view, behind Kratos. (except in certain cutscenes where they pan out and show other angles) it was deliberately made this way. very cool stuff, imo.
This is gonna be one of those games that’s gonna force you to learn the combat system and adapt to different enemies. Like to see Eralia grow her gaming skeeeelzzzz.
A good game to then take these skills to is Souls games, especially Elden Ring - IDK if she'd be into a game like that (there's story, but it's not very upfront with it), but the combat of that game is very much try to fight an enemy > die many times while learning the pattern of their attacks > eventually beat the boss and bask in your achievement for a bit.
One of the best game franchises I've ever played .. huge fan of God of war .. I found this game way back in my PlayStation 3 days .. so awesome . I'm glad you are enjoying it too . I'm enjoying watching you discover it 👍🤘🔥
So excited to see another episode, can’t wait to watch, hopefully I don’t watch it all in one go and I can save some to enjoy later, but I ended up watching your first episode all the way through! However I need to break it up because work and life and all that, but it’s bloody difficult to do with your playthoughs!
I love this. Found this channel yesterday. Tips for the game: CRAFT ARMOR AND DO SIDE QUESTS. You'll get more enchantments and your stats will increase. Sometimes the armor you find in the world won't really help in this game. However it isn't the same for enchantments. The enchantments you find will be better if you loot rather than craft. Personally, I went for crafting shoulder pauldron armors since they utilized more strength for base attacks. AND EXPLORE EXPLORE EXPLORE. You will fight harder enemies and the set up you have wont get you too far as you progress through the story and keep doing side quests. Mix match light and heavy attacks. Dont just use your R2 attacks/heavy base attacks. R1 attacks/light base attacks are just as useful. Just because its a heavy doesnt mean its powerful. Utilizing combos and both your runic attacks will deal massive damage and can turn the tide of any battle in that game. Relics are also useful and IF USED CORRECTLY can help you and support you in story and side quests as well as the bosses you'll face in the game. This game is a lot of fun and I really hope my tips and anyone else that gives you tips and hints to help you makes this game easy and overall fun for you. This game is such a gem and I'm happy you're playing it for the first time.
It's really refreshing to see someone new playing this game and entering the realm of God of War. I platinumed both this game and its sequel. When I first played it felt really intimidating because it felt overwhelming and A CERTAIN 9 set of enemies stressed me out. I was new to the world as well but its now one of my favorite games of all time to play. It's nice seeing someone new and their blind reactions refreshing to this story.
Great text, I also wanted to explain these things to her. but one thing I don't agree with is the armor you find being weaker, not really. The game has a problem with the game designer that when you upgrade an armor it will appear stronger than another, for example: a green armor at lvl 3 will appear stronger or equal to a blue armor lvl1, and also if this green armor has sockets of stone will seem much stronger, so you have to unclip all the stones and compare the armor level, I only discovered this towards the end of the game. And there's some armor that she left at the Thor statue that she destroyed that is very good at the beginning of the game.
the game was made to seem seamless so you were never stuck in loading screens. they fudged it a bit when you use the world tree to travel as it takes a few seconds for a doorway to open but that will be the closest you get to "loading" throughout the game!
Yall ain’t tell her she’s supposed to be destroying odins ravens 🐦⬛ 😂. I actually do like that she plays these games blindly. Because this is my first gow game I played too. It was so good I had to watch all previous ones. One thing that helped me was switching the roll to ⭕️ and the jump to x
Love this game so much . Can't wait to see you experience this journey . Also when stories are told on the boat , don't dock or the flow of the lore will be missed .
What might help you in combat is you DO have a light attack that you can use with the Axe and the Spartan Rage. Use R1 instead of R2 when you are up close. You can do a fast swinging combo and stun lock enemies. Spamming the slow wind up heavy attack all the time is definitely what is getting you killed. Figured that would help.
GoW 2018 is basically linear, but it has a number of optional areas that are good for getting XP and loot. Most of those are accessed from the lake. And yeah, the ENTIRE game is one long camera shot. There are no cuts anywhere.
I've seen a lot of playthroughs of this game and the amount of Let's Players that immediately want Kratos and the Witch to get together is unbelievable. I'm like "His wife just died. We're on a journey to complete her final wish. Her ashes are in a bag on Kratos's hip. Why do we want Kratos to have a relationship right now?!" So, thank you for not doing that.
"God of War - Original Saga Story Summary" It's a 20 min. version. If you like to know what's behind Kratos. Really deep. (but of course we also like to see you reaction for this.) Cheers!
Incorrect, If I said she should do this and go there, that is backseating. If i point out somthing she can do but isnt aware, thats being helpful. But this is the internet and ppl have their own opinions so ....imao as well.@@hydrarl3869
So glad I’ve found another great play through to watch of one of if not, the greatest game I’ve ever played 👌your hilairious ! Can’t wait to see the rest of your gameplay !
"I know there's a main quest, whatever it is"...something about taking some dead woman's ashes to the top of a mountain, I think. 😉 Basically the entire game is just side quests distracting or blocking you from your main task. Funny enough I think it's faster to brute force a 2x4 combination lock than to look around for the correct runes.
YOu can explore all you want. If you are not supposed to be somewhere you will find blocked path or locked doors. Very hard enemies can indicate you should try an area later but you can still go for it if you like the challenge.
You're literally the best! I'm gutted that you have deployment. I wish nothing but the absolute best for you! Please be safe and COME BACK!! We need you! Seriously, Eralia.... You are an inspiration. I adore that smile of yours. You just don't even know how much you are loved. I'll/We'll stick by your side, any time. Any day. Every way. You're the GOAT!!! PS. Throw your axe at the ravens 😂 PSS. Keep singing. You're really good!
1:15:01 Something to look forward to, when/if you go back to the classic games…This story is a condensed, fable-ish version of Kratos’ own story from God of War 1. When Atreus said “Hope it was worth it”, and Kratos said “It was not”…first hand experience. Brilliant way to introduce it and kind of tell Atreus his story without going into the…dirty details.
"I was doing so well for someone who was dying" i dont know why but that made me laugh, and related so well with games like dark souls. Also a small reminder, remember you got runic attacks and a talisman. Might have helped just a little with that troll fight :P
I dunno why but some masochistic part of me thought it was good idea to play in give me god of war on my first playthrough. It took me like 2 hours get past the first drugr encounter. Boi, I did learn the concept of patience with this one.
truly glad you playing this game. its one of a kind. good game with a more amazing person. always bring out the smile and makes the day. hope you keep playing the game to the end. just little tip. i know you dont like them. but get used to parry with your shield.
Also when you meet the World Serpent Kratos says "Stay Calm Boy" Atreus says "I am this is great!" then the World Serpent says "I Know You, Ghost Of Sparta" Kratos says "It speaks!?" Atreus says "Yeah! Mom says he's friendly!" Kratos says "What is it saying!" Atreus says "I don't know" then the World Serpent says "Find Mimir, He Will Help You"
Whew that was fun. I think this might have been the first time I caught you live(ish) and I'm glad I did. The R2 Gang may definitely have to be a thing, future merch perhaps? Yeah I had otherwise missed you on Twitch when you were still streaming on there but it's where I had first heard of you. I can't even remember if it was off of a raid but a streamer that I follow had mentioned your channel, Anna Demetriou if the name sounds familiar. I saw a VOD of a brief run of Baldur's Gate 3 and followed shortly after. I've loved the content and that you don't take yourself too seriously when playing. Well anyway, I'm gonna grab some lunch and enjoy the day off from work. Hopefully work goes well for you. And thank you for the new video today. GG
I'm thoroughly enjoying this play through. Most people just do the main story and skip the collections and side quest. Also rage mode has life steal and more attacks other than the jump.
Another fun episode for an epic game! But commenters: be mindful to not given away details of the story, spoilers, future unlocks, game mechanics she hasn’t seen yet, etc. It’s a BLIND play through, and that’s how she likes to experience the games. Let her figure stuff out and don’t give away anything, no matter how small you may try to justify it being.
Yeah probably best for the blind play through UA-camrs not to read too many comments because people just do not understand the concept of no spoilers or backseat gaming
@@AJsWorld true, but Eralia does like to engage and interact with her viewers. She also literally said it at the beginning of the playthrough, as she does with all of her games, that she doesn’t want spoilers, etc
You should use your runic attacks more often especially when fighting big enemies like the fire troll thing. Use them right at the beginning of the fight and it'll build back up and you might be able to use it a second time before the fight is over. Makes the fights way easier
Try not spamming r2 and try using your r1 especially when throwing the axe and in rage mode r2 uses up the rage faster even when fighting enemies using r1 is faster and doesn't leave you open like swinging with r2
@@zombiejedimasterhe kinda right tho 😭cuz if someone makes a habit of using r2 already, the game won’t help them later on becuz the tutorial would be over and so they’re stuck with r2 without knowing r1 is a thing
It's a request. PLEASE!! After finishing God of War , can you play PLAGUE TALE SERIES. Both PLAGUE TALE INNOCENCE and PLAGUE TALE REQUIEM. They are both story rich and worthy . I would highly recommend it. They have really received great achievements in GAME AWARDS too ❤
If I can offer one tiny tip - you are using heavy attacks almost exclusively - they're kind of situational (especially if you don't upgrade them so they chain into longer combos) and the damage they do vs the speed with witch they attack is not worth it. You want to use heavy attacks if you know that you will get one, maybe 2 hits in and that's it (or if it's a light enemy that you can juggle/stun lock with heavy attacks), otherwise you wanna use the R1 (RB) button to do the regular attacks - in longer, drawn out fights, they will do more damage. This is especially true when fighting bare-handed - heavy attacks bare-handed just make Kratos kick, which doesn't do much damage and serves more as an attack designed to "push" enemies away from you, so bare-handed you want to punch them with regular attacks and chain into longer combos, this will not only damage them more but also make the stun meter increase much faster so you can R3 grapple them. If nothing else, just remember that you have a light attack button and it sometimes pays to use it :)
HEARTHSTONE? WORK WORK? WARCRAFT REFERENCES? I must know more! lol. Joking aside I’m SUPER stoked to check out these videos from week to week - I love the blind reactions and seeing these play through for the first time.
Since you said no backseating, I'm unsure if you're ok with a small bit of advice for combat. So I'll push the message down below so you don't see it without clicking "Read more" When you go into Spartan Rage, Kratos can actually do other attacks besides the leap. Try some other buttons and see. ^^
On the part with the spikes you could have let the spikes come down after you get across and you can walk across them from the top I think. And get to the chest

The circles don't show you where to go but what you can interact with.
One of the best game franchises I've ever played .. huge fan of God of war .. I found this game way back in my PlayStation 3 days .. so awesome . I'm glad you are enjoying it too . I'm enjoying watching you discover it 👍🤘🔥
Hablas español!!! Qué genial!!! ♥ Te gustan los videojuegos y sus historias... You're awesome!!!
This game is such a gem and I'm happy you're playing it for the first time.
i’m exploring and crafting all the things! thank you and i’m so glad you’re enjoying the adventure!
Arthur Morgan - Boah!
Kratos - Boi!
You are HANDS DOWN the BEST person to watch react to new games on UA-cam. So much fun. 😍🤘
Why do we want Kratos to have a relationship right now?!"
So, thank you for not doing that.
"God of War - Original Saga Story Summary" It's a 20 min. version. If you like to know what's behind Kratos. Really deep. (but of course we also like to see you reaction for this.) Cheers!
I’m just jealous that you can jump immediately into the sequel without waiting like a lot of us had to. You’re killing it! 🤘🏻
No backseat but being informative; you can hold axe throw which charges it up before release.
Only if she’s unlocked that skill.
basically the definition of backseating lmao
Incorrect, If I said she should do this and go there, that is backseating. If i point out somthing she can do but isnt aware, thats being helpful. But this is the internet and ppl have their own opinions so ....imao as well.@@hydrarl3869
So glad I’ve found another great play through to watch of one of if not, the greatest game I’ve ever played 👌your hilairious ! Can’t wait to see the rest of your gameplay !
"I know there's a main quest, whatever it is"...something about taking some dead woman's ashes to the top of a mountain, I think. 😉
Basically the entire game is just side quests distracting or blocking you from your main task.
PS. Throw your axe at the ravens 😂
PSS. Keep singing. You're really good!
This is one game I can’t play but i will watch
“Kratos needs some advice on gentle parenting”lmao
We love kratos that way to me thats huge development 💯
I mean, I was already going to sub, but when you started singing creed, it really sealed the deal😂
Glad you're loving the game so far!
I’m glad you’re enjoying the game and story thus far.
All I want you to know is… it’s only gonna get better!
"I was doing so well for someone who was dying" i dont know why but that made me laugh, and related so well with games like dark souls. Also a small reminder, remember you got runic attacks and a talisman. Might have helped just a little with that troll fight :P
back seat gaming. BANISHED! to the shadow realm. jk
UA-cam making excellent recommendations lately.
This was the first, and only, game I've gotten a platinum trophy on since trophies were a thing. Easily the best PS exclusive game of all time.
I dunno why but some masochistic part of me thought it was good idea to play in give me god of war on my first playthrough. It took me like 2 hours get past the first drugr encounter. Boi, I did learn the concept of patience with this one.
Your cat is very…”mischievous”… 🤔😏😂 Loki is low key very fitting for a Norse based video game. He knows he belongs in the video lol.
truly glad you playing this game. its one of a kind. good game with a more amazing person. always bring out the smile and makes the day. hope you keep playing the game to the end. just little tip. i know you dont like them. but get used to parry with your shield.
You did such a great job with part 1 I can't wait for part 2 oh boy oh boy
Yes, the game doesn't cut unless you die.
GG
It helps to use the light attack combos and arrows to stun enemies.
Love the random spanish throughout
I'm loving this gameplays so far...
Can't wait for the 3rd part🤞
I follow you on Instagram and to see you on your stories saying you are really enjoying God of War is awesome! Yeah it’s a phenomenal game.
Looking great as always 🤌😊
Try not spamming r2 and try using your r1 especially when throwing the axe and in rage mode r2 uses up the rage faster even when fighting enemies using r1 is faster and doesn't leave you open like swinging with r2
Try not to be a backseat gamer.
@@zombiejedimasterhe kinda right tho 😭cuz if someone makes a habit of using r2 already, the game won’t help them later on becuz the tutorial would be over and so they’re stuck with r2 without knowing r1 is a thing
“Fine Lamb Crest….”
Deleted Scene .
“ I’m the f*cking God of War 😡”
IYKYK 🤣💀 lol
It's a request. PLEASE!! After finishing God of War , can you play PLAGUE TALE SERIES. Both PLAGUE TALE INNOCENCE and PLAGUE TALE REQUIEM. They are both story rich and worthy . I would highly recommend it. They have really received great achievements in GAME AWARDS too ❤
i’ve played them! good games :))
watching you play has been a delightKeep posting these , i am further in the game i don´t do looting and sides tho
My thoughts exactly. The "Work-work" line is from the peons in Warcraft 3. What the heck? She's too young to know this.
i played warcraft 3 growing up with my dad ☺️
@@eralia holy cow, you're my new favorite UA-camr :p
still mad they got rid of the 41:50 line "Lamb's crest...I'm a f$$king god of war"
Since you said no backseating, I'm unsure if you're ok with a small bit of advice for combat. So I'll push the message down below so you don't see it without clicking "Read more"
When you go into Spartan Rage, Kratos can actually do other attacks besides the leap. Try some other buttons and see. ^^
this was helpful and not too much. thank you 😅😂
This game literally blew my mind. The first fight was hardcore AS F.
On the part with the spikes you could have let the spikes come down after you get across and you can walk across them from the top I think. And get to the chest
THROW THE AXE AT THE RAVENS!!!! lol
Randomly found the channel...and 1 the beauty of you is a definite capture. 2 the style of play is your own, 3 the classic game is a definite banger...I'm invested in you Queen...
If you think that was chalenging, wait until you meet the valkyries ! Don't give up, just keep improving girl 💪👍
I'm enjoying your blind run with this! i played it when it was released and is still one of the best! You're going to love EVERYTHING as the story unfolds, and I totally hope you eventually play Ragnarok. SUBBED!!!
Second time around on part 2 and I think you said Fan drool.. fabulous.
I love ur reactions to these type of games..... ur amazing..... I appreciate you❤
Don't forget to buy different armor pieces because they grant you more strenght and power so that it would be easier to attack enemies.
The brutality of Kratos, just like in the og games.. classic 👌
Randomly find your channel in my home page and I like it ❤
Just ran into your channel here. Really enjoying your play through and little loki. :)
I remember when I first played The last of Us I love that game..
This is going to be a great playthrough today thanks Eralia.🤠👍🖤🖤
44:07 Not a spoiler, but in the next game it’s revealed that Kratos’ strength is natural, whereas his muscles are for aesthetics only 😂
Hey eralia really enjoying your walkthrough please after completing this play GOW Ragnarok the next part of this game . Also i am sure people will like watching you play life is strange 1, 2 and true colours.
Loving your playthrough, your commentary is very entertaining.
My only suggestion is that we need to hear more singing. You have a great voice!
No one likes back seat gaming...but did no one tell her DODGING and the SHIELD were a thing?!?!
When using your fists you can sprint and then press R2 to do a shield bash. It'll send the enemies flying. Sprinting and pressing R1 knocks them down
I’ve been watching your videos since The Last of Us Part 1. Keep up the great work. Really wished you would’ve watch a video before playing but this way is good too
Now I have to wait for days for another episode 😢
