I should definitely try quaver too. Also don't beat yourself too much if you get a worse score then before. Some days will just be like that. I always try to work on my accuracy when that happens. Maybe FC some slightly easier songs. Update 3 months later since there has been no part 4 yet. I'm slightly above the skill level of Tokaku in this video. I S ranked the same diff of Maniera and Enigma (w/ halftime) she played in the video. My LN's are still lacking. I have also surpassed my 4 key skills in 7 key. Unrelated I'm now able to S rank anything below 3 stars in 10 key. Update again 5/15/22: Just cleared regular Dan 1 today, but I still need to get way better at LNs, can't pass LN Dan 1 for the life of me. My training has consisted of DT on easier maps, full bracket, HT on hard maps, and just playing songs around my skill level. I need to train my LNs really badly by using Osu Lazer or soundsphere to convert maps to full LN, and then just play a bunch of LN maps. Update again on 6/26/22, I completed LN Dan 2 before beating regular Dan 2. I also completed my first 6 star and have been pretty stuck at around the 4.8 star wall. I'm thinking about hard practicing accuracy on quaver. I get around a 2.0 ratio on rice but I want to try and improve that to around a 3.0 or 4.0 after a week or 2. Maybe I'll train LN accuracy on there too. Oh yeah and I've passed the 3 star wall in 10 key :) Update as of 9/15/22 I've been acc training since the last update but have been stuck at the Dan 3 wall. Main reason I haven't improved too much is because I'm not straining myself enough. I should aim for 94% for improvement and S rank them later. My brain doesn't want to accept A ranks but it's probably one of the better ways to improve. Strain, then iron out the accuracy later. It seems crazy for me to call 7k is physically demanding but that's how it feels at 5 stars. I feel confident I can maybe pass 7k regular Dan 3 if I spent a week with 7k. But I'm going to wait til my improvement plateaus in 10k. Update 10/5/23: Both of my BMS controllers have arrived and I'm now on the 14k2S BMS grind on Beatoraja. I've gotten to DP Normal dan 4. But close to DP normal dan 5. Even smaller playerbase but it's been really fun to see myself improve.

You are filled with energy and joy !! Glad to see people are still playing 7k and the community is growing slowly but surely :) Keep up with the great content and its fun to watch you providing commentary for the many variety of rhythm games Local Boomer on 7k peace out ~
you seem a bit more energetic and happy and thats awesome to see. and yes the improvement in quality is noticable and very much appreciated. also dont feel bad doing a fnf video from time to time if the ad revenue is really profitable. who cares if its following a trend or whatever. just make that bread.
osumania charts generally suck also, that’s a huge part of this. any good 7k chart is gonna be designed around the IIDX button layout because that’s literally what it is also it’s worth noting that even top level iidx/bms players don’t *consistently* full combo high level songs, like the idea that you will miss notes is kind of built into the game (which is also why the only scoring measure that matters is the EX score which is the total perfects/flashing perfects you get, ignoring combo entirely). to be honest i grew a lot faster in iidx when i just gave up on comboing and focusing entirely on just passing songs that were “above” my level, then you can go back and easily FC easier songs.
I remember when many years ago (literally in the 2000s), the stepmania community would ask chart creators to create chars with their favorite songs, it was obvious that with 4k (or rather with 4 arrows) it was easier, but even if the song was harder to play, they would create the charts in a stricter way and that would stick to the song (it was literally quite noticeable in harder charts and made the song more entertaining and if it's still hard, it felt like a good challenge). Now seeing how it is 7k in Osumania, I notice a lot how they make charts without any enthusiasm (in the sense that they really make charts following the song?) because you literally just press buttons many times every second but without following the rhythm of the song (which I hate), and take into account that in pop n music (I have played it a lot and I notice it a lot), being 9k, even if the chart has a very high difficulty, it is noticeable that they respect how each song sounds and make a good challenging chart (and not just press a bunch of buttons every second). Anyway, I guess it will be a bit late to answer this knowing when they uploaded the video but in itself, I would like to see more charts in osumania that you can see that they follow the rhythm of the song and not so much -insert press a huge amount of buttons in 3 seconds-
Fellow popn player B) That 'difficulty for the sake of it' charting is so common in mania. It's been one of the main things discouraging me from playing 4k, since eventually charts just become bpm chord hell
Around the same time you started doing these 7key videos i got a faucetwo and started trying to get into sdvx. It was the first time i really had to learn a new rhythm game outside of guitar hero since 4key is kinda... basic. And improving in that game while watching you improve in this is such an interesting experience. it's so nice to see how universal the reaction to something as simple as upscoring on a map you've been struggling with can be. i started off barely able to play 12s and 13s on sdvx and now i can play most 16s, and even though they are two different games its so neat being able to watch someone else progress in something while you yourself are also trying to improve. These videos are what helped motivate me to keep trying! So thanks for being part of the driving force that helped me push through and improve, and i hope you keep seeing the growth you want to see with this game :)
I finished Asobi Asobase, and I had the best laughter ever. I cried on every single episode. I love how misleading the opening is, it makes it hilarious. Thank you so much for recommending the anime, I really appreciate it. :)
7K has an extremely rough starting point, in osu that's until like 4.5 stars (if we assume that stars are anyhow accurate) but then it just becomes the most satisfying thing ever. So long as I keep even a little bit of improvement it's much more satisfying than 4k.
sorry for my bad english, i want to ask, what you used for space key ,left thumb / right thumb / both ? . i used left thumb but i worried hard to hit some patterns
@@gathan6490 I am right handed, and I use my right thumb only for space. Using both thumbs is best, but it can be hard to learn. Using left thumb has disadvantages in some charts because most players use right thumb, but it's only a small difference.
@@Bobbias if u mind, should i switch to both or stay in left thumb. i know it will take some practice again to have muscle memory , but if it make easier some pattern I surely switch.
@@gathan6490 if you really want to, learning to use both would be the best choice. But even many top players do not use both. Just use whatever feels comfortable.
I recently found this journey of yours in 7k and it makes me wanna start 7k as well, Ive been strictly 4k ever since 2 stars and can now barely make 4 stars in 4k. 7k is gonna be hard but these videos inspire me for sure to keep trying.
Congrats on your improvement and thanks for these videos! I'm glad to see that this is influencing people to start learning 7k. It's hard to find maps at the start (I really recommend playing bms or o2jam converts), but 7k becomes really fun once you've mastered the basic patterns.
A super important tip when starting new keymodes or just mania in general is to focus on your MA ratio. I myself did not do this while starting out and it led to bad accuracy habits. If you focus more on MA than PA, eventually you'll get to the point where even if you make a serious mistake on accuracy while playing something, your MA will fix it for you.
Agreed. I actually had pretty awful acc when I started, and I never really bothered to do anything about it until I started realizing I was hitting all the notes and still only getting an A because my acc was so bad. I went back and focused on it for a while, and it turned most of my A's directly into S's and even allowed me to skate by on maps I honestly had no business clearing lol
Fun video to watch! I like the idea of the greenscreen jump interrupts cause it adds more personality and a different perspective, or extra pizzazz lol, compared to how your typical videos are seen. I kind of want to practice 7k cause overall it looks like something that'd be fun to do and a big flex lol. It's nice seeing that you are making progress on 7k! Good luck on further honing your skills!
My one pet peeve is the fact that osu mania beatmap makers make it ridiculously difficult as the star rating goes up. It's definitely not noob friendly and it makes it harder to get better (at least in my experience)
I mean the star rating is automatically calculated, so the mappers don’t intentionally make the maps harder then what the star rating says. Blame osu’s star system :P
Some things I'm gonna point out if you ever play more Quaver: 1. You can import BMS, osu, and etterna maps into Quaver, and you can auto import osu and Etterna maps + collections (Options -> Misc -> Load Songs From Other Games) 2. SV charts are crazy in Quaver, you can do negative SVs and stuff, that Vitality chart is a good example 3. You can press Ctrl + 0 to toggle the pitch changing 4. You can play in the song preview window (View Map button) if you press Tab Also yeah Quaver community is pretty small especially for 7k, think new players are automatically 200k and most people play 4k lol
I actually enjoy playing 7k, it's just fun to move most of your fingers to hit the notes when you get used to it, I enjoy the feeling of accomplishment after beating a level I spend days on. The time I started playing rhythm game is when fnf came witthy mod came out, and when shaggy v2 came out, I thought why not practice 7k if I'm not going to be anywhere near to be a pro in 4k? So I started playing osu!maina 7k, and... it didn't last long mainly because I don't know how to get maps, it was until three months earlier I continued playing. Now, I usually play somewhere from 4* to 5* and get a A or B (except for some fake difficulties), sometimes if I like a song I will try to get an S. And that's the story why no one plays with me on Funky Friday anymore.
This is how I personally make 7k fun: Step 1: Try to play 7k Step 2: Fail miserably Step 3: Just move to 6k because hitting the spacebar to hit a note is the most bullshit thing ever Even number keys rule
Do what makes you feel happy, if that thing is videos on progress with 7k, then do it. I think I can speak for most of your viewers when I say, we enjoy whatever you post.
You have to try CTB, it's the best. Also, CTB is one of those "hard to learn, hard to master", but ironically it's also the most relaxing compared to other modes, even on 5*. It's satisfying, idk why. There's something elegant about playing CTB.
On the same journey as you right now. Im looking to transfer to primarily a 7k player. I just had my first huge break in skill and am getting comfy with low 4*. Best of luck to you!
I’m actually trying to improve at 7k too (currently able to play 3*s too) it’s kinda cool to be able to watch people play and showcase 7k at a difficulty I’m struggling at rn lol
> Not enough maps for 7k amen, but luckily Coro's got our back ! ! ! :D :D :D Look for him on osu, he's got a discord server you can ask about 7k stuff And he's been hoarding thousands of both ranked and unranked files (with or without o2jam/bms/canmusic converts) Godspeed TKK !
i have a friend who's ranked #11 in turkey in osu mania and him and i have been trying to learn 7k together. damn i agree with you when you say that 7k is not fun.
Some tips for 7K, I've been playing since February 2016 and am around 9th/10th regular insane dan, probably 10th LN dan during my noodle peak. For non-7k/osu players, I can pass some 8* maps, get As on some 7-7.5* 7K maps, S on high 6* maps, 97+ on some 6* and most 5* maps. For BMS players, I could feasibly HC (hard clear) a lv.23/24 if I had scratch experience, which I don't. Barely floating above top 1000 on osu!mania currently (but I am perma-mind blocked on ranked and am primarily a BMS player now, something that doesn't translate to osu ranked maps at all) (yes, I'm coping, but fuck you 1v1 me bms charts) 7K is an incredibly hard journey and there will be periods of months where you play, see that you were shittier than your score from multiple years ago, and cry. But the peaks during skill boost days are absolute euphoria and literally the peak of gaming for me across my entire life (as a supreme gamer addict). I have had 5+ hour long peaking sessions where I feel like I am flying, completely exiting the mortal realm, basically a drug, all while vibing to the amazing selection of tracks that 7K provides at the highest level. AS FOR MY MAIN ADVICE: I recommend downloading the main BMS converts (Davteezy, etc..) and playing them religiously, master your double stairs, canmusic converts if you can find them and want to experience some of the most hilarious and amazing patterning you will ever see from an early 2000s korean 7k game, o2jam converts if you want a ton of fucked up LN maps in your osu with no preview noise, and if you want to down-rate some super hard stuff, the stella BMS converts and various overjoy collections. I have over ~11,000 7K maps downloaded, trust me there is a massive amount out there, you just need to search them out. I'd recommend joining a 7k discord server and browsing & CTRL+F'ing for some links :) ALSO, use osusearch.com with the right settings (set a minimum duration to filter out unfinished maps, mode mania, CS 7), then just download till you are tired of it lol. There is a lot of stuff out there, an overwhelming amount tbh. You can get these all imported into osu first, then have Quaver auto import your osu maps so you have access on both platforms as well. I played quaver for a long time but stopped because of an annoying problem where the notes disappear really high up in the playfield when you hit them early, so I swapped back to osu!mania. I think it was for the better, the engine promotes a better play style in my opinion for other reasons as well. However, the primary reason was my desire to focus on rice again after nearly a year of long note training. For LN training, Quaver is 100% the best platform with the FLN and INV mods. Here are some Quaver filters for LN training you can try if you want to torture yourself: Good for FLN (inverse training): keys=7 l>55 l
there is an osu!standard remake on roblox called osu!RoVeR and it’s actually pretty good but you have to enable sliders in the settings and it doesn’t save.
Seeing her play 7k with a performance rating of 11 while I can barely beat any 4k chart with a 10 performance rating really gives me an idea of how not-skilled I am.

Please continue this series it was something that I genuinely enjoy and like to see you play don't let it die
you encouraged me to try playing 7k again and it's being really really fun. i tried a year ago but after a week i gave up, and this series made me want to play again. at first i hated using my thumb and that wall you talked about, but i found a circles skin and made it a lot easier to read, so now i can play like 3.5 comfortably.
thank you tkk, very cool
i really enjoy seeing you as a person grow, seeing your improvement and seeing you happy just fills me with joy. so id prefer a more relaxed vlog style series, maybe with a more edited and produced "recap" video where you go over the technicalities of your progress over the past couple of videos. i think thats a nice balance
I agree on the progression point. As a newer rhythm gamer, figuring out the nuance of progressing your skills isn’t trivial.
You are filled with energy and joy !!
Glad to see people are still playing 7k and the community is growing slowly but surely :)
Keep up with the great content and its fun to watch you providing commentary for the many variety of rhythm games
Local Boomer on 7k peace out ~
it's finally time
thanks for continuing the series
you seem a bit more energetic and happy and thats awesome to see. and yes the improvement in quality is noticable and very much appreciated. also dont feel bad doing a fnf video from time to time if the ad revenue is really profitable. who cares if its following a trend or whatever. just make that bread.
This is the first i've ever heard of Quaver, i think i'll give it a shot.
osumania charts generally suck also, that’s a huge part of this. any good 7k chart is gonna be designed around the IIDX button layout because that’s literally what it is
also it’s worth noting that even top level iidx/bms players don’t *consistently* full combo high level songs, like the idea that you will miss notes is kind of built into the game (which is also why the only scoring measure that matters is the EX score which is the total perfects/flashing perfects you get, ignoring combo entirely). to be honest i grew a lot faster in iidx when i just gave up on comboing and focusing entirely on just passing songs that were “above” my level, then you can go back and easily FC easier songs.
i'm in this journey too! thanks for the quaver tip.
highly recommend downloading coro's 7k megapacks, ~15gb of 7k combined with a wide range of difficulties
i can confirm
Does this help with walls? Also can you swnd a link if posible
Anyway, I guess it will be a bit late to answer this knowing when they uploaded the video but in itself, I would like to see more charts in osumania that you can see that they follow the rhythm of the song and not so much -insert press a huge amount of buttons in 3 seconds-
Fellow popn player B)
That 'difficulty for the sake of it' charting is so common in mania. It's been one of the main things discouraging me from playing 4k, since eventually charts just become bpm chord hell
as a rythm begginer (21 hours across every rythm game ive played) i really love watching your osu videos, seeing you play quaver is quite interesting
Love the new video format!
love this up in quality 🥰
After seeing this video, my mind ascended, now my eyes see everything as stairs, our life is stairs, stairs supremacy
7K has an extremely rough starting point, in osu that's until like 4.5 stars (if we assume that stars are anyhow accurate) but then it just becomes the most satisfying thing ever. So long as I keep even a little bit of improvement it's much more satisfying than 4k.
Agreed. 4.5 stars is roughly where I tell people it gets interesting too.
sorry for my bad english, i want to ask, what you used for space key ,left thumb / right thumb / both ? . i used left thumb but i worried hard to hit some patterns
Hang in there, once you start building fundamental things in 7k, 7k becomes actually really fun imo
Congrats on your improvement and thanks for these videos! I'm glad to see that this is influencing people to start learning 7k. It's hard to find maps at the start (I really recommend playing bms or o2jam converts), but 7k becomes really fun once you've mastered the basic patterns.
When I heard the star system is broken I immediately thought of 4.18 empress of screams
very happy you made another one of these
A super important tip when starting new keymodes or just mania in general is to focus on your MA ratio.
Good luck on further honing your skills!
that class was so funny, really good video
tokaku upload on a rainy day? hell yeah
I always find myself hitting early in 7k. Certain skins seem to help keep it under control.
I've been trying to learn 7k on osu and its way harder than I thought mainly because having a middle key always messed me up
It definitely takes time to get used to reading 7k, but it's super satisfying when you finally get comfortable with it.
that intro was *mwah* (chef's kiss) perfect
about the lack of o!m 7k maps the 7k osu mania server (unranked 7k archive) has tons of several gb megapacks to play
4:20 new series: tolaku leans SV
quaver sv are brutal
honestly, we'll probably be around no matter what you do. You are fun.
Mhh i don’t get your point, hard maps are not made for begginers in every game anyway and there is a lot of easy maps on mania
Some things I'm gonna point out if you ever play more Quaver:
1. You can import BMS, osu, and etterna maps into Quaver, and you can auto import osu and Etterna maps + collections (Options -> Misc -> Load Songs From Other Games)
2. SV charts are crazy in Quaver, you can do negative SVs and stuff, that Vitality chart is a good example
3. You can press Ctrl + 0 to toggle the pitch changing
4. You can play in the song preview window (View Map button) if you press Tab
Also yeah Quaver community is pretty small especially for 7k, think new players are automatically 200k and most people play 4k lol
My 4k brain playing 7k: spacebar? Never heard of it.
Not many people like 7k, but I remember the days of O2Jam, and those were fun.
Tokaku: no i don't need headphones for rythm game
quavers awesome, my main vsrg game
YOOOO QUAVER TIME LETS GO
As a long time 7k player, yes, i would like to see you -suffer- progress on 7k
7k is hard, but it deserve more love
Keep it up :D
Great videos i dont care if the content is changing, theyre fun
you do whatever you want jolene because you are always poggers
This is how I personally make 7k fun:
Step 1: Try to play 7k
Step 2: Fail miserably
Step 3: Just move to 6k because hitting the spacebar to hit a note is the most bullshit thing ever
Even number keys rule
"hitting the spacebar to hit is the most bullshit" nod aggressively
Do what makes you feel happy, if that thing is videos on progress with 7k, then do it. I think I can speak for most of your viewers when I say, we enjoy whatever you post.
oi tokaku quaver player here, quaver can convert osu/etterna beatmaps in the settings

now we know what tokaku looks like when she was in school but just a lil bit older
8:20 thats a lot of caffeine
You have to try CTB, it's the best. Also, CTB is one of those "hard to learn, hard to master", but ironically it's also the most relaxing compared to other modes, even on 5*. It's satisfying, idk why. There's something elegant about playing CTB.
Watching this video gave me anxiety, but the iquinix with gat black inks really sounds good!
Wow, Tokaku just did a Professor Lando for a second there
LES GOOO NEW 7K EPISODE!!
you can import osu! mania charts into quaver if you just perfer playing quaver or like the advantages of it, so just keep that in mind!
Surprisingly, learned 7k has helped me improve in almost every rhythm game, the finger strength and control helps way more than you'd think.
I will remember this class, thank you
7k best gamemode and test of skill of all modes
my own 7k adventure has been interesting, i can reliably pass 2*s with a B and a single 3* B in one day but past that improvements been rough
On the same journey as you right now. Im looking to transfer to primarily a 7k player. I just had my first huge break in skill and am getting comfy with low 4*. Best of luck to you!

2:06 mom my map got into youtube
I’m actually trying to improve at 7k too (currently able to play 3*s too) it’s kinda cool to be able to watch people play and showcase 7k at a difficulty I’m struggling at rn lol

> Not enough maps for 7k
amen, but luckily Coro's got our back ! ! ! :D :D :D
Look for him on osu, he's got a discord server you can ask about 7k stuff
And he's been hoarding thousands of both ranked and unranked files (with or without o2jam/bms/canmusic converts)
Godspeed TKK !
i have a friend who's ranked #11 in turkey in osu mania and him and i have been trying to learn 7k together. damn i agree with you when you say that 7k is not fun.
this series game me enough motivation that i got my first 200pp on 7k
Some tips for 7K, I've been playing since February 2016 and am around 9th/10th regular insane dan, probably 10th LN dan during my noodle peak. For non-7k/osu players, I can pass some 8* maps, get As on some 7-7.5* 7K maps, S on high 6* maps, 97+ on some 6* and most 5* maps. For BMS players, I could feasibly HC (hard clear) a lv.23/24 if I had scratch experience, which I don't. Barely floating above top 1000 on osu!mania currently (but I am perma-mind blocked on ranked and am primarily a BMS player now, something that doesn't translate to osu ranked maps at all) (yes, I'm coping, but fuck you 1v1 me bms charts)
7K is an incredibly hard journey and there will be periods of months where you play, see that you were shittier than your score from multiple years ago, and cry.
Here are some Quaver filters for LN training you can try if you want to torture yourself:
Good for FLN (inverse training): keys=7 l>55 l

wtf i started playing in 2017 and im still at normal 11 bms/low 4* o!m
what the notes are supposed to do then? scroll even tho you already hit too early? lmfao
Been playing 7 keys for about 6 months (only on osu), can s rank most below 4.3* or something
Multiple stairs are the bane of my existence
Omg you play quaver im 4 digit in 7k and was happy you joined
idk, i just enjoy the series, im bad at rythm games and i actually like that i can watch you suffer for us and i actually just enjoy the channel xD
Can't wait for a 1vs1 against sillyfangirl
??? never happening
honestly? i think 8k would be easier than 7k
having a middle note just Fs me up
Tokaku playing Quaver 😱
there is an osu!standard remake on roblox called osu!RoVeR and it’s actually pretty good but you have to enable sliders in the settings and it doesn’t save.
Its all stairs
*Always has been*
I hope that osu has to put an option for left scroll, middle scroll, and right scroll ‘cause going to the skin.ini its such a pain
As a 4k and 7k main my biggest struggle are them damn long note and sv maps
I love how human body adapts to things like this
0:10 - 0:56 if only my class would be this damn funny!!!!!
this is a stae, everything is a stae

Thank you teacher tokaku
i'd say that's ground-breaking, but it's more like wall-breaking
Seeing her play 7k with a performance rating of 11 while I can barely beat any 4k chart with a 10 performance rating really gives me an idea of how not-skilled I am.
4:20 man I cant see anything
*Continues to hit the notes*
IT'S ALL STAIRS, WHAT'S NEXT, ALL STREAMS
6k and 7k is ez but 8k Thats hell
there are coro's 1 & 2 megapack and osu trainer to set rates
I don't care what kind of content you post, just that you're not forcing yourself to make it. Feel free to experiment when creating! I think I speak for a lot of people when I say we would so much rather you feel invested to the stuff you make rather than feel obligated to make it.
Heyo Tokaku,
Will you try out Bullets Per Minute (BPM)? Someday?
I have simulation sickness so first person shooters make me feel really sick :/ it's unlikely that I'll try, if I do, it'll be... a very painful reviewing experience...
