- Buying a large set of artist quality color pencils can feel like breaking the bank, while only having a limited number of pencils may seem like it won't be enough - but that isn't true! In this tutorial I'll quickly show you some pictures I colored with only 24 pencils, and then show you how I go about doing just that!

It’s wonderful to see an example that is not time lapse.....I love the way you blended different colors, I’m too heavy handed, I need to lighten up....I’m subscribed and love all of your videos🦋
Mairi Rose I had to adjust too! I think growing up with hard pencils like Crayola gets us into a habit of being heavy handed. Not to say that Crayola is bad by any means - just that using a more quality pencil can be a whole different beast! Thanks for the sub! 🥰
Yes finally got a set of prismacolors for my birthday and they are beautiful.......thank you for all you do to educate us 🌸
Awesome ! Lovely explanations. Would love to see more of the limited palette approach.
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it and hope it was helpful!
A fantastic video, you've opened my eyes to using colours I didn't think would blend to create highlights and shadows. Watching this first video has got me to subscribe and set my alerts, and I look forward to watching and learning more. Thank you for sharing and explaining your choices.
Techno Narg thank you! I am a student and super busy during the school year, but I hope to get a few videos between now and summer!
This video is so amazing. I always come back to this lol
I’m so glad to hear it! I hope it’s helpful!
I am so glad I found you! The cobblestone road was really beautiful! Do you suppose that you could do a tutorial video? PLEASE
I could totally do that!
This was great! These colors work so well together, It opened my eyes. Can you do a video on how to pick colors when setting up your coloring page? This is an area I get stuck sometimes. Knowing what works together for shading.🙏🏻. You need a tip jar, just sayn’ 😉
I will keep that in mind for an upcoming video! Thank you for watching my videos and for your kind words! Maybe I will have to look into setting up a Ko-fi account or something ☺️
this was great! thanks for explaining so well..would you be colouring more on the same page?
AB C I’ve done a little bit but the page is by no means complete. Are you hoping for another video of this page?
@@WillowHues yes actually i was hoping for another video of the same page, i just loved the way you explained and made it simple ,if you could teach how to color the other tiny bits it would be great :)
@@ABC-co8id I'll try to record some of that this week then!
Very inspirational!!! You're an incredible colorist. 💗
Thank you!
I know this video is a bit older but I had a question I was hoping you could answer. You say to shadow with a color opposite on the wheel which makes sense if the overall color you are going for is a warm color but how would you add shadow to something that you want to be a dark purple or blue color primarily? Would you shade with a red in that case?
You could shade with red - I tend to go in lightly with some red when I really want to darken bushes or leaves. Generally though I tend to stick with blues and purples for shading, because shadows tend to be blue in general. But if I were coloring something that was a cool-leaning dark purple, I might use a darker red-purple to do some of the shadows with, if that makes sense. Here's a Harry Potter page I did with the knight bus as an example: ua-cam.com/video/mfSbEkkeHDw/v-deo.html. There's probably six or seven purples in that, as well as some black just to get it dark enough. Peta Hewitt also has a great and thorough video on this topic: ua-cam.com/video/siRWpP5u8gk/v-deo.html
Beautiful tutorial, what kind of eraser was that....I use prisma too but I’m very new....thank u
Mairi Rose no problem! The eraser I used on the starfish was a Pentel Clic and to erase the crab’s eye I used a Tombow Mono. I should have a video up sometime this weekend with all of my coloring supplies, so keep an eye out! 😉
Thank you sooo much , yes I will tune in....🦋
What was the name of your coloring book you used?
This is Menuet de Bonheur by Kanoko Egusa!
